STM32 MCUs Wireless

Hi, After connecting STM32WB55 eval-kit nucleo board with USB to RS232 cable for debugging the board I see some special(non-readable) characters on debug terminal. I tried few of STM projects but all are giving the same results. These are the serial port settings I used: Baud - 115200 Parity - None Data - 8 & 7(tried both) Stop bit - 1Any idea how to fix it?Regards,Sach

I am trying HandsOn4 example for STM32WB55 using firmware version 1.7. The one I am following is based on firmware 1.0. STM32CubeMX with firmware 1.7, has changed the code generation making the original hands on example even more difficult to follow. Is there any sample code showing the generation of custom BLE server services and characteristic. The example I am building seems to be working but when running fails to get any service events when the client tries to access any of the service characteristics.Function: void Custom_APP_Notification(Custom_App_ConnHandle_Not_evt_t *pNotification)seems to be called whenever I connect or disconnect, but function: void Custom_STM_App_Notification(Custom_STM_App_Notification_evt_t *pNotification) which may be used whenever I try to access a service characteristic is not called. The function is not even linked I believe. It may be it needs registering, so I am sure I am missing something. Any hints will be appreciated.

I want to do LoRaWAN FUOTA so can i use STM32L1 for that application?In the I-CUBE-LRWAN embedding FUOTA, they only mentioned STM32L4 series MCU.

HiThis is the first time I`m working with STM32 devices apologizes for the beginner questionsI bought an STM32WB55 NucleO Pack (ST part # - NUCLEO-WB55). My intention is to tweak the demo application so that dongle passes same data (readings from internal temperature sensor) to nucleo board. I though I could use USB_USER to download firmware but I don`t think this is the case. With the documentation I could find, ST-LINK is mandatory to flash an firmare even if I don`t want to debug. Q1 : Could you let me know what is the use of USB_USER ?Q2:And what ST-LINK debugger I need so I can download/debug my code ? I can`t find an ST-LINK with Micro-B connector.Obviously I need to change the software in dongle too. And it doesn`t even have an jtag port on it . Hi, I am trying to design an App for Android and IOS, so I need to use an Bluetooth 4.0 . The problem is that I work with STM32F4 Discovery board, and it won't correctly communicate with the BLE (I think, I'm using a SH-HC-08 and also tried SH-06). When I tried to connect it works, but it's not capable to transmit any information. I am using the UART functions and when I tried it with an HC-05 (Bluetooth 2.0) It works correctly: Is there an incompatibility problem? Do I have to use another function? If that is the case, can you suggest me some resource instead or guide me in the right direction?Could you please give me a hand?Thank you in advance. Raquel.

Hi, I'm having some difficulties implementing an SPI communication on the STM32WB55 example "Peripheral Lite". I've started from scratch with CubeMX and a i've set up SPI and UART and obtained a working firmware that correctly communicates with an accelerometer, printing values on PC console. Now I'm trying to migrate my code to the Peripheral Lite example and I don't understand why SPItransmit gets stuck in a loop waiting for TXE flag to be set.I'm suspecting this is caused by the differences between firmwares' clock configurations.I am not able to fully understand the initialization code and, by the way Peripheral Lite is written , it doesn't seem possible to use CubeMX generator. Could somebody check my code? We have been trying to extend the service over P2P server BLE application . We are trying to add custom template to the existing P2P server project for Bluetooth. When we add custom template through cube Mx generator , the existing line is getting deleted from appl_ble.cP2PS_APP_ConnHandle_Not_evt_t handleNotification; this line is getting deleted from appl_blle.cSome of the events are added to the same file like EVT_BLUE_GAP_KEYPRESS_NOTIFICATION, EVT_BLUE_GAP_PASS_KEY_REQUEST and these events are already existing.and hence we are getting build errors. We cannot extend existing Button and LED project to add new servicesWe have to bypass existing service Button and LED service and then to continue with new custom service which is added by Cube MX.We would like to know the reason for elimination of P2PS_APP_ConnHandle_Not_evt_t handleNotification; in appl_ble.c .RegardsNagendra.G

What is the maximum throughput of the STM32WB series actually tested to?As far as I know, nRF82532 central can support 20 links at the same time, how many links can STM32WB central support at the same time?

There is a problem in STM32WB Firmware version in 1.5 and 1.7. In !.5 version Touch sensing is not working and BLE is working fine but In version !.7 Touch sensing is working fine and BLE is not working. Please give me any suitable solution or please update it.

Hi,i have a system with 4 demoboard STM32WB55NUCLEO and 3 STM32WB55DONGLE. One nucleo is a P2P Client, the other 6 are P2P Server. I have modified the examples P2PClient and P2PServer for:direct advertise the client from the 6 serverspair with PASSKEY ENTRY methodhandle up to 8 connectionsWhat happens: the connection manager that i created in the client connects and pair the servers one by one. The connection, pairing and communication work fine.When I reboot a server, the client retreive an EVT_DISCONN_COMPLETE in which the state of the connection "i" is reset to APP_BLE_IDLE. When the connection manager relaunch the aci_gap_create_connection to reconnect the server, the return is the error 0x41, that is not in the standard return values of the function.What is the mistake? Do i have to call some particular function in the EVT_DISCONN_COMPLETE for reset some status? What does mean that error code?

