Goodmorning,I am using STM32L552RCT6 in my design that I intend to use through a USB interface.I'm trying to implement the VBUS sense (compulsory since my device will be self-powered). I have read AN4879, and it's clear to me that I have to add a voltage divider to avoid the situation where I provide 5V to the MCU while it's not powered. The values recommend from AN4879 makes perfect sense too.However, I checked the schematics of the NUCLEO-L55ZE-Q, and the values of the resistor there are very much different!

Posted on October 25, 2016 at 20:05Hi All,I want to make a BLDC motor driver board using L6235N DIP.I wired all the components on the breadboard as per schematic diagram and component list is given in ST Application Note AN1625 page no. 35-37.I am using PWM from MCU to control the speed of the BLDC motor(Max Speed 3000RPM). Now motor is running and break, Direction, Tacho all these features are working fine but I have a little problem to control the speed .generally, when I set the PWM duty Cycle 0% Motor should be stop but still motor is running arround 350RPM. PWM output is connected with Vref pin no. 13 of L6235N. I am unable to control the speed less than 350RPM but more than 350RPM Speed control is working fine.  When I connect the PIN no. 13 (Vref) to 0V(Signal Ground) nothing changed motor still running at 350RPM but it should be stopped. Hi EveryoneGreetingsWe are using an STM32U585 MCU and need to maintain a log of about 200 KB using FileX. Once the 200 KB storage is full, I don’t want LevelX to reclaim the entire file and erase it. Instead, I need the log to behave like a circular buffer, where only the oldest block of log data is erased and overwritten with new data. How this requirement can be achieved. For this requirement how much size shall be allocated  by fileX(im using an external flash of 8MB).Thanks and Regards Philip

Hey everyone,I'm currently trying to work with the NUCLEO-U386RG-Q development board.When I try to download the latest available MCU package (1.2.0) via STM32CubeIDE, I only get an error message stating that the requested MCU package is not available. This is obviously incorrect, as I can manually download and install it from the ST website. When I try to install one of the previous releases, the connection is established, but the download is extremely slow for some reason.

Hi all, We are using a STM32WB5MMG uC in one of our products and we just happened to see in its datasheet that the secondary crystal frequency is 32.774 kHz, instead of the common 32.768 kHz, is that right?We are using the internal RTC clocked by the LSE to keep real time in the device and thus we would like to have the least amount of drift, within the crystal manufacturing tolerance.If that is the case, then I understand a soft calibration of the RTC is needed to account for the +183 ppm with respect to the 32.768 kHz, correct?By the way, our project is based on the SBSFU+SecureBin+BLE OTA demo project. Is it possible that these already compensate for that? Thank you all

Hi,During the integration of FreeRTOS using STM32CubeMX on the STM32MP157F-DK2 platform, the initial compilation fails. In my experience with other ST microcontrollers, the initial build after adding FreeRTOS generally completes successfully without requiring manual intervention. However, this behavior is not consistent with the STM32MP157F-DK2.The build process reports missing files such as cmsis_os2.h, freertos_mpool.h and freertos_os2.h. Even after manually adding these files, additional compilation errors continue to arise, indicating deeper integration issues.I would appreciate any suggestions or insights into what might be going wrong in this process.Software Version:STM32CubeIDE ==> 1.18.0STM32CubeMX ==> 6.14.0Here are few screenshots suggesting the same.

I have TrueStudio and STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0 installed in OS Win10, it works fine for my current project.But our cooperation will update the OS to Win11. The TrueStudio and STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0 will automatically work for Win 11 OS? or should I reinstall it?

Hi ST expertI'm ready to use STM32G473CBUx now. According to the datasheet, the STM32G473CBUx does not have an analog ground VSSA, only a ground VSS. I have questions:1. The analog input of the internal ADC/DAC is referenced to the chip's VSS, or has STM32G473CBUx internally partitioned an analog ground? 2. When I design the schematic, is the analog power VDDA referenced to VSS?

Hello everyone!  Recently, I have been developing a firmware product based on STM32H750, using FreeRTOS and LwIP. Because the application scenarios for this product frequently involve large volumes of broadcase messages, while the product's own communication does not use broadcast at all. So I enable the ETH MAC filter to detect and drop the broadcast frame by hardware itself, which means reducing the processing load on LwIP.   However, after that I discovery a problem, which is that the hardware also drop ARP broadcast request too! Just because the destination mac address filed in ARP broadcast request is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. Hello,I want to create my own bootloader for STM32L4xxx, but I can't find any documentation explaining how the binary file generated during compilation on STM32CubeIDE is formatted.I have a rough idea of how it's done, but I would like to have documentation that clarifies its formatting si I can decode it.Do you know where I can find this documentation, please?

