STM32 MCUs Motor control

I had a few questions that I was hoping someone could help clear up. I am trying to just use the interface timer for speed calculations. When I am reading the documentation it states 3 channels are tied together to cause a trigger, what if my encoder only has 2 channels? In the timing diagram it looks like 3 channels are needed for the pulses to trigger evenly. Next question, if I can use the hall interface documentation with 2 channels, when would be the best time to sample the speed after I change PWM? Should I just keep having it sample forever, and wait for a delayed amount of time? or should I change the CCR value, wait for the timer1 overflow to cause an interrupt, enable the interface timer and then calculate the speed, then disable and rinse and repeat?Last question, I am assuming to find the speed, its just the counter times the speed of the counter and then use the revolution of the ticks to find RPM. Hello,May I know how open the board STM32100B-eval or EVSPIN32F0601s1? I mean the FOC on either of these two boards is established. And the current loop, velocity and position loop are all controlled by PID. I wonder, is it possible that I use the firmware of FOC for either of these two boards, but replace the PID by my own control algorithm? Hope to get your suggestions. Thanks!

Hi, I am using the NUCLEO-F303RE and NUCLEO-IHM08M1 to drive a maxon 48V DC motor with incremental encoder (1024 counts). I have used the motor profiler and motor control workbench, the PID values automatically generated were completely wrong and the motor would loose smoothness at speeds below 700RPM or 500 RPM. After spending months I have identified the issues and adjusted the PIDs so I can now drive the motor as slow as 45 RMP and keep a good smoothness. However the requirements of the project need the motor to run as slow as 1RPM. The drive settings I am using are below. Is there anyone that has experience with BRUSHLESS MOTORS AND/OR the NUCLEO-IHM08M1? Thanks in advance

HelloI am trying to implement Position control with the latest version 5.4.4 of motor library, but the alignment function never succeeds and this loop has run forever :  while(MC_GetAlignmentStatusMotor1()!=TC_ALIGNMENT_COMPLETED){}I am using quadrature encoder with Z wire connected Nucleo F302-R8 and IHM08M1 board.What can I check to solve this problem ?The motor is making some noise.Regards

hello community, i am doing a project related to the speed control of a dc motor, to measure the speed i am using an incremental encoder, to make my code i have used the tool STM32CUBEMX and activating the combined mode for reading an encoder, this stage works without problems, but to measure speed I have had several problems, I understand the concept of speed measurement at a theoretical level, but at a practical level I made a solution that works moderately well (works well at high speeds), for this I use an extra timer which I use to count the time and through interruptions I count the ticks of this timer, the problem is that I'm still a beginner and my codes are not quite good, usually after doing something and that works fairly well, I go straight to google to find a code that someone from the community and thus feedback my own codes, but the more I search among the community, I have less hope to find a code that implements this speed measurement with an incremental

Hello,I'm new to STM32 programming but now I have already tried a lot and read quite a bit. I have a Steval Spin3202 and Spin3201 board (just tested the 3202 yet) and i want to drive two unknown Hoverboard motors with the boards.I have created a ST Motor Control Workbench projekt and selected the board.I added the motor parameter and set the Hallsensor to 60° but already tried 120° as well.Now i have the set the speed Sensing to Hall with 6 fault measurements before Error.The Voltage Jumper is set to 3.3V and I see that the Voltage drops/rises when spinning the wheel while observing with the voltmeter.When I start the motor i just see a very small "jump" and then the feedback occures.I was hoping to have a better drive experience then with Sensorless measurement (that already kind of worked with a ramp and some adjustment, but not very well when Load was applied).The motor has ha

helloi am working with the TMC5130 eval kit. its a motor control driver that is controlled by STM32f205 chip.the IDE is based on eclipse IDE, and for now all i can do is build my project (there are few build configuration files) and program it via USB cable with another tool called TMCL-IDE.My question is how can I debug this project.can someone guide me how to configure the eclipse to use ST link.i was trying with GDB HW debugger add on but without success.I asked the same request the technical support of Trinamic, but they told me to ask here.Thanks, Avi

Everything works fine, but I can not count how many circles the motor rotated. I would like to do the following: Start the motor, do 5 whole circles, then stop.I have sensorless mode, and I have to do this not by calculating the time, but by the actual mechanical statement of the motor. I have a P-Nucleo-IHM03 motor control pack, that includes a G431RB MCU, IHM16M1 driver board, and GBM2804H-100T BLDC motor. I am trying to simply create a project in the STM32CubeIDE that makes the motor turn. I went through the process of creating the project in the Motor Control SDK and then opening the project in the CubeIDE. I wrote the following code in the main function of the main.c file: MC_ProgramSpeedRampMotor1( 1000, 2000 ); MC_StartMotor1();The project builds without 0 issues and 0 warnings but when I run the program, the motor does not turn.Any help or advice is appreciated.

Given the controller 'hardware' structure I'm expecting a similar integration at firmware level like a resident rom with motor control primitives or an external library with some high-level functions. Using STM32G431, I designed a controller and inverter with different pin sequences for my needs.I used ACS781 as a current sensor. I use the software of ST only in test. I have a drone bad behavior when i request opposite large stick movement. I think i need to set a ramp to have homogenous movement . For little stick movement there is normal reaction then i stabilize it easily but when i need to inverse the command with a large stick movement example before i reach a wall, there is over reaction. I would like to set a ramp near the ramp value when hDurationms = 0

Hello,I want to use the B-G431B-ESC1 board to control a small motor with FOC.After looking at the example project from the Motor Control Workbench, I set up the current sensing. In CubeIDE, I connected the motor phases to the OPAMP inputs. The OPAMP outputs are connected to ADC inputs. The OPAMPS are set in PGA mode with a gain of 16.The motor only draws between -2A to +2A. I understand that the current needs to be polarized because the ADC needs a positive input voltage. The polarization resistor network on the B-G431B-ESC1 seems to be designed to work from -40A to +40A. That means that the 12 Bit ADC can only measure the current with a resolution of roughly 30mA. I checked my calculation with the calculator in the Motor Control Workbench. This resolution is too large to result in a good FOC when controlling the currents. What are my options to increase to ADC resolution?I can only think of changing the polarization res
