Hi everyone,For my current project, I am working with an STM32WB55RGV. I am using all 256 KB of its RAM and running the ADC1 at a sample rate of 5.8 MSPS with 8-bit resolution.I am looking to migrate to a newer STM32 family that provides equivalent (or more) RAM and supports this high ADC performance. I plan to order some standalone chips and devkits for prototyping. Compact devkits would be a huge plus.During my research, I found the STM32H523CCT6 chip and the NUCLEO-H533RE devkit at a good price. Do you think this is the best choice for my needs? Also, are there other "mini" devkit options (like the Nucleo-32) that come with a large amount of RAM?Thanks in advance!

Hi I am trying to figure out these VCAP conections.From the datasheet I could look like they are internally connected together, for this reason could avoid routing these three pads together on my board.Can anybody confirm that is the case?Thank you.

Hello everyone,I am working on my bachelor thesis about sensorless Field-Oriented Control (FOC) for a three-phase BLDC motor.At the moment, I have a NUCLEO-F303RE board, a small BLDC motor, an ESC, and a power supply. I have already generated and measured PWM/SPWM signals from TIM1 channels on the STM32, but I understand that using an ESC with a 50 Hz throttle signal is not the same as directly generating three-phase PWM for FOC.For this reason, I am considering using an X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1 motor driver expansion board with my NUCLEO-F303RE board.My question is:Can the NUCLEO-F303RE + X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1 combination be used for a sensorless FOC thesis project? More specifically, can this board act as the required three-phase motor driver/inverter stage so that I can implement or test sensorless FOC with STM32 Motor Control SDK or m

Hi everybody.I'm currently trying to use the N6 Nucleo for a personal application but am having trouble starting the debugger after initially successes. I am using the Nx_TCP_Echo_Server example, and after a couple of successful iterations my debugger stopped working entirely.I am using the VSCode extension. When I start my debug session with ST-Link GDB server it will connect to the debugger, but an error will follow in the terminal as shown ("target not responding"). After disconnecting and re-initializing the debugger I will get the following error ("error in intializing... please check power"). I get the same issues after power-cycling the board. LED 2 (Red) will then remain off until I power cycle the board after the first error.

Hello,I am working with the B-L4S5I-IOT-01A board (MCU: STM32L4S5VIT6) and attempting to load a .hex file using the UART bootloader via USART1 (PB6, PB7).Since this USART is connected by default to the ST-LINK interface, I removed the necessary resistors (R42, R43) to isolate the ST-LINK connection. I then provided direct RX/TX connections from the MCU side through the corresponding pads.However, I am unable to detect the MCU UART in the STM32 Programmer IDE. The device does not appear or respond during the bootloader communication attempt.Could you please guide me on the correct procedure to:Properly enable UART boot mode on this board

Hello everyone,this is my first time building an STM32 Based Board myself.I am trying to talk to the Chip Using a CP2102 UART Bridge connected to PA9 & 10.For Reset and Boot 0 ive connected Reset (NRST) to RTS of the UART Bridge and Boot0 to its GPIO0 Pin and configured that Pin in the Bridge. I have however also tried just pulling Boot0 High and Jumping NRST to GND and then immediately connecting using STM32CubeProgrammer.Using an Oscilloscope ive found that the Magic Packet is sent to the STM32 (0x7F, 115200 Baud, Even Parity, 1 Stop) but there is no response (Tx of the STM32 stays high all the Time).PB15 is left floating, I am using the VIT6 Variant (The LQFP100 Package), its a Brand new Chip, is there any configuration required before this works?

Hello,   in an earlier post it was suggested to reset the FDCAN for full error recovery using RCC_APBRSTR1.FDCANRST Bit This bit seems to be global for all FDCAN instances. Is it correct that full error recovery in one FDCAN instance is not possible without interrupting traffic in the other instance - as all (or both in case of stm32g0b1) instances have to be reset?   t

Hello all, Split from this thread: I'm using an STM32U5G9 and I need to read files from a USB stick. I don't want to use ThreadX because I have to keep this application small. How can I achieve this if UsbX and FileX are supposed to be used only with ThreadX and not in standalone mode?   Thanks for your help. Best regards, Julien

Can anyone explain this footer note in the electirical characteristics sheet for the STM32F777xx STM32F778AxSTM32F779xx. on page 110.2. 216 MHz maximum frequency for 6 suffix version (200 MHz maximum frequency for 7 suffix version). I am using the STM32F779NI. Is the suffix 7 or 9? I dont see it specificed anywhere. Thanks!  

Hi all,I really hope someone can shed some light on this...I am trying to find any information regarding the accuracy of the internal temperature sensor of the STM32H7 family, more specifically the STM32H743XIH6.I understand that each device is factory calibrated to improve the accuracy, however I cannot find what the accuracy actually is, I mean, I cannot find any official source of information, I've seen some saying that it is ±1.5C, but nothing in the ST documentation.Any help is appreciated.Thanks  

Heyho,I recently started using ITCM SRAM in my H733 project, functions there working well.Then I thought that it might make sense to also copy the vector table and some interrupt handlers to ITCM.And this for the custom bootloader (BL) and the application.... and now I have some strange effect when jumping back and forth:jump BL to app: no problems at all, both the "auto-jump" after reset / power-up is working, so does a manually triggered jumpjump app to BL: and here it hangs, and so does the debugger...I'm basically using the same functions with different addresses, and in main also doing the same at start: copying the vector table to ITCM.... and now that I almost completed this post, I found that I moved the SysTick init after the peripheral clock init in the bootloader, and this uses the SysTick. Oh my... nothing to do with ITCM.Always good to write things down! :D

Hello,I am working on a design incorporating the STM32U3C5CIU6Q in SMPS mode. This package includes two VDD11 pins. I am having trouble interpreting the datasheet when it comes to the number of inductors I will need. This note under Figure 24 in the datasheet is clear that each pin will need a capacitor to VSSSMPS, but it seems like it could also imply that each VDD11 pin requires its own inductor between VLXSMPS.The power supply scheme (with SMPS) is also not clear to me: 

Hello,I am using STM32U5G-DK1 Discovery kit and need to store a large amount of data in on-board OSPI flash. Now, the example code by STM32 for this kit uses this OPSI flash in Memory-mapped mode. This mode is good to store an small amount of data but time-consuming when writing a large data to this Flash. Therefore, I need to use this Flash in Indirect mode where I can write to flash Page by Page. There is some contradictory information about the available sizes. AN4879 mentions that the available SRAM size is 1.25kBytes for OTG_FS:In the reference manual RM0433 I can only find 4kB for both OTG_HS peripherials, where OTG_HS1 is used for OTG_FS:

Greetings,I am working on a project involving RTC and TAMP mechanism of U5 series MCUs, specifically STM32U585. I have some questions about the working principle of the TAMP pins. In the reference manual RM0456, it is written that the TAMP pins checks if the line is opened or it is shorted (Section 64.1: "Active tamper which increases the security level by auto checking that the tamper pins are not externallyopened or shorted.").I was able to make the open circuit detection work but I couldn't make the shorting detection work, that might be my fault though. The shorting detection is available in U585 right? Also I was wondering how precise is the shorting detection? Let's assume I have a 50 meters long transmission line, can it detect if the line is shorted about 50 centimeters (the line is now 45.5 meters)? If not, how much length of the tranmission line must be removed to make the TAMP pins detect it? In addition, should I do anything to

I am able to flash the binary into external flash memory successfully. However, I am facing issues with handling multiple binaries and execution flow.Issues:FSBL & Application Binary FlashingI have two separate binaries (FSBL and Application). When TxRSTU and RETRIG are enabled with CONT disabled, will the timer still trigger a register update when it's counter reaches it's PER value? Since it says in the image below that the PER event is generated but says it re-starts from 0 when it's reset but doesn't mention roll-over, and the image above says it'll update registers on timer reset and rollover. Essentially what I'm asking is does it count as a roll-over when the timer reaches its period value when CONT=0? Since I need to know if it'll update it's registers at the end of it's period or no.

I am using an stm32u585, specifically the b-u585i-iot02a development kit board.I set up a basic project using stm32cube ide to test clock configurations. System is clocked from the MSIS at 24MHz with PSC of 1 -> HCLK is 24MHz.I enabled the RNG peripheral, clocked with the HSI48. In the default SystemClock_Config() function I commented out the code related to enabling the HSI48. RNG initialization is left as default.Interestingly, the RNG can still generate random numbers with HAL_RNG_GenerateRandomNumber(). The MX_RNG_Init() function succeeds as well.Reading HSI48ON and HSI48RDY bits from the status registers give both values as 0.How is the RNG still working and generating valid numbers?Another curiosity: In this state, the whole MCU takes less power than if I leave the SystemClock_Config() as generated (explicitly enabling the HSI48). See code snippets below: System clock config

Hi everyone,I am currently facing a very frustrating issue while trying to interface an AP Memory APS51208N (Octal PSRAM) with an STM32H723 via the OctoSPI peripheral.To avoid reinventing the wheel, I recently refactored my initialization code to use the official ST aps512xx library (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-aps512). I'm using read and write latency set to 7.Unfortunately, the peripheral is still not working properly, and I am experiencing three distinct, highly erratic behaviors:1. Weird Register Read Pattern When I try to read the memory control registers using the BSP functions, the returned values are incorrect and seem to form a repeating sequence rather than actual register data. Here is what I get for MR0 to MR8:Array[0] (MR0) = 0x08
