STM32 MCUs Motor control

PCB layout of STEVAL STSPIN3204 board contais critical bug as explained in attached report which prevents the design to work up to claimed 16Arms. This bug creates extreme radiated emissions (affecting nearby instruments) and prevents the proper function of phase current sensing triggering current limit too early. It could be fixed with simple PCB modification (with cutting knife and soldering iron).Randomly openning gerbers from other STEVAL SPIN32 boards I have found this exact bug (SPIN3202). This leads me to believe that some of your layouters and/or designers might want to refresh layout guidelines for motor control possibly with focus EMC.If you are interested my company could offer you personalized seminar/training/hands-on which covers those topics or others from theory through practical application to example of schematic or layout reviews before design freeze. I am using MC SDK 5.4.4 to drive a PMSM motor using STSPIN32F0601. Now, I want to add a potentiometer to my system to sense different user selectable levels. Generally, in other appplications we can intialize the ADC and read the ADC converted values as and when required. But after referring the documentation I found regular_conversion_manager (RCM) to use the ADC channels. I am using an ADC channel other the ones assigned for phase current sensing, voltage bus sensing, temperature sensing. How do I go about to read an ADC channel in this case?

I build a custom board with the STM32G431KBT controller that drives a DC motor via a TI motor driver.When I put the board in boot mode it drives the motor at full speed.This only can happen when a combination of 4 pins is in a specific state.One PWM input is low and the other high.Disable pin I measure low.And nSleep is somewhere around 1.7voltI think the idea is that TI makes the sleep input a NOT Sleep to ignore all types of reset states (all-high and all-low)But in my case it's unclear.Why is one PWM high and the other low?And why is nSleep at 1.7V?What should be the pinstate of all pins in boot mode?

Hi! I need to control a BLDC motor in FOC mode. I have a NUCLEO-H743ZI and IHM08M1, I know that they are not compatible with the ST morpho connector. But I decided to connect them manually with wires.On IHM08M1 board I removed capacitors C3, C5, C7, closed jumpers JP1&JP2, and soldered JP5&JP6 to 3Sh.On Nucleo board I configured advanced TIM1 with 3 Channels: TIM_CH1, TIM_CH1N, TIM_CH2 TIM_CH2N,TIM_CH3, TIM_CH3NAnd wired them to the power board.When I trying to generate PWM signal, there are any outgoing signal on any of 3 Phases.Do I miss something?Thank you!

Hi! I'm trying to control four 8520 motors with a NUCLEOf303k8. I would use two L293B for this scope, but the input voltage for my NUCLEO is 3.3V. The L293B needs an input voltage of 4,5V, at minimum. Will the NUCLEO "5V" output pin provide 5V to the L293D, its input is 3.3V?

Dear ST Hello,Could you please help me to organize my project code for motor control?I have several states:The init state where I initialize all the peripherals used in the projectThe state wait where the system is reading and working and no action are neededThe close loop state motor control in closed-loopThe open-loop state motor control in open loopThe communication state SPI and SCI CAN...The idea is to develop a small OS for my application. The application will be triggered by an interruption. The EPWM interrupt will be triggered every 80us and I have to loop all the states if needed otherwise loop in the wait state.I have to create a different directory for any Driver in this project. Each driver has his own folder(.c .h inline) EPWM eCAp, ADC, SPI CAN CMPSS, and SCI..Could you please suggest any way to organize the code? Hi ,i am new to stm32, even i got the same project to rotate the motor using timer interrupt.i need to set my timer to 100khz in interrupt mode. and my acceleration and deacceleration frequency is 300 hz . so if i divide 100khz by 300 hz i would get 333 . so i need to get one pulse for every 333 interrupts and my motor should drive . if i decrease my interrupt value my speed should increase and motor should run . and same for deacceleration.can anyone help me how to deal with this and what modification i need to do in my code so anyone guide me please.The code what i have written is attached below . please help me.Thank you

Hi,I don't understand the code below -- why is PA12 set to an output? I've included an image from the documentation that shows that PA12 receives the output from the comparator. I am using a STM32G431 MCU and a custom driver using the STSPIN233. My driver doesn't appear to be enabled so I'm debugging code. I do not see where the ow-side EN_U, EN_V and EN_W pins get set high. Hello,I am using a STEVAL-SPIN3202 to drive a small BLDC drone motor with a big motor speed constant KV = 7500rpm/V (MakerFire D1104 - 7500KV).I used Motor Control Workbench 5.4.4, CubeMX 6.0.1 and CubeIDE 1.4.0 to build the code.After some trouble with FLASH size (resolved with the compilation optimization settings), I was able to download the code on the board.I'm now facing an other problem ;I am able to connect to the device through Motor Control Workbench but each time I use the "Start Motor" button, some errors appear.The first I had was Over Current Fault. I tried to change some settings but I always had the same fault.After some changes on the settings and the jumpers (I can't remember exactly which), I'm getting a new error :I can connect as usual but when I hit the "Start Motor" button, I can see the measured speed increase (the motor still doesn't move) and the error "Communication

Good Evening,I am an STM user, I used it for a lot of project and I am familiar with it.Now I am trying to start a Drone project and I have the STEVAL-ESC001V1 Controller (Link bellow). When I tried using the motor profiler or even the STM Workbench I couldn't choose it! Since it has to be used only with the other STM32F303CB based STEVAL-ESC001V1. (Picture bellow)I have 2 questions.Can the 2nd STEVAL-ESC001V1 be used with any controller other than the 303CB in the motor profiler picture bellow ?? The STM32F303RE for example ?The left STEVAL-ESC001V1 is written to be not approved for resale ! Hi,equipment: NUCLEO-F303REX-NUCLEO-IHM07M1Maxon motor 496653 with 5.8:1 gear ratioMotor Profiler 5.4.4MotorControl Workbench 5.4.4 (MCWB)STM32CubeMX 5.5STM32CubeIDE 1.4.0Project details: I have created a position control project following the AN5464 and I am attempting to drive the motor. Issue: Motor not able to rotate. When the motor should be rotating it drawn current gradually increments up to +-400mA without achieving any movement. I have tried using the MCWB which doesn't show any faults and I can also see the measured currents (IQ and Flux) changing but the measured speed remains to 0 (as the motor is not rotating at all). Thoughts: I am guessing there is an issue with either the position or speed PIDs. I have managed to create a project using the IHM08M1 and I have attempted to use the same PID settings but they didn't help.

There is only a very small movement of the motor shaft one time back and forth.I've verified right connection and correct signals from my ABZ encoder.Could this problem be linked to G4 rev Y errata issues with ADC ?

I'm working on BLDC Motor Controller project. I'm using STM32F030R8T6 Microcontroller (STM32F030R8T6 Discovery Board) for motor control application. The motor controller is working fine but while reading motor controller current I'm not able to read 40mV voltage (Voltage drop across shunt current sensor) in ADC. after 40mV I can read voltage. I have doubt on STM32F030 Discovery ADC accuracy.Please suggest me how can I solve this issue and suggest any microcontroller for mid level motor controller development.Thank You.

Folks, I was pleased to attend this workshop in Santa Clara, CA, two years ago and receive the hardware (Nucleo-F302R8, X-Nucleo-IHM07M1, small BLDC motor and power adapter) and workshop software (bundled in an installer). Still have all of this, including the workshop documentation Was disappointed to miss this year's session (Cancelled do to the COVID-19 pandemic?) Therefore, I would like to reinstall the (software) components with their current versions. What's the easiest way to accomplish this, start with the 2018 version and update each component individually, or essentially recreate the workshop bundled installer and install from new components, stitching them together.And while we're at it, I would much prefer to setup this new workshop environment under macOS (Big Sur) rather than in a Win10 VM using Parallels. Is this possible (noting that STM32CubeMX runs on the Mac, MCSDK is implemented in Java, etc.)? Or are some of the necessary components o

STEVAL-SPIN3201After looking at the schematic i can see that there is a second MCU to 'control' the STSPIN32F0. This second MCU has a STLINK connector for programming. My question is ; Is it possible to program the STSPIN32F0 directly and not have to use a second MCU. I am looking to program the STSPIN directly and not use any 'ready made' firmware. Is this possible with this evaluation board ? With this set up i dont see any way to utilize the hardware features of the integrated MCU within the STSPIN.

I am using stm32f401VE controller to drive IM using spwm and open loop V/F method. I configured carrier frequency as 4KHZ and creating sine signal in TIM2 which is of 100usec.computation of compare count for the sine wave is happening in TIM1 update event which should be theoretically 250usec.I configured TIM1 as clock 84MHz,prescale value is 7, PWM mode 2, centre aligned mode. I calculated value for 2625 for getting period 250usec or half 125usec for centre aligned method(1312). Interrupt priority is set as TIM1 is 0 and TIM2 is 1.Execution time of ISR TIM1 is 12usec and TIM2 is 36usecFollowing are my observations 1. Update event is happening in 124usec which supposed to be at 125usec2. If i compute compare count value in TIM2 sometimes i missed update event. 3.if i use edge aligned counter (UP counter), output voltages are imbalanced by 10-15 volts and current is by 1-2Amp.4.
