STM32 MCUs Wireless

I attempted to update the network stack through SWD on a few STM32WB55 nucleo boards, dongles, and custom PCBs. The results were similar in all cases. Hi all,I using Nucleo STM32WB55 and bootloader from STM (STM_OTA). For update firmware I using for now STM32CubeMonitor-RF and stm32WB USB DONGLE (which is part of nucleo kit). Now I would like to do this in other way - other tools, CLI, scripts...Is some other tools to use to get access to BLE characteristics read/write and update firmware, some kind may CLI (STM32CubeMonitor-RF - i don't found any commands) or script in pyton or other laguage ?I found BlueST-SDK but in my opinion don't work with nucleo STM32WB55 - I have issuess when try update firmware :~/Downloads/BlueSTSDK_Python/blue_st_examples $ sudo python3 example_ble_6.py   ################## # BlueST Example # ##################   Scanning Bluetooth devices...   Discovery started. Hi,I'm playing around HSEM module and i noticed strange behavior. Why calling:HAL_HSEM_FastTake(HSEM_ID_0);orHAL_HSEM_Take(HSEM_ID_0, 0);lock all semaphores at once instead of just locking single semaphore specified by a macro using 0 as processid?Then calling release will unlock only the one specified macro and we end up with 31 semaphores locked unintentionally.

Hello,when specifying "use low level driver" for RTC in "Project Manager->Advanced Settings" of ioc editor in STM32CubeIDE, the generated code of the STM32_WPAN does not compile anymore, since it needs the drivers in "HAL version". It must also compile in "LL version".I even would say, all your distributed sample code should be as default "LL", since this is optimized in execution time and code size. HAL should be only "additional" with lower priority.Best regardsPaul

We are building a custom 4-layer PCB with STM32WB55RGV6 and would like to know if we can use MLPF-WB55-01E3 instead of discrete components. If yes, what is the PCB stack-up?Please let us know if this is feasible. Thanks in advance.regards,Kishan

The power supply diagram shows the vssa pin of the chip, but it is not specified in the Pinout. It is also not clear the vddpa designation(= VDDRF1V5 or VDDSMPS) and why it is not connected anywhere. I also didn't find any information about vssrf. do you have a recommended connection scheme?

Looking for more information on how exactly a scan is performed when an active connection to peripheral already exists. How is the RF radio shared in between the scan and connection? Can the connection interval be maintained during the scanWindow or can it only be maintained in the remaining time left in the scanInterval? I'm using the P-NUCLEO-WB55 development board, with only USB (CDC Device) enabled/configured through the STM32CubeIDE.I'm sending data from my laptop to the board over USB CDC (Virtual Com Port) in Full-Speed mode.Specifically, my laptop is sending 1041 bytes, and I'm using the following (simple) Python script (it depends on pyserial):import serial   s = serial.Serial('/dev/cu.usbmodem206F389630361 or COM3 or /dev/ttyACM0')   msg = bytearray(1041) for i in range(0, len(msg)): msg[i] = 0xA5   print(s.write(msg))When I run this script on Linux or Windows 10, everything works fine, i.e. the board receives the 1041 bytes sent by the laptop.However, when I run this script on macOS, a lot of packets are lost. I'm not sure which ones specifically, but the board receives between 400 and 900 bytes instead of 1041.Is it a macOS USB driver problem?Any tips?

Hello,I have connected a BNO055 Sensor via I2C to a STM32WB Nucleo board. The sensor data is send by a BLE Service without problems after powering the device.However, if I change the code and upload via STM32CubeIDE or press the reset button on the device, the I2C connection seems broken... I do receive a HAL error from time to time... Question: is there a way to securely reset all pins apart from pressing RESET or is this more likely to be my software's problem?

why in the debug mode the usb is stop working ? I want to debug my code step by step but usb port is aromatically disconnected in debug mode

I'm building a thread application on STM32WB55, and to address individual device I require a static address that should not change after every power reset sequence, and in my opinion that could factory programmed MAC or 802.15.4 EUI64. For the moment I'm runningThread_CLI example code from ST and whenever I try to fetch MAC I get a randomnumber. Also I don't see any address/Serial number mentioned ondevelopment board as it does by various other 2.4GHz RF device vendors. @Remi QUINTIN​ 

Empty code initialized peripherals(UART,SPI) code generated by STM32CubeIDE give error undefined reference to lpuart1_irqhandler at compile time.In stm32wb50 only UART, SPI ,I2C & RF communication channel available.Startup file has lpuart1_irqhandler , which is wrong .if I can remove that line(line 197) from startup file it compile and run properly otherwise not. Hi,I start a project with a custom board with STM32WB55 MCU on it.I wrote a simple code to work with PWM output at 100kHz on the channel 4 of TIM1 with 50% duty cycle. When I check the signal on the pin A11 all is ok.Then I start à new project from BLE_p2pServer_ota example project and I merge my previous code. And I have a weird behaviour on my signal.It looks like the right pwm signal for about 3 to 5 cycles then it stuck at "0" or "1" for some µs then my signal goes pwm again then stuck and so on.I think there is some mecanism that goes to sleep sometimes causing the pwm to stop and resume but I didn't find where I can tune this up.BLE p2p containt a huge amount of code, could someone help me targeting where the problem may come?Thanks

Hello everyone,ive bought a Nucleo STM32WB55 evaluation board (MB1355C) + Dongle (MB1293C), which ive played around a bit for a while now with trying out different examples from the STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.5.0 Firmware package.My goal is to use the STM32WB55 on a custom board (which ive already layouted) in a battery powered application to transfer a constant stream of data (ADC values) to the Nucleo Board (MB1355C) , which should act as a GATT Server, and the custom board should be the GATT Client.Would it be feasible to use the examples from the firmware package (i.e. "BLE_DataThroughput") and to modify them for my application, or would it be better to start from scratch using CubeMX for my custom board? Or is there any other, better way?

Hi,I am using STM32CubeIDE version: 1.3.1 to program the STM32WB50CGU5, but when connecting in debug mode, the program reports that the connected MCU is STM32WB55xx. So my project, based on STM32WB50xx is not working at all, but if I change the MCU with the STM32WB55xx everything works fine.So, the printed code on the MCU is reporting correctly STM32WB50CGU5, but it seems to not be that MCU, according with the IDE.Could you help me?You can find below the IDE's report.Lorenzo