Hello , In ProceessTxDone -- receive delay 1 set for 1000 receive delay 2 set for 2000when the MAX_RX_WINDOW set to 3000 the application wont work , which means the second timer event callback wont work e.g ... PHY txDone PHY rx timeout and code stucks afterwoedsbut when I set my MAX_RX_WINDOW to 1000 , the application works .e.g PHY txDone PHY rx timeout PHY rxtimeout ...and continues without any problem what could be the issue?I am using STM32L083CZ and clock set to 8MHz .Please guide me through this.Thank you very much

I follow the exact same procedure. I generate code, set GPIO and clock in Cube MX. Open the file in System Workbench. Initialize all the pins right. I should be connecting the ESP8266 pins to the expansion board right ? This expansion board is connected to the nucleo using the SWD connector. I feel like I'm missing a step. I ran the example data logger project which works fine on the sensortile.

Hi,According to the datasheet I must supply 3.3V to VDDUSB when USB is in use, but my question is - Can I connect 3.3V LDO directly to VBUS, so that when USB is not present - USBVDD pin is 0V. Its is unclear whether this works from the datasheet. In one place it says I can have 0V there, in other - that I MUST connect it to VDDThanks,Tim

Hi,I am using STM32WB to do development. Since SDK1.7 has been released with some issues fixed, I want to show the BLE stack version in debug log to prevent using old stack version but it seems no HCI API to do so. I only can use the command "VS_HCI_C1_DEVICE_INFROMATION" in transparent mode to get BLE stack version.

Hey guys,ive build a small custom pcb for the STM32WB55, much like the Usb Dongle (MB1293C, attatched schematic).Without the µC the board is running fine, its mostly analog stuff + a 16 bit ADC for measuring strain gauges.Even after having placed the µC and its bypass caps + oscillators, there are no issues. As soon as i place the inductor (10µH) for its internal switch mode power supply, the board runs for 10-15 minutes. After that the 3V3 supply crashes and my switching regulator (MAX15062A) goes into hiccup mode, without being able to establish a constant supply voltage.With no fault, powered down, GND to 3V3 rail resistance is about 100Ohms. After fault it goes down to about 5-10 Ohm. And it does not seem to recover after letting the board unpowered for a while.My suspicion is that theres an internal short circuit inside the µC, apparently due to layout errors, although i tried to keep it close to the r

When running one of my STM32WB55 projects, I can see wrong, constantly varying variable values in the Live Watch window of the IAR IDE, i.e. values that are not actually stored in that watched variable.As soon as I pause the execution of the program, I always see the correct values.I do write the variables only once after start-up of the MCU but to read them repeatedly every approx. 350 us in a timer ISR. The variables are declared static.If I enable a write-operation data breakpoint on the address of one of the variables, no break happens after start-up. If I enable a read-operation data breakpoint on the address, a break happens repeatedly however. Hence, I suppose the program does what I expect it to do.Now, I noticed that if the clock of DMA2 is enabled using __HAL_RCC_DMA2_CLK_ENABLE(), the displayed values don't change anymore after start-up. Hello, I am trying to upgrade BLE stack to version 1.6.0 and there is strange issue.I can upgrade the stack through SWI/ST-LINK.The problem is with upgrading the stack over the air. I have no problems with older versions. STM32WB configuration: FUS 1.1.0, BLE stack 1.5.0, BLE OTA, BLE_HeartRate_ota.I use android smartphone with ST BLE Sensor App.When I am trying to upgrade the stack I got the information on the phone "download completed". The STM32WB resets and after this it is bricked. Even through SWI/ST-LINK I can not connect to the microcontroller. Anyone tries to do it and deals with the same isssue?Best Regards

Hello.I'm trying to get BLE_MeshLightingLPN project to a buildable state, but it just doesn't work.I'm using TrueStudio 9.3, STM32WB Cube package v1.7.0, AN5292 (How to build a Bluetooth® Low Energy mesh application for STM32WBx5 microcontrollers).Whatever I do, there are always missing includes, missing definitions, conflicting definitions, duplicate definitions (even when file search finds only one; duplicate in the library?), e.t.c.Are there an archive with a ready-to-buid project? Or is anyone successful willing to share how they achieved that or even the project itself?Thanks.

I have a question , i will highly appreciate for the answer.Currently i am using I cube Lorawan Stack V1.3.1 its compiling and working well with my Nucleo Board+ Sx1262 . But when i copy pasted the working code from another project in which HAL libraries used . In this project i interfaced the DS1307/TLV493D , read the data from it and displayed on UART perfectly .After copy pasting all the code(DS1307/TLV493D) into the I cube Lorawan with all the variables with zero error . Program failed to work . I debugged the issue . Which i found is thatIn working code of (DS1307/TLV493D) internal registers of I2C were updating in debug mode . I'm using low level commands to send SPI data to a flash part. I'm in master mode and am using the following 3 commands(just testing) and see 16 clock pulses for each of these.WRITE_ENABLE_CMD = 0x06 and using the 8bit routine I see 0x06 sent on the upper 8 bits, 0 on the lower but still 16 clock pulses.Using 16 bit command I see 0x06 on the upper 8 bits and 0x06 on the lower 8 bits.Using spi.Instance->DR = 0x06 it's on the lower 8 bits and if I set it to 0x0600 it's on the upper 8 bits. My part, to send a write enable command, has to have 0x06 in 8 clocks (1 byte) and then CS needs to go high or the part will ignore the command.LL_SPI_TransmitData8(spi.Instance,WRITE_ENABLE_CMD);LL_SPI_TransmitData16(spi.Instance,WRITE_ENABLE_CMD);spi.Instance->DR = WRITE_ENABLE_CMD; Is there any way to just send 8 bit bytes one a a time even though the DR register is 16 bits?Thanks
