Posted on August 30, 2017 at 10:05HiNow I'm trying to implement USART to my STM32F10x KIT.Basically I use the KEIL uVision and I've build up with Pack Installer of uVision on STM32F10x.but I can't find USART(polling, Interrupt, DMA) example.I don't want to use to build up such as ''STM32CubeMX'' tools and such as HAL. How do I get USART(polling, Interrupt, DMA) example code? and tutorial?the following image shows that there is no any USART example codes.#usart #stm32f10 #example-usart #keil-examples #keil-uvision

Posted on August 24, 2017 at 17:05I'm trying to use a Nucleo F411RE with some Arduino shields, and having very little luck.The behavior I get is that the Nucleo either doesn't power up at all, or are slow and unreliable about enumerating the USB devices it provides, and I get errors about device addition failing in the system log.Removing JP1 - which limits current draw and forces the device enumeration - makes things a little better. Sometimes. But sometimes it just means that the errors in the system log repeat until I get tired of it.Providing external power also helps. These two things make me think I've missing something power related.This happens with multiple Nucleo boards and all my Arduino spare shields (just 3). They are all pre-R3 boards, but one of them is a prototype board with nothing but parallel connections for the reset pin and LED.Other people don't seem to be having these issues, and I've not turned u

Posted on August 22, 2017 at 14:51Hello All,I am working on ST controller with IAR.I have imported one code into IAR in my PC.code is generated in other PC previously.All Folders and files are included with respect to variable 'PROJ_DIR'.Now, compilation is done successfully.But when i do 'go to definition' on 'HAL_Init()' , it says 'encountered hardware I/O error D://........' as My PC not having D drive.(Error is obvious, if i am providing path wrt D drive, but i am not providing path absolutely, it is re&sharplative to 'PROJ_DIR').Issue 1 : My understanding is , Variable 'PROJ_DIR' will be set automatically to my current location of project.If so, then why i am getting this error????Issue 2 : How i can check value of 'PROJ_DIR' variable in IAR???How i can change this?If this is not issue of variable , then can anyone suggest cause of this error?Thanks #proj_dir #

Posted on August 03, 2017 at 23:47I am trying to import an example STemWin project to System workbench. I want to copy it, because I do not want to ruin the original one, I may need it for another project later, but if I check the copy alternative, only folders and names of the files are copied, and you maybe guess how it works. As I have learned, I am not alone with this problem in 2017. Pretty often (read always) I also get an Eclipse error, if I clean a CubeMx project and then I have to restart System workbench. I have W10.Is this really the level of the STM framework today, late 2017?The examples are less than one year old, but are not using HAL.  How long are these non-HAL libraries hanging around.Where can I see the current workspace.  I can see previous workspaces, but where am I now.#copy-project #system-workbench

Posted on August 02, 2017 at 13:06I'm using the ST-Link with IAR, trying to do on-chip debugging via JTAG on a STM32F432. However, when I click 'Download and Debug', my application seems to randomly start running, instead of sitting in man at the reset vector, waiting for me to click 'Go'. If I stop, it's executing real code, but inserting  breakpoint in the beginning of main shows it's not starting at the entry vector for my application.  The strange thing is this behavior seems intermittent. Some sort of clock issue?#iar #jtag

But when I add this line, the pointer Test_feature, ZeroCenter_Parameters, C1K,C1B will all, or sometimes partly, point to 0x000000.eventually in 2 debug with the same code, it may different.so the Question is:In general, What will let the Heap pointer point to 0x00000? before free.for my observation, the heap size is enough on my project (HEAP SIZE=0x8000, the same as stack size). For example, I want to use the switch (S1) to control the output of the GPIO pin (PA0), and read this output to turn on/off another LED. When I set the GPIO pin, GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_Pin = GPIO_Pin_0; GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_Mode = GPIO_Mode_IN; GPIO_InitStructure.GPIO_PuPd = GPIO_PuPd_DOWN; GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStructure); I can make the program work as I expected when I set it to be pull-down or NOPULL (float?). After some searching online, my understanding is that when I set the pin to have a pull-down resistor, there is a pull-down resistor shown in the figure, the PA0 is 0 when S1 is open and is 1 when S1 is closed. Is my understanding correct?

Posted on January 19, 2017 at 01:28The Keil uVision IDE/compiler chain has a `&sharppragma` for preventing heap usage; see http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/armlib/armlib_chr1358938927854.htm. The great thing about this is that the linker fails if anyone (or a library) attempts to use the heap.  I've searched through the IAR documentation and haven't seen an equivalent method of preventing inadvertent heap usage.  I've looked at the linker options as well.  Is there a way to prevent compiling/linking if a routine tries to use the heap with the IAR toolchain?#iar #heap

Posted on June 20, 2017 at 13:55Hello,WhenI am adding an ADC block to my model  I can not set the channel which the MCU should read from and with timer I get this error Can not get APB timer frequency. I have already configured the MCU in STM CUBE MX and loaded the ''.ioc'' file to the configuration  block in Simulink, so for example with GPIO blocks I don t have any problem, but when it comes to timers and ADC these configurations are not transferred to the Simulink and it gives an error of ''no configuration found for ADC or Can not get APB timer frequency for timers''. The configuration file is attached.I am usingSTM32MATTARGET 4.4.1, MATLAB 2016 b, STM CUBE MX 4.21.0   

Posted on June 12, 2017 at 13:48I am having an issue with a particular set of developed firmware and using the STM Studio variable logging tool. On trying to import variables from a .axf file created by Keil uVision, I am presented with hundreds of errors such as that in the image attached.These items are constants, and it makes sense that I shouldn't be able to import them.I find myself having to hold enter for about 5 minutes to dismiss the error messages. Does anyone know if there is any way around this?#error #keil #stmstudio #uvision

I installed ARM CORTEX M through matlab package installer but it didn't appear in the replacement functions menu. any body can help as my code calculate a lot of sine cosine operations and the execution time is too big!Thanks in advance
