STM32 MCUs Software development tools

I started learning embedded systems recently, and have been using the Nucleo-F303RE board with the STM32CubeIDE toolchain. Recently, I compiled a program and started stepping through it in the debugger. Everything worked fine as always. I started to modify a single line of code, but decided not to make any changes as I wanted to run the debugger again first. Despite being the exact same program, it took much longer to reach the breakpoint in main from the startup ... maybe 10 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds. Single stepping through a line or a single instruction worked, but was clearly must slower than before. Stepping over a function that writes maybe 10 registers took about 10 seconds. When I let the program run freely, it was no longer reaching a breakpoint in my SysTick handler, even though it was before. How can I get the debugger to work?I tried cleaning the project and rebuilding, but that didn't work. I tried another simple program to make sure the board or ST_Link was

I'm getting the "elf has a LOAD segment with RWX permissions" warning, and a quick search here reveals a couple of ways to get around this: Disable the warning, or edit the .ld file.However, in my case, I'm using the upper half of the STM32's flash area to emulate non-volatile memory.  So I want my flash to be writeable.Can anyone suggest some magic to put in my linker file that will make the warning go away, but also allow me to write to flash?Also: I'm using STM32CubeIDE, so my linker file is auto-generated.  Is there a user-override mechanism (like there is in the source code)?Thanks.

Hi, I am seeking some guidance.With the new release STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code 3.8.0, it says it comes with new features including " Serial terminal: Enabling developers to easily setup serial communication for example leveraging the ST-LINK virtual com port."In the docs, there is not much explanation on how to get this working. Adopting the method shown in the presentation. I have selected a nucleo development board to create an STM32MX project. I have then created a STM32CubeIDE projecfrom the MX project. Having not written any code yet, I'm getting compilation errors but have no idea why? The errors are relating to files marked with a red x below:

Hello,When generating a basic Bluetooth project for NUCLEO‑WBA55CG using STM32CubeMx 6.17 (and 6.16) with Cmake as the toolchain, the project compilation fails to a missing symbol during the link stage.Here is the error message:le_ctrl.c:(.text.HCI_READ_LOCAL_VERSION_INFORMATION+0x20): undefined reference to `ll_sys_get_brief_fw_version'After investigation, it turns out the issue is caused by the incorrect order of linked static BLE libraries in the generated CMake file "cmake/stm32cubemx/CMakeLists.txt". CubeMX places the Link Layer and BLE Stack libraries in an order that prevents the linker from resolving symbols correctly. Hello,I want to develop a LoRaWAN sensor with STM32WL5MOCHxS, but I can't activate the LSE and HSE clock in CubeMX.Is there a way to make the adjustments in the .ioc?The configuration is possible in STM32WL5MOCH (expired).

There is a problem with saving assembler source files when the C/C++ > Editor > Save Action > Format source code option is enabled:As a result, the file is not saved, and when it is just created, there is no file at all. It's quite irritating, especially because this is quite an old bug and no one has resolved it yet.

I’ve been trying to download STM32CubeIDE from your website for the past 3 days without any luck. I’m located in Norway. I recently updated my old installation (version 1.4.x, not sure exactly which), and something went wrong during the update. Now the IDE is broken and won’t start, and I don’t have the original installer anymore. The problem is that the download from the website simply never starts. After I accept the license and press download, nothing happens. I’ve tried: Different browsers Clearing cookies/cache Incognito mode Using a VPN Different networks Still no success. Is there an alternative way to get the installer, or could this be some kind of regional/server issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Unable to get stm32 project option in my stm32 CubeIDE software

Hello,I am working on using NRST pin in stm32g031j6m6 as GPIO, but it fails every time. I've changed many option bytes and even options present only on stm32g0x1 have workwd on my chip, except of NRST_MODE. If i want to change this option to 2 (gpio mode) and try to apply, the progress bar stays at 0% endlessly until i quit the STM32CubeProgrammer. I didn't have any problems with communication between nucleo and stm32g031. I tried to program my chip with st links built in nucleo u031 and f303, everytime without success. What else can i try? 

Hi All,I have been struggling with the CUBEMX (6.17.0). I just want to put here the facts. I am deeply disappointed about the support, but let's suppose it's minor and will be corrected no later than next week.I wanted check and understand the LCD settings with touchGFX since the newest version(4.26) of both did not worked together either. If I tick in the separate c and h files the cubemx generates the wrong files. Also the cubemx will not generate all of the files to build the setup. There are two files between the touchgfx and cubemx in the touchgfx library. Note: The older files from the s7 development board has the comments that it will be generated but just part of it. Note2: I bought the dev board for sure and identified these errors there. It's even bigger error in the STM32H7x7 LQFP176 since the XSPI1 and XSPI2 are available at HEXA_SPI, but it's the same behaviour as above. On STM32Hxx and STM32N6 families I have faced a situation where I need to modify startup assembly code  (startup_stm32xxx.s) to copy code (.text) into ITCM or clear RAM/TCM areas, for clean data or to prevent ECC error (on STM32N6). But next time CubeMX generates code, those changes are overwritten. Same story with SystemInit function in system_stm32xxx.c. So either manual restoration or script must be done. But it's getting quite annoying after several projects. I believe the purpose of CubeMX is to ease development, so I make a feature request:Please add user code begin/end comment sections that exist in main.c also into startup_stm32xxx.s assembly and system_stm32xxx.c source files.For startup assembly I wish the user sections are:User symbols definitions.User data copy.User zero fill.For system file I wish the user sections are quite similar to main.c:User includes.User defines/constants/variables

I got the email for both the IDE and MX, and I was able to install the IDE just fine, but the link I got for MX seems broken. Is there any other way to download CubeMX? Any help is much appreciated.
