STM32 MCUs Motor control

Hey all,So I may have quite a beginner question but how would one use the IHM03A1 with the L4R5ZI? Are there libraries which I can use for calls? There seem to be no example projects for my current board (albeit there are for a few others under the IHM03A1 Tools and Software tab online). I was going use STM32CubeIDE to work on a project based around the combo but I'm having a hard time configuring the two boards to work together. I've been able to use mbed to run a "Hello World" IHM03A1 project with my target device being the L4R5ZI- everything seemed to work, but what good does that do when there's no way to convert the project to something that'll run in STM32CubeIDE... So I guess at the moment I'm quite lost, any guidance would be much appreciated.

I would like to know if it is possible to send a torque/current reference by UART to the MCU in order to perform a direct torque control system.Thank you in advance,Best regards,Giulio Bonetti

I'm trying to generate project for B-G431B-ESC1 and I keep getting warningThese IPs still have some not configured or wrong parameter values: [ADC2]Project compiles after commenting out HAL_PWREx_DisableUCPDDeadBattery(); (from stm32g4xx_hal_msp.c line:81), but motors won't run with any setting. Currents are insanely high. Ramp-up tries to execute, but fails.Seems like the feedback is not working at all. ESC cannot detect motor speed properly.

I will be using the STMF30x mostly for motor control using the ST library. I need to purchase a compiler/debugger and was wondering if the Keil MDK5 'Essential' version will work? I'm pretty much convinced I should use Keil on my windows based system but was wondering if the lower cost license version MDK5 "essentials" would do the job. I'm at a startup on a shoe-string budget with no time to cobble together an open development tool system. Thoughts? Experiences?

I have driven my 3-Phase BLDC motor at speeds greater than 200RPM with great success. Driving at lower speeds has resulted in decreased performance. I find that the motor will run for a little, then drop to zero RPM for some time, and then overshoot the desired RPM and repeat. I am using Hall Sensors in my application, and using the PID parameters generated by the workbench. Any help is appreciated.

I've recently done a clean install of STM32CubeIDE, and after went for the x-cube-mcsdk setup.The motor WBench cant generate the code because CubeMX is not installed... But in fact CubeMX is now embedded in STM32CubeIDE.How can this issue be solved? (see screenshot )-d

I've configured a timer for Output-Compare on a pin that goes to a stepper motor. However is there a way to configure the timer such that it outputs a certain number of reload events / pulses and then stops completely.In software, I understand I can accumulate the count in the TImer ISR and then stop the timer once the desired count has been reached, but would prefer to have the timer stop automatically.Also is it recommended to route the output to a timer input to verify the number of pulses generated? Not sure how others implement driving a stepper motor, but I need a highly precise position!

Hi All, I am just getting started with the  B-G431B-ESC1 evaluation kit. I wasn't able to find it listed as a development kit in the motor control workbench and the instructions in the user guide weren't entirely clear on this for the initial configuration. From what I understand, I should use the motor control workbench to generate the base project code to load onto the development kit, before running the profiler, meaning I am obviously unable to continue without this step. Am I missing it in the menu somewhere? Are we supposed to configure a "custom" project and drive stage for this board (though it would be greatly appreciated if someone could share an example MC workbench project with me)Thank you all for your support!

is there any resource on using ST device for permanent magnet linear synchronous machines (PMLSMs)?It's possible to use a single BLDC chip to connect the linear coils in parallel sets of 3 but what do do when it comes to Hall or sensorless feedback?Appreciate any thoughts or experience on the topic.Thanks.

HiI am running BLDC motor using eval 3202 board and when some load on motor is given it trips and gives indication over current fault in motor control workbench.So how to change value of over current in code generated by motor control workbench 5.4 ?

i have to spin a 86BLF03, 3 phase motor, i've already create the base profile of the motor with motor profile and the project with ST motor controller: now i trying to rebuild the default firmware but i having serius problems because i dont undernstand how to to that? i just create an empty project dedicate to my board but when i try to built it i have this error.

