I'm trying to migrate my code away from Platformio, which I've previously been using, to cmake (currently using it with clion and openocd).I've got everything working but when I run my code I run in to one problem.For some reason the PLL is enabled at the start of the main function.I also have this occur when creating a cubemx project and porting that straight to cmake with no custom code at all.The registers are set to the following at the start of main.I can bypass the actual problem which is that I can't configure pll when it's already in use.But this should not be happening. Hi. Recently I started a new personal project, where I'm trying to develop my own SMD-to-female-header PCB for the STM32F207VCT6 MCU chip. After ordering all the parts, doing some reflow soldering, checking that there are no solder bridges, and verifying that each pin properly reaches its corresponding header, I proceeded to connect the following circuit to it. Most of it comes from the AN3320 application note for this chip.In order to program it, I got an FTDI FT232R board and connected it to the chip's USART1 (PA9 and PA10). Hi guys, this is my first post here on the forum. I'm starting my learning in STM and I created a custom board with a STM32F405RGT6, I followed a basic MCU operation schematic that I found in a video on Youtube, but the MCU is not starting. I did several tests to check if the USB connection was correct, if the voltages also worked well and everything is ok. However, I saw that I really don't get a clock from the crystal, the crystal I'm using is already known to me from other projects. So I'm leaving here a print of the connection schematic and if anyone can give me some light on where to look for the problem that causes the MCU to not start, I would be very grateful.:grinning_face: 

Hello everyone, Good day. Recently, I have bought a STM32 Display from Riverdi (model : RVT70HSSNWCA0) .I would like to know how do I communicate an external STM32 Nucleo board with this display? For example : I want to read ADC Value from a potentiometer from the STM32 Nucleo Board and then have it be displayed on the Riverdi LCD. We are also using TouchGFX with Text Areas that have wildcards. How do we achieve something like this? Please provide kind support thank you best regards.

I was planning on buying this STM32 NUCLEO-U5A5ZJ-Q Board but as I was reading the user manual for the board, I realized there were no GPIO connectors for the board but rather there were these "ST Morpho pin headers",I was wondering where the GPIOs were but as I did some experimenting with STM32CubeMX I discovered that I can set the pins in the ST Morpho Pin Headers to GPIO input or Output. Does this mean I can use these headers as the GPIOs of the Nucleo board or are these meant for something else entirely? I'm sorry if this

Using the STM32U5xx MCU - I see that PA4 on STM32U5A5 can be OCTOSPI1_NSS signal as well as SPI1_NSS signal.Now, I want to use SPI1 in parallel with OCTOSPI1 (as QuadSPI). The SPI1 should be a SPI Slave Rx where OCTOSPI1 is my master QSPI Tx.I want to know this:If PA4 is configured, via ALT, as OCTOSPI1_NSS (output)can I configure SPI1 to use HW_NSS signal (also PA4), as an inputand the output signal on PA4 as OCTOSPI1_NSS is routed back as input to SPI1_NSS?What I understand:When I would configure PA4 as SPI1_NSS (via ALT) - it would become an input. OCTALSPI1_NSS would be disconnected as an output.But what if I leave it as a OCTALSPI1_NSS but I configure SPI1 to use HW_NSS signal (but without ALT again)?Would it be connected to the same PA4 signal, but internally, to read how OCTALSPI1_NSS is driven?I mean: can a signal, driven as an output, still be used as an INTERNAL input (for another device)?

I have a problem with USB initialization on those specific MCUs. Initialization function generated automatically by CubeMX hangs on USB_CoreReset function. Specifically on USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST bit which doesn't want to set after the reset. The Cube examples (which are working) use USBPD library only which source is not given so I can't see how initialization is done there.With older USB32U5 where USB_FS phy is embedded everything works fine. Any ideas what should I change to make it working? My goal is to use it with tinyusb library since I don't want to use Azure RTOS or any RTOS in my project

Hi Everyone, I am working with STM32L431CBT6 and STM IDE cube 1.14. I am currently facing the problem that the HAL_delay function is not working. on investigating further I found that SysTick_Handler(void) is never getting called and thus "uwTick" is never getting incremented. I have seen that the systick is working but when ever the counter reaches zero, an interrupt is raised but soon the Stlinl-V3 debugger hangs and restarts.  

I have a project with a STM32H747. I don't use the DSI functionality. I left DSI_CKP, DSI_D0P, DSI_D1N, DSI_D0N, DSI_CKN, and DSI_D1P unconnected. Can I also leave VDDDSI and VCAPDSI unconnected?

hi friends,In STM32F412 microcontroller with HAL LibraryI put timer 2 in encoder mode and everything works fineI want, for example, if the counter reaches 1500, an interruption will occur, but I don't want the counter value to be reset after this interruption.How can I do this?I want the number 1500 to be recognized very quickly. I tried to use the hardware crc for my device stm32f103  . But the STM32CubeMX ( version : 6.10 ) doesnot provide any parameters configuration for this IP. I'm using STM32CubeMX 5.3.0, and RM0410 Rev 4.RM p450 says T_conv = Sampling time + 12 cycles. This is wrong/misleading. Actually, this is the truth:T_conv_total = Sampling time + T_conv_at_a_given_resolution,The converstion times at a given resolution are described under Section 15.7: Fast conversion mode. They are: T_conv_at_a_given_resolution:12 bits --> 12 clock cycles10 bites --> 10 clock cycles8 bites --> 8 clock cycles6 bits --> 6 clock cyclesNotice the pattern here: 1 clock cycle per bit of resolution.Please fix RM p450 to clarify this.RM p452 (15.7 Fast conversion mode) is also wrong/misleading.It says that 12 bits takes 3 + 12 = 15 ADCCLK cycles. What is misleading is the 3. This is only if you have 3 set as your sample time! (see registers p473-474 for the sample times you can choose).

We are having 6 proto boards and out of 6 boards only 3 are working properly, I'll outline my observations: Similarities: All six boards can be programmed/erase the flash.Physically, the orientation of all components is the same for every board.Each board has a proper clock and reset.The BOOT0 pin is pull-downed on all boards.All boards show the same VCAP pin voltage (1.3V). Differences: In working three boards, the board is working as expected, but in the other three, it seems it is not running the program.The overall current consumption of the working board is about 20mA, while the non-working boards have an overall current consumption of about 9mA. Actions taken on the boards: Tested a LED blinking code with an external clo

Hi,we have developed a board with a low resolution camera interface using an STM32L0xx MCU.Now we want to use an HD camera and for this we have a module supporting USB2.0@30fps of 1920H x 1080V frames on USB, so it is really important to use a USB HS @host configuration with full bandwidth untilization (in the range of 400Mbps). We see on product selector, there are STM32F2 and STM32F4 series (few par numbers) supporting OTG with host USB HS, but we do not see detailed information regarding the actual performance of those chips in host USB HS mode. Is possible to have a confirmation about the performance of that interface? Are there benchmarking data?    

Hi all,I'm investigating what I need to be able to update the firmware on my custom STM32 board (with either an STM32H7 or STM32F7 MCU) from a C#/C++ Microsoft Visual studio application via USB. This is for Windows 7/10/11.I found STSW-STM32080 but it says not recommended for new designs and that it was replaced by STM32CubeProgrammer (CLI specifically). I want my application to do the upgrading of the firmware without the customer having to install any additional software (like STM32CubeProgrammer).Does STM32CubeProgrammer have any redistributable libraries to do this? Is there a better way to do this?Thanks

Hello Team,I am unable to configure ADC multiple channels in NUCLEO-H745ZI if I configure multiple channel ADC, voltage at channel 1is same as channel 2 but I have supplied channel 1 voltage as 3.3v and channel 2 voltage as 1.6v but it is reflecting 3.3v in both channels. I am looking into RAM support for the SMT32H750 series chips for my future projects.The STM32H750 series chips support 16-bit data bus as well as 32-bit data bus configuration. This mode is selected on startup, as far as I can tell.If I were to use the STM32CubeMX tool to configure my chip, would a switch from a 16 bit to a 32-bit bus (and vice versa) require a significant re-generation of support code, or would it be realtively easy to toggle this (ignoring the pin reassignments)?I would test this myself but it seems like all development kits for this series have a 16-bit data bus...

Hello,I am using a NUCLEO-H743ZI2.I read the reference manual RM0433 Rev8.I also read a bunch of topics in the forum but didn't find what I wanted. I am trying to check my ADC sampling rate by looking at the timestamp at my half full/full callback from the DMA buffer. For now I don't have an AWG to generate a sine so I don't know other method to do so.In order to do the experiment, I generate a number via the microcontroller and increases it by 100 every second. It goes to the DAC. I put a jumper cable to the ADC1 so I can read the value.I want a sample rate of 10ksample/second with a ADC resolution of 12bits.I changed the value of PLL2 in order to have a ADC frequency of 1.2MHz
