STM32 MCUs Motor control

Hi,I'm working in the robotic field and I want to learn more about the solutions provided by st for custom brushless motor control. I want to include the st motor control workbench, to generate the control code, in my workflow. I checked online and there are two very interesting evaluation kit that can be used to start using the stspin32f0 microcontroller that could be the perfect solution for our needs: steval-spin 3201 and the evalkit-robot-1. The last one has the advantages to have also the Maxon motor integrated and the Modbus communication implemented. However I want to use the st motor control workbench to try the motor profiler, to try changing the motor control parameters and modalities. It is possible to use the evalkit-robot-1 with the motor control workbench or I must use only the provided firmware? Thank you in advanceAndrea Fontanelli

I want to use the STEVAL-SPIN3202, but the max voltage is 6.7 V to 45 V.Can't I use 48V as the max voltage? my motor is rated at 48V.I saw that the STD140N6F7 which is incorporated in the design is 60V...thanks

Hi,I am trying to use motor profiler 5.4.4 with B-G431B-ESC1. Every time, Electric model reaches 30 percent quickly and then gradually reaches 38 percent to get the 'too much time' warning after which process fails.I tried different BLDC motors (12 pair-400KV, 7 pair-1900kv)and also tried different supply voltage(12V, 16V, 25V). However result is same. I can also see few other posts which mentions about similar issue, however, they have not been answered. Any help to resolve this is much appreciated.

I have been working on a motor control project for a three phase BLDC motor. So far I have implemented the center aligned PWM output over Timer1 of STM32F303CB. I want to add a current limiting feature such that the PWM gets halted when a current beyond threshold is read.I came across the ETR functionality through ADC remap of the MCU. I have configured the clearing source to be ETR and clear channels enabled. Questions I have:-Is the existing configuration for timer1 as shown in the figure correct? If not what are the required changes.Can I connect my current sensor and set an ADC watchdog for a throshold of current and further trigger the ETR.If yes what is the role of clear source filter. Will it act as a filter for my ADC channel?From the reference manual I found out that the ADC remap is ORed with the ETR. Hi there :),I'll keep it short.I use MCSDK 5.4.3, CubeMX 5.6.0, SW4Problems with encoders and Hall sensors usage at the same time.Renaming of the pins in the CubeMX are not accepted and therefore generate error messages, see Appendix.best regardsAaron

Hello!Im working at inspecting vechicle. It is made of nucleo-446re, DRV8835 motor driver, two DC motors and two optical encoders mounted on motros. The encoders are manufactured by Pololu. First encoder is conected to TIM3 CH1 and CH2 on pins PA6 and PA7. The second is conected to TIM2 CH1 and CH2 on pins PA5 and PB3. The problem is that the motors run at the same speed but one encoder on TIM3 faster read impulses.Im working with STM32CubeMX and STM32CubeIDE. Hello,I am using a custom board and I would like to use the Motor Control Benchs Custom Monitor.As far as I understand I have to activate serical communication and simply generate and flash my custom board.My problem is that I can not connect to my custom board. I thought that this might be the case because I only use an ST-Link to connect to my board (so just 4 cables).Can someone help me out? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to connect something different to the ST-Link adapter?

Dear HelpersI can run a motor with three shunt resistors. Now I tried to use ICS. Firmware was downloaded to STM32F103RC with no error. But when I started to run the motor, Workbench indicated "Unknown" fault. Stop button was clicked it became "Any Stop"What could be wrong ? What should I check ?Thank You

Hy everyone,The electrical speed control example code works the following for me:Starts the motor with PWM, and then stops it after it reached the maximum speed. It turns off the PWM signal. I tried to modify the code to just start the motor but every time it stops. Could you help me what function should or shouldnt I call? The state machine a bit comlicated for me, But even if I do not invite any of the stop functions, it still stops. Thank you!

Hello I am working on a 48V BLDC drive unit and I would like to implement the safety feature "Safe Limitd Speed" according SIL2/3 and PLc/d.In the Motor Control Reference Guide from ST there is "Safety ready: SIL, Class B" as one of the key features of the STM32 microcontroller mentioned.Could this be the base for my requirement?Is it possible to get more detailled information about the safety features of this processor?Are there any application notes vailable?Thank you for your feedback.

Hello friends, i want to read ADC value for particular time. That is, to read the analog value during the middle time of every pwm signal. We're in the process of designing BLDC motor controller for solar pump (1HP and 2HP), we plan to use `STGIB15CH60TS` IPM to drive motor and `STM32F103RC` as controller. We started design using `MotorControl Workbench 5.4.4`, however in this we are not able to figure out pin assignment to be made for Back-EMF signals. We need design six-step motor controller with Back-EMF (sensorless). Could you please guide on how to configure design in `MotorControl Workbench 5.4.4` to utilize Back-EMF feedback to ADC Pins? Hi,I am using the STEVAL-ESC001V1 development kit board with a BlueRobotics T200 motor. The motor runs well with the provided SDK firmware and the motor profiler values, but we are having a couple of issues when changing speeds:The range of the potentiometer maxes out at about 50% turn on either forward or reverse. My PWM range is 1000-2000 and 1500 is "0" since it has forward/reverse. When we switch the motor from forward to reverse (and vice-versa) after going at full-speed for a few seconds, the motor stalls. It makes a whinding "whoop" sound. Could this be addressed by Rev-up by FOC? What settings can I change to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I am using the X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 as a power board and NUCLEO-F303RE as a control board. Using an incremental encoder of 1024CPT I was able to drive the motor as slow as 6RPM, even after several attempts I was unable to achieve any lower speeds. When I request any lower speeds the motor stops and goes into the "lock rotor" meaning the motor stops rotating but still draws current. Thanks In advance Manpreet