Hi Based on some discussions in the community about torque problems at low speed I am wondering, if I will run into problems with my application.I would like to use the STEVAL-SPIN3201 board to drive a 48V BLDC motor. It is a start stop application where 3x nominal torque is required to accelerate (2-3s) and the same torque is required for braking. Speed range is about 120rpm up to 1200rpm.Rated and peak current of the board fits to the application, that's not the question.I am just wondering if it works with standard motor control alogithms from ST or do I have soemthing to consider in the control task?Additionally I have the idea to build a small test bench with a second drive of the same type. The two drives will work against themselve. Means the second drives works almost all in recouperation mode. Is there any information available for this kind of operation?Would be great to get some feedback,Thanks.

STEVAL-ESC001v1 board when power up it shown over current fault always, if i acknowledge programmatically by calling MC_AcknowledgeFaultMotor1(); but it does not work . , please suggest a solution how to programmatically acknowledge all faults at startup.

Hey.Faced a problem. The combination from Nucleo-F303RE + STEVAL-IPMNG3Q does not work. At different values, Apk shows different values ​​of resistance and inductance. In this case, after measuring the inductance and resistance, the motor does not start.In previous versions of the Motor profiler there is no support for this power board, nevertheless, if you choose another one with a similar circuitry, the motor starts and the determination of the parameters comes to the mechanical model. In 1.3.1, with the correct combination of boards, I cannot even build an electrical model. Unlike previous versions in 1.3.1, the determination of resistance and inductance occurs with a whistle in the range of 8-10 kHz and attempts to make the motor rotate are also accompanied by whistling and squeaking.SM-PMSM motor.Has anyone faced a similar problem?

Hello All, I'm developing 48Volt 700Watt BLDC Motor Controller Using STM32 Controller. I didn't use STM Motor Control Workbench Tool for this Project. Hello everyone,I'm trying to build a sensorless 6 step BDLC motor control. I'm using 3 external interrupts to detect rising and falling BEMF signals and 6 step commutation sequence and the motor works fine for different PWM values. Now I'm trying to add a potentiometer and use DMA IRQ handlerto control the PWM value and speed of the motor. Can anyone let me know if I can use DMA IRQ handler along with external interrupt handler. I have tried giving preemt priority 0 for exxternal interrupts and 1 for DMA IRQ. But it doesnt work as expected

Hello, I am a novice programmer. I have a problem with EVSPIN32F0601S3.I cannot compile the program generated by ST Motor Control in any way - whatever I would not do, an error pops up:"Make: *** No target rule" ../Middlewares/MotorControl/inrush_current_limiter.c ", needed by" Middlewares / MotorControl / inrush_current_limiter.o ". Stop. The problem with the C / C hard drive "ST MOTOR CONTROL shows no error.And I can't connect via ST Motor Control to EVSPIN32F0601S3 board (I can via IDE and others).Can someone help me with this problem or indicate where I can look for a solution?

Both debug and release versions (EWARM 8.4.1) will run on the ESC on debug mode. With ST-Link Utility if I connect then disconnect, the ESC will start running the program.But with SWD interface disconnected, and power applied, ESC will not start. If I manually put NRST pin to ground, then program will start. I know is not a HW problem as other program (blinking one LED) build with other compiler will run without this issues.I got better results by adding HAL_Delay(4000) after HAL_Init() but again when all four ESC (from one quad copter) are powered up from battery, randomly, one or two motors will not start.Already searched the forum and found two similar topics but they are talking about custom made PCB's and separate RESET IC's.

hi,i'm currently working on a project where i want to control a stepper motor via the STM32F446RE board and X-NUCLEO-IHM-03A1 expansion board.To benefit from the X-CUBE-SPN3 software package, i would like to integrate the external c-code to matlab/simulink and use it in my model with the ccaller-block.At this moment i am able to include the necessary .c and .h files, but cannot build the code.I uploaded the occuring error.Thanks for your help.Best RegardsTom

Hi,Is there an example code for start with this kit?. I have tried all code proposed(speed ramp with potenziometer) in STMCW but no one works for me, instead the motor profiler works so i think the harware is OK.I created the project in STMCW ,i generated the code in cubbeMX and finaly i opened CUBEMXIDE for compile and download the code on board, but like i alread say the motor do not moves.I hope in any kind of help.Best.
