Posted on March 26, 2018 at 16:28Hi!I'm curently using the B-L072Z-LRWAN1 (STM32L072 and LoRa board) with the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V1.1.4, and i'm trying to reduce the current consumption using this board.I'm currently running into a high current draw from the power supply (when i'm forcing the board to get into stop mode at the first line possible in the main, i still draw over 3mA from the power supply)I've tried to reduce the leakage from various ways (removed D2, no LED active, removed R19 to remove the link between battery and ST-link)However i'm still unable to guess where does the extra mA are going...At the start of my main, i'm using the insctruction HAL_PWR_EnterSLEEPMode(PWR_MAINREGULATOR_ON, PWR_SLEEPENTRY_WFI) (i've tried with stop and standby aswell, same current draw) and getting about 3.4mA at all time...During normal use, my current usage is about 25mA when transmitti

Posted on March 21, 2018 at 10:52Hi,I designed a custom PCB collecting data using a STM32L432KC, and transmitting it through a Nordic nrf52832 over BLE to a smartphone.After this final prototype, I'd like to go to a Industrial architecture and adding the DFU OTA for both uC.About the OTA DFU for the nordic, it is well documented. Posted on March 13, 2018 at 23:07Hi,I have b-l072Z-LRWAN1 + SigFox SDR dongle. I added Node's ID to SENK (network emulator), then I loaded AT command and push button examples from X-CUBE-SFOX, and nothing worked. When I sent a frame, it seems that software gets pending and nothing works again util I reset the device. Note: I connected JP9 to pin 1 and 2. and PAC is set to Zeros.Does anyone have an idea about the issue? It does the job, and we are very happy with it.We do have some problems keeping track of versions and issues. Mostly because the LoRa middleware comes from the Semtech Lora-net/LoRaMac-node development branch but isn't an exact 1:1 copy of the Semtech Lora-net/LoRaMac-node.If we try to keep up with the Semtech Lora-net/LoRaMac-node repository, by patching issues found there into I-Cube-Lrwan's LoRa\Middleware we still need to do a diff on every new release of i-cube-lrwan to see if all the Semtech Lora-net/LoRaMac-node are still there. You can imagine it like simple thermometer which periodically send the new measured data to Gateway. I read many topics about ABP/ OTAA activation, but it is still not clear to me which activation for this my device is possible.My existing knowledge:1) When I use the OTAA - I will have to set in my end-device AppKey, AppEUI and maybe DevEUI which I get from TTN - So it looks like inapplicable for me, is not it? Because In first I will program my device (with HEX file), but the AppKey, App EUI, DevEUI I (user) will know much much later.2) Whe I use the ABP - I will have to set in my end-device Device Adress which I get also from TTN and Network Session Key with App Session Key I can probably know in advance but also I have to guarentee that these 2 keys will be unique - but how?I hope my ques

Posted on January 31, 2018 at 19:15Hi,I have B-L072Z-LRWAN1 board from ST running I-CUBE-LRWAN software for LoRaWAN, and RHF0M301 gateway from RisingHF.I am testing a class C and I have an issue in downlink, here is the scenario: Node transmit an uplink to server, then a delay for 30s to transmit the next packet.During that time I send a packet from server, it is received by gateway ( INFO: [down] a packet will be sent in �immediate� mode)But it is not sent to node immediately, node receives the packet before the timeout, then process the next uplink immediately. (For example, at 28s it receives the packet, at 30s it process the next uplink)So, what is the reason of this problem? How can I solve it?In my viewpoint, It could be caused by the gateway (no immediate transmit), or configurations in node.Best regards. #lora #lorawan

Posted on January 11, 2018 at 07:54 I have a Murata LoRa SOC from which I have made up a custom board and I am flashing code using UART which wasn't successful until help from https://community.st.com/people/Turvey.Clive.002‌ Now I am using stm32flash open source software for flashing of code but after successful flashing I still am not even able to blink a LED using the flashed code. While the software did work when flashed to DISCOVERY kit. I reckon this must be because the ICs aren't shipped with bootloader? Is it? But then how did the flashing work? I am so confused. Posted on December 16, 2017 at 05:53Hello everyone, this is a problem regarding my DISCO-L072CZ-LRWAN kit which I am using for a project of mine.I am using the LRWAN expansion kit for LoRa functionality while I am also trying to add up a UART as UART1 on Pin 9/10. While using this UART, I am trying to use the HAL drivers especially HAL_UART_Receive function which receives N number of character and has a timeout given by the user which I am giving as 0x00FF. Internally this function takes sysTick using Get_HAL_Tick() but as the LoRa function has initialized all LL drivers, the getting systick function from HAL does not work. Which means that there will be no timeout and I have to specify the number of characters to be received, which is bizarre.I hope you understood my problem. Please try and help with solution or any other alternative.If you have any solution for UART which solves this problem please reply.#b-l072z-lrwan1

Posted on May 03, 2017 at 11:42Does anyone have any experience with the current consumption when using B-L072Z-LRWAN1 (STM32L072 and LoRa board) with i-cube-lrwan 110?I can't get the current consumption below below 1.1mA no matter what i try. In lowpower (stop) mode all pins are set as analog, clocks are disabled, debug is off.- I checked the device going into STOP mode- Configured all non-connected pins to GPIO_MODE_ANALOG, GPIO_NOPULL- Configured connected pins (UART, etc.) to GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP, GPIO_NOPULL, and set to zeroI also stopped the debug clock in the ARM:  __HAL_RCC_DBGMCU_CLK_ENABLE( );  HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGSleepMode( );  HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGStopMode( );  HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGStandbyMode( );Also TCXO is Off.Still the current consumption is above 1 mA.Anyone out there that managed to get the current down?Thanks!

On my other device i am able to get 19 dbm of power using same sx1272 module.I tried writing the PADAC and PACONFIG registers separately as well still my power is not going above 14.6 dBm.Any help would be greatly appreciatedThanks#nucleo-l073rz #lora #sx1272

Interrupts for the sensor are not being used. The sensor is set to bypass mode at 50 Hz ODR and the data is read by polling. Following is the sequence happening in the main loop: while(1) 1)enter stop mode 2)wake-up by rtc after 20 ms 3)read sensor data (x,y,z) 4)accumulate the data 5) do processing 6)sendData(processed data); 7)delay for 3 seconds 8)go to step 1While functionality is working fine, this doesn't seem to be a power efficient method. Posted on November 16, 2017 at 23:52I purchased three B-L072Z-LRWAN1 nodes yesterday and started my long awaited experimenting. The distance while maintaining stable communication between two B-L072Z-LRWAN1 nodes is a bit of a dissapointment. After having used nRF24 + PA + LNA and reaching up to 1km, I was now hoping for a miracle in a tiny pack While the LoRa community claims >15km, I can barely get 1km with these units. I presume 15km is an extrem. However I hope things can be done better (at least up to 5km).Some obvious concerns are the antenna supplied in the box. It is a 4cm one. Another concern is antenna imedance matching. As it says on the schematics, temporarily replaced by 0Ohm resistors. Does anyone have an idea what this means? Has anyone tried to populate those pads with macthing components? Did it help?Please share your thoughts on improving distance with B-L072Z-LRWAN1#b-l072z-lrwan1