Each time I enable SPI, it works fine.However, whenever I include USART, SPI freezes, and this issue affects multiple chips I've tested.SPI and USART both work well individually.The problem seems to stem from CubeMX, which doesn't generate the code correctly.Coding directly in Keil or CubeIDE might solve the issue, but it's time-consuming—which is exactly why we use CubeMX in the first place.Does anyone know if this could be a simple issue, like an interrupt conflict or shared resource problem?I looked at bunch of options like making sure the interrupt priority for USART and SPI is different.Making sure SPI does not kick in while USART (DMA) is still processing data, ectIt's definitely a CubeMX code generation issue.Any suggestions on how to make SPI and USART work together?     

Hello ST Expert ,I'm using the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 for my project as Gateway and End-device.I have one Gateway and 4 end device ( based on the same baord ) , i don't made any hardware change , and I'm using the SW delivered by STMicroelectronics.I have an issue for the distance range between the Gateway and the End device.I'm using the same configuration in all boards ( gateway and end-devices )- SF = 11 ; Freq = 125Khz- 22dbi=> The maximum range is 100 metres So ,I changed the Antenna  I had 300 meters..but it is not enough for my projects.At least i want 1000 metres to connect all End device. Any Suggestion please I'm very blocked Best Regards

Hello!I a new in this.I have two sets of DA files: for password access and for access via certificate.I've tried to flash a NS-firmware, provision a password.obk, then change Product state to Provisioned/closed. Thas was successful. I can perform a regression from this state.But i also tried to open a debug session. Without success. CubeProgrammer says, that I am able to make full regression only, while Cube IDE asks for certificate DA.I know, that certificate auth method is valid with TZEN=1 only, but I tried to provision that obk with TZEN=0.As a result, I Have this:

STR73xx MCU's are old, but I think the CAN operation is similar to newer parts. This part supports loopback and loopback with silent options. I am interested in the one called just 'loopback'. In loopback, the TX pin is active, but RX pin is disconnected from the CAN bus. TX is looped back into the RX logic. My question is about what happens when connected to a live CAN bus, one that has traffic from other nodes. Clearly, my MCU will not hear any external traffic, the RX logic will only hear what my MCU is sending. But, will my MCU still honor bus state detection and arbitration, so when I tell it to transmit (and the TX pin is active) it will not collide with external bus traffic? mark    

Hi,I’m designing a PCB with the STM32WLE5CCU6. I don’t plan to use the integrated RF (LoRa) section, but the MCU choice is fixed.I couldn’t find clear guidance in the datasheet on how to power the device when the RF block is unused. I’d like to optimize the board and avoid populating connections/components that won’t be used.QuestionsCan the RF section be left unpowered entirely, or do certain rails still need to be supplied?Do any RF-related pins need specific pull-ups/pull-downs, or can they be left floating?Which RF-path components can be omitted without impacting MCU operation?Are there any recommended pin straps or layout considerations for this use case?Thank you!Product page: https://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers-

Does the ambient value affect the distance measurements in the VL53L8CX, or are both parameters independent of each other?

I am implementing a system with two STM32H753 microcontrollers. MCU1 reads ADC data and sends it over UART to MCU2 using UART DMA on ADC conversion. MCU2 reads data from UART via DMA and is supposed to do some filtering (among other things) to the received data. Earlier, all of the tasks were done by a single MCU (hence it was simpler, as we had access to the ADC data buffer already). The issue I am facing is that the UART Receive DMA is never triggering the HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback() callback no matter what I do. I have tried the same with UART_Receive_IT() with no results either. To help me ensure that it is not a configuration issue, I configured the same UART in a separate project (which is more of a simpler example of what I am trying to do) and verified my configuration to be working (posted about it earlier). 

Hello, I am developing a bootloader which communicates with an external flash memory (AT45DB041E) in order to check if a file is written inside the flash. This file that my bootloader is searching for is written from another program which is on the eclipse and uses mbed for LittleFileSystem functions and the BlockDevice. When this program finishes its work my bootloader starts and fails to mount the flash memory and every time I am getting this error message:Corrupted dir pair at {0x0, 0x1}However, I have checked my functions in littlefs that I use for reading and writing data to a specific file with a dummy code which was making the below steps:1) Mounting the flash (Success) 2) Opening a file for reading writing (Success) 3) Writing 160

Hello, We're working on a custom board for the STM32H750IBX. Our boards arrived. The first time, the chip was installed poorly and shorted out. We assembled a new board at the SMT factory with the new chip, but we still can't connect to the chip to program it.We checked the voltage and the connection as best we could. We couldn't check the chip itself because it's a BGA package. However, we did an X-ray, and everything looks fine.We tried connecting with STMCUBE IDE and ST_LINK Utility, but they still can't recognize the target.We've exhausted all possible solutions and are asking the community for help. Schematics:
