STM32 MCUs Motor control

We are currently using a Nucleo F302R8 with the IHM08M1 driver board and the Bull Running BR2804 motor provided with the development kit. We are using ST's X-Cube SPN8, 6-step software and compiled it, unmodified, with Keil MDK 5. Unfortunately, the dev boards and code won’t run the motor. It tries to spin up the motor for a few seconds and then the motor becomes erratic and shuts off. (see attached video) We submitted an ST technical support request 12 days ago but so far no help has occurred. We tried this on (2) different sets of boards with the same results.

I am having the P-Nucleo IHM001. I am trying to generate code using ST Motor Control Workbench, but after building and dumping the code in the controller, the motor is not spinning and two faults are showing up:FOC faultSoftware errorI want to try older SDK (MC SDK V 4.3). Please help.

Hi, I read in the Data Brief of the STEVAL-SPIN3201 module that it can ouput up to 15 Arms of current but I can't find in the schematic why that it. The mosfet used on the board (STD140N6F7) seems capable of higher current output.We want to port the design of the eval board o our custom board but our current requirements are a bit hogher then 15A and wanted to know what we needed to adjust to make it possible, if it is possible..Best regard,PB

Hi all,I have been pulling my hair out trying different ways to reverse my encoder counting direction.The checkbox "reverse counting direction" in Speed Sensing section does not seem to make any difference. I am using Attolic TrueSTUDIO IDE, and the Monitor in WB to check my speed.The corresponding code "#define ENC_INVERT_SPEED        DISABLE" in drive_parameters.h stays "DISABLE" no matter what I set in WB, but if I change measurement errors or FIFO depth settings, they will be changed in the very same source file.I also tried to manually change the code to ENABLE, with no change. Also tried to edit the TIM2 Initialization code and tried downcounting mode (instead of upcounting) with no success.Has anyone had similar issues? Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

We are developing an application to drive dual PMSM motors with STM32H745 and FOC algorithms and resolver sensor. The inner current loops are executed at 10 kHz, PWM carrier frequency is set to 20 kHz. Is it feasible o run the entire application code on M7 only with 30% throughput margin? Does MC_SDK require the use of M4 coprocessor?

I would like to use MCSDK with STM32F405RG, but my problem is, that in MC Workbench, this MCU is not in the list, I found only the STM32F407IG, which is the closest to F405. I tried to generate for F407 (TrueStudio), and than open the CubeMX file, create new project with F405, import the generated one (for F407) and than tried to generate code with CubeMX. But in this way I get many build error (not all the MCSDK files are there, some LL driver files are also missing). What is the correct way to use MCSDK with STM32f405RG?

Hello forum, my goal is to emulate a DC motor family with some electronics and an STM32F446RE.The current setup is, an ECU to control 6 of these motors, 6 coils of the motor family as load, 6 current sensors, running in the STM32, and from there i need 6 frequency modulations back to the ECU. The frequency goes from 5or1Hz up to 5or10kHz.The STM will do current measurement conversion from cur. to freq. and some state machine for testing different behaviers/errors that these motors have. And later on some communication with the PC for better testing.My first approach will be a 100kHz timer decrementing a counter variable for a defined high and low time. Lets say count from 10 to 6 with GPIO high and from 5 to 1 with GPIO low. If counter reaches 0 get new high and low times calculated in the main loop.So my question are: Can i get this leaner? Especially for the processor. I allready use the DMA for ADC conversion so maybe its good for the GPIO as well?

I am developing bldc drives using stm32f103c8t6 MCU. And by using inverter circuit we drive the bldc motor using stm32. Block diagram of drive is shown belowUsing register language, we coded logically for 6 step commutation. And that works fine.But I would like to know if any library is available for stm32f1** (for trapezoidal control). So that i able to see difference and get corrected myself.

When I run code in IAR embedded WB from CubeMX to drive IHM003 motor control dev kit initial project (same as in getting started video) , I have got this error Error[Li016]: size limit exceeded. The application needs 0x86b6 (34'486) bytes, which is greater than the limit of 0x8000 (32'768) bytes.            The limit is due to license "ARM.EW.LINKER" from "bus_voltage_sensor.o" (and 61 other modules).I choose kickstart license due to other is paid and 30days for free. If I turn to 30days trial everything is working normally.Could you please help me on what is wrong with this?

Hello,I am Sai hope you are doing well I am facing some issues with the timers .I am using stm32f4,f7 micro controller to pulse step input of stepper motor driver. I have configured my timer using HAL layer. i want sweep the frequency from 100hz to say 200khz at the rate of few milliseconds(12ms) .In my application peripherals are configured as tim3 as base timer and tim1 as output compare toggle mode(using it for step pulse) and at every timer 3 update event i am updating the period of timer1 in order to change the frequency(without knowing weather update event of tim1 occurred or not ). Everything is working as expected but most of the time my motor takes jerks i am assuming that multiple times updation of tim1 period creating some glitches in step pulse . I dont have any way to confirm.If i generate step pulse using GPIO in output mode then motor is accelerating smoothly without any **** but same thing i want to do us

Hello everyone,I would like to use my setup (using an stm32g431cb) to rotate 3 circle and than rotate 3 circle in the other direction, with 1500 rpm.Now my motor just doing the rotation in one direction continously.  I have a 5V line that I need to step down to 3.3V in order to power the MCU. I can use a switching regulator that I like (http://www.ti.com/product/LM3241) to provide 3.3V with a 6MHz ripple. If that ripple is not acceptable for either the Vdd or Vdda, then I need a different regulator to step down from 5V to 3.8V then an LDO to take the 3.8V to 3.3V which should provide a clean line for Vdd and Vdda.Does the MCU have an internal regulator to clean up the signal? Can anyone point me in the direction of an application note or other resources with more information?Thanks in advance!

i bought your STEVAL-ISC004V1 together with NUCLEO-F072RB to configure to configure NVM over I2C. For this you have the tool: STSW-STUSB001Now i really tried to connect everything like the minimal description in the UM2254 of the STSW-STUSB001, but there is no blinking at all and no connection. I can upload the Nucleo_F072RB_STUSB_NVM_config_1.6.bin to the NODE_F072RB and i can read the DETAILS.txt file(Version: 0221 Build:  Sep 18 2018 11:09:21) but still no blink when i disconnect, connect the board, connect usb-b to NUCLEO-F072RB.Could you please update your software/usermanual or anythink to let me configure the PDO's ?Thanks

On my nucleo board NUCLEO-L073, when i go in stop mode, my consumption is around 1 and 3uA, so all seem to be ok. Then, we decided to make our own board (cf. attached file), with the same code, i consume around 30uA and i really don't know why ??? The only difference is the package, on our own design, we are using a stm32l073 LQFP48 (48pin) whereas on the nucleo this is a 64 pins. As i'm not an expert in electronic, i don't know how to investigate this issue.If you have idea about the possible issue, or if i'm doing something wrong don't hesitate to share.Thank you in advance,Best regards,

(because of Timer1 and T?mer8 has 4 channels.) And I wanna generate 6 PWM in order to drive 3 phase motor. Each 2 PWM (high side and low side) must be complementary and also deadtime is needed.
