STM32CubeProgrammer (MCUs)

Hi,if I connect the Cubeprogrammer via jlink to the custom board (STM32H562) and want to reset the option bytes by menu-selection "Reset MCU to factory settings", the process don't finish because the mentioned error pops-up.Is this caused due to a missing signal on the debug connector? The problem is now, that the mcu is in provisioning state and I want set it back to open state.Kindly regards,Stefan

I assume RDP means Readout Protection. Is there any means for disabling it programmatically with C#? How would it get enabled? I'm pretty sure I'm not enabling it with my program. I tried "–ob rdp=0x0" but got a -1 result, meaning Not Connected. So I'm in a situation where I can't connect because I'm getting -16 (RDP enabled) and I can't disable RDP because I'm not connected     

Hello,I have developed a external Loader for my custom projekt. It uses a W25Q128 QSPI conected to bank 2 and alternative Pin of CLK. (Worse!, but it is so...) So i Have no exactly example for it. Also it is a Dual Core, and no example i find have special definitions for it.I worked more days on it and it worked perfekt (now!) in a Cube Projekt.Erase, write and read (manual) and memory mapped mode are perfect.If I compile the stldr file, I can load ist in Cube programmer and stm prog utility.But then I could cry. I can't do anything. No read on QSPI and so on.....I think i will have trouble with the m4 Core. The M7 Core must wait for him.I don't know. How you can help me. What is wrong. Have you any Idea?

I have worked with ST-LINK/2 on Windows 10 for several years. I must upgrade to Windows 11 because Windows 10 support ended a few months ago. Today, I tried to program the WIO E5 Mini microcontroller, but I found it's impossible because there's no driver for it on my computer.I found some information that I should install version 9 of that driver. I downloaded it from the original STM source and ran it, but nothing changed. Is till don't see this driver among my devices. Installation ended without any error. Is there anybody who can point out what I am missing?

I'm trying to develop a simple Flash tool for my company using the CubeProgrammer_API.dll.I got most things working so far, but I can't get the External Loaders to work.CubeProgrammer_API exposes some functions like:setExternalLoaderPathsetLoadersPathgetExternalLoadersremoveExternalLoaderBut ther is no place to pass a specific loader to a function like 'downloadFile' or to select one of the 91 Loaders provided by CubeProgrammer.How can I select one loader for my project using the CubeProgrammer_API?

The STM32L0xx series contains EEPROM located at 0x08080000. I have been working with a custom board using the STM32U073 for while, and have made a program that can active the USB system memory DFU. After this I suddenly cannot program the board anymore using the STM32CubeProgrammer.I can read all the flash memory, but cannot program the flash anymore.... Hi, using STM32 Cube Programmer and STM32 Trusted Package Creator W2.21, I was unable to detect the HSM card, getting error 0x88000002. I had to downgrade to V2.14, as mentionned in several posts to get it detected successfully.I use HID Omnikey 3121 reader.Any solution to be able to use last version 2.21 and HSM card ?

The release notes for v2.2.0 say that feature is in there, but I can't seem to find it.I tried the "Full Chip Erase" feature & it cleared everything EXCEPT the EEPROM.

I'm using STM32_Programmer_CLI software v.2.20.0 to program an ST Nucleo board (NUCLEO-C071RB).I wish the software were better at automatically handling situations that make it fail.For example, this command does work normally for uploading firmware to the board:STM32_Programmer_CLI --connect port=swd --download firmware.elf --startHowever, if you have enabled read-out protection (RDP) by setting RDP=0 in the option bytes, then it fails with "Error: failed to erase memory"  (and for some reason, it prints that message twice).  If read-out protection truly does prevent you from erasing, the software should be smart enough to detect that RDP is on and then turn it off temporarily.  Instead, we have to manually ask the software to do that:STM32_Programmer_CLI --connect port=swd -ob RDP=0xAA

I downloaded and installed stm cube programmer, but every time I try to open it, I immediately get an error message saying that it quit unexpectedly. Currently running mac high sierra 10.13.6. How can I fix this problem?

Hello,I inherited an old software project from a colleague who retired. (He originally worked on Windows XP.)The software was designed to run on an STM32L-Discovery board.Since some packages need to be maintained, I want to build the software on a Linux machine (Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS). I managed to create a CMake project that successfully builds the binary for the target.The issue I’m facing now is that I can’t flash the binary to the target hardware because STM32CubeProgrammer displays the following message:“Error: Old ST-LINK firmware version. Upgrade ST-LINK firmware.”I also tried on a Windows 10 machine and got the same result.On the official board page [1], there’s no mention of STM32CubeProgrammer.I’ve been searching for a solution since this morning, but I haven’t found the right hint yet.Can anyone confirm whether CubeProgrammer is unable to write to this Discovery board?Can anyone recommen

As mentioned in the AN2606 document for STM32F412VGTx MCU(Custom chip), I am using USART2 (PD6/PD5) for UART bootloader using STM32CubeProgrammer. But I am getting an error message as attached. Help me to resolve this issue.

My goal is to use the STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe  from an application, but, for the moment, I just write down command lines in the Command Prompt (cmd.exe).However, the commands of writting the flash ( -w yourbinfile.bin )and erasing it completely (-e all) does not return any kinf of results. I just delivers a "STM32CubeProgrammer v2.21.0" response. Why?

In VS Code side I have a launch.json which allows me to build, flash and start debugging the application I've built on an STM32F0 series microcontroller. It works completely fine. Device appears in Windows, enumerates as a USB device, and everything just works as expected.What I want to do now is execute the build and flash steps, and then instruct the MCU to begin executing the program. Hi all,I'm looking for a way to remotely *flash* a B-U585I-IOT02A | Product - STMicroelectronics eval board using the built-in STLINK-V3.Remotely means over TCP. Can be at the same computer (e.g., to pass-through debuggers to Docker containers), or across computers.This works well with GDB for debugging, but I need this to get running with flashing, too.Questions:Is there a way to make STM32_Programmer_CLI or related ST apps connect via TCP instead of directly to the debugger? I found ST-LINK-SERVER | Software - STMicroelectronics which seems to create the TCP bridge, but do any ST tools actually use it?

I've noticed a behavior with MX25UM5124G_STM32U5x9K-DK External loader over the past 2 years that I feel is a bug. I think the bug lies within the sectorwise erase of the MX25UM5124G_STM32U5x9K-DK External loader fw. If you flash a bin to external flash using the external loader with "erase before programming" enable , there is near 100% likelihood the verification step will fail. I believe this caused by the sectorwise erase not working as intended. The work around has been to do full chip erase on external flash then attempt the flash again. This will succeed almost every time. The behavior that led me to suspect the issue lies within the external loader is when I wrote a proprietary external flasher onboard the stm32. It uses sectorwise erase and has high reliability. This proves to me that flash chip and flash driver on the STM32 are working as intended. Note: We use this proprietary flasher for customer flashing updates

Been working on this for a few weeks now, I'm losing my mind. In STM32CubeIDE, only time I can get anywhere is in hardware reset, and there it times out. In STM32CubeProgrammer, it does connect. It can read the MCU name, flash size, all of that. All addresses read 00000000. However, I can't write in the programmer, and I just can't figure out why. Write to memory failed. Failed to erase data. Failed to download data. This is my first time doing something like this, so maybe I'm missing something. But nothing I've looked up has helped.
