STM32 MCUs Software development tools

I've read other posts and the relevant app notes about this and tried some testing on my side but still not finding an easy or even effective way to do this.I have a CubeIDE project built on a CubeMX ioc file for STM32G0B1KEU6 and want to change to STM32G0B1KCU6 (smaller flash). Same package, same core, same pinout, just smaller flash size. Should be easy.CubeIDE 2.1.0CubeMX 6.17.0I open the CubeIDE project and then the existing ioc file within that.I click Pinout -> List Pinout Compatible MCU's and select new the MCU. I click Import.It creates a new ioc file (instead of updating the existing file within this project which is what I actually want) and attempts to import all of the existing ioc project settings. It fails to import DAC and USB settings for some reason which I now need to go and manually edit and hope that everything else is correct. Hi,After updating to the latest VS Code extension pack v3.8, what is the recommended path for executing CMake commands from command line? I uninstalled the STM32CubeCLT since it's now bundled, perhaps this the wrong choice?I want to test running commands to upgrade our CI/CD pipelines to be up-to-date.  Also found following path which contains `cube.exe` as a CLI wrapper. My concern is setting an environment variable to a path with a version number (`/...-core-1.2.0-.../`) that ends up being a moving target.> `C:\Users\USERNAME\.vscode\extensions\stmicroelectronics.stm32cube-ide-core-1.2.0-win32-x64\resources\binaries\win32\x86_64`Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello,  Began learning STM32 MCUs with my Nucleo-H753ZI board and I think I found a bug. The IO configurator on CubeIDE thinks user LED2 is on PB7 and is blue coloured. I'll paste the code it generates below. But in fact, the user manual UM2407 says user LED2 is on PE1 and is yellow coloured, which is indeed correct. Generated code from CubeIDE for Nucleo-H753ZI:#define LED2_PIN GPIO_PIN_7 #define LED2_GPIO_PORT GPIOB Appears to be a bug that should be fixed in the BSP.

It seems that after I updated MacOS to Tahoe 26.2 the IDE does not show selected text if over multiples lines correctly. This is a nightmare to work with, as it does not show selected text and can make you delete (overwrite) lines while editing.Anyone else? Is there a setting to fix it?

After updating the STM32CubeG4 Firmware Package from version 1.6.1 to 1.6.2, I discovered a bug that causes incorrect deadtime prescaler settings for HRTIM when using the LL driver and CubeMX. After a recent update I am unable to run my code from vscode on my Windows 11 machine. The compilation succeed, but when I click on Run -> Start Debugging nothing happens. The System Bundle Manager shows that I have installed all the latest versions, but the bundle manager of the projects shows only a few of those bundles (see attached). How can I install the bundles in the project section?Note that I have already tried the usual things: remove the build, .vscode and .settings folders, rebooting the pc, upgrading the stlink firmware.I tested the same code on another linux pc and there it works as expected. Hi, I'm working on an stm32U0 with Makefile generated by CubeMX v6.17.0. The code has been built with: arm-none-eabi-gcc (Arm GNU Toolchain 14.3.Rel1 (Build arm-14.174)) 14.3.1 20250623 on a GNU/Linux machine.   When I appended the -flto switch to the ASFLAGS, CFLAGS and LDFLAGS variables in the Makefile, this triggered a warning: lto-wrapper: warning: Options to '-Xassembler' do not match: -alms=/tmp/app/release/main.lst, -alms=/tmp/app/release/gpio.lst, dropping all '-Xassembler' and '-Wa' options. The .elf file was generating and it seems to be working. The code built with flag -O2. I wouldn't want this warning to lead to unexpected errors. Does anyone have experience with LTO and can tell me if it's a good idea to use it? I can't figure out if GCC bug.   Many thanks.  

Hi Team,I’m prototyping on a Nucleo-F303RE using STM32CubeIDE. In the clock configuration, I set the system clock to 36 MHz from HSI (HSI → PLL with the /2 divider), as shown in the clock tree screenshot. However, my firmware misbehaved. After debugging, I found that SystemClock_Config() function isn’t applying the HSI/2 divider when feeding the PLL. Instead of: RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLSource = RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSI;CubeIDE generates:

After upgrading STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code to version 3.8.0, the code formatting function is no longer available. Currently, while writing the code and entering ";", the formatting feature is not functioning. When saving the code, the code will not be automatically formatted; both "Format on Save" and "Format On Type" in the settings have been checked.

When I open Help -> Manage Embedded Software Packages in STM32CubeIDE 1.8.0, I'm unable to click the arrows to expand the package versions under each STM32 family. If I click the "+" icon in the top right corner, everything expands, but then I'm unable to check any of the boxes next to the packages to select them.  FYI, I do not have any of these problems in the standalone STM3

Hi all.  I have been witnessing a rapidly shrinking amount of free space on my C drive.  On a regular drive clean up of non-essential data, I can generally remove 1 Gigabyte or so of temporary files.  This however, does not account for the rapid depletion of available free space. On further investigation, I looked into the 'Other' (Manage other large folders) section of the 'System -> Storage' properties of my Windows 11 C drive.  I was a little gob-smacked to discover that - between them - the ST related folders: stm32cubeide, stm32cubemx, STM32Cube and ST contain over 100Gb of data.Obviously allowing for software packs and the various STM applications in daily use, I found a considerable amount of data was held in several .jxbrowser folders across more than one location.  For example, the .jxbrowser-7.38.2 folder inside the stm32cubemx directory - alone - is at a whopping 17.5Gb.  I don't see any way of cleaning them or whether o

I am running CubeMX in a WIndows on Arm VM on a MacMini, which is connected to a KVM. When I switch the KVM to another machine and come back, all of the windows have changed size (not unexpected). They all revert to their original sizes and positions, but the window for CubeMX does not redraw/scale it's content.For example, I see this before I switch away:And this when I switch back (note the double menu):

With the attached ioc, CubeMx 6.17.0 freezes when I click on "Generate Code" on macos 14.8.3 . Hi, I'm trying to access SD cards with an STM32C091 MCU. It seems like FatFS is not supported by default in CubeMX, therefore I looked into FileX. I don't have a need for running an RTOS, so I would like to run FileX in standalone mode. However, the FileX parameters in CubeMX don't contain FX_STANDALONE_ENABLE (see attached). IntroWhen I'm using the "STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code" extension, I often want to edit C source files outside of my workspace, which are listed in my CMakeLists.txt and get compiled into the firmware just like any other C file.  Unfortunately, with the default setup, the language server (clangd) cannot find some of the headers I include, and it doesn't know the right compilation options, so intelligent features like inlay hints (red squiqqlies) and the "Go to definition" command do not work properly.  The ST extension attempts to communicate this kind of information to the language server by putting a ".clangd" file at the root of my workspace folder which has a line in it like "CompilationDatabase: build_release".  But clangd won't consider that file when looking at source files outside of the workspace.MotivationI have multiple STM32 projects that share some common libraries, s
