Is External loader programming possible using SPI through STM32CubeIDE(It should program internal and external memory at the same time)?I am able to generate .stldr and program the external serial flash(Connected via SPI) using this file(.stldr) in STM32CubeProgrammer.Is it possible to do the same using STM32CubeIDE? As this will program internal and external memory at the same time? I have tried this after selecting the .stldr file in debug_configuration of STM32CubeIDE , but it's not working.Please confirm the same.Thanks in Advance

I'm really confused with these examples. I started a new project using the Cube IDE and all works perfectly. I was never a fan of Cube IDE ( 2015 ) but coming back to ST and using Cube IDE I have to say it is rather nice. ... Until you run any example. When I start up a new project I see the board layout. I can build, and I can debug. After I do debug the project loads and I can use break points Using examples. I do not see the board layout, I can build but I have to roll the dice to get it to upload the current state of the code. break points do not work and If I make the change I do not always see it and I have no idea what I do to make it work. I play with using the project explore vs menus and then at random times I see my latest code deployed to the board I'm using ST H7NUCLEO-H753Z1 with STM32h753z1ST-Link v3

Hello-When using Cube and doing Help->Manage Embedded Software->ST Microelectronics, the X-CUBE-SMBUS package does not appear in the list, even when doing a refresh of available packages. I downloaded the archive from https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-smbus.html but when attempting "From Local" the tool says it doesn't recognize the contents of the file. How can this package get installed then?An alternative is getting a clear example of how to use the files when I just include them by hand. There is an example for the STM32L0538-Discovery but it's an "everything all at once" design and has so much conditional compilation going on it's hard to tell what is supposed to be happening if you just want a host to do simple read/write operations.

Hello,I use an open source projet (open62541 on github) to get OPC-UA implementation over lwip.When my projet is compiled with open62541 source code, it's works without error.But the 2 files generated 'open62541.c' and 'open62541.h' are very big (around 4 and 1 Mbytes).My cross compiler is gcc form STM32CubeIDE Version 1.9    GNU Tools for STM32 (10.3-2021.10)   arm-none-eabi-gcc -v    Using built-in specs. I've been using Keil MDK for the last year. My license is going to expire, and I am going to ramp up who needs to write firmware from 1 to about 5. So, I am going to revert back to STM32CubeIDE. There were a couple of useful functional processes I used in Keil that I can't seem to replicate with CubeIDE.First)In Keil I was able to reset the processor and the debug session would start back at main().There is a "reset" button in CubeIDE but it doesn't seem to restart the debug session. It seems to stop the code wherever it is, but I can't do anything. Step over, step into, continie all don't do anything. Under the debug window (left) it shows "Thread #1 (Running: User Request)". I cannot seem to interact in anyway. Second) In Keil, when I was running a program I could press "Stop" and execution would stop exactly where it was happening and then I could take control of the debugging. I found this to be useful. Hi everyone,Using the STM32 -F767 board with freertos, and the CubeMX we are trying to change the clock speed via the clock configuration tab in order to lower the power consumption.After changing the HCLK to the desired speed (32MHz) or any other speed, generating the code, and running the application, I can see that the variable SystemCoreClock is indeed changing from the default value of 16000000 to the desired clock speed after calling SystemClock_Config function.But still, the power consumption is staying very high and is not suitable for the consumption we should get with a clock speed of 32MHz.Any ideas on how to approach this issue?Thanks!

I defined a structure in the H file and entered the Debug mode to observe it, but in single-step debugging, whether it is Expressions or live, the changes are always inconsistent, and I have not checked this structure elsewhere. Assignment, what is the problem?

Hello, I am working on a project with a dual core processor (H7) and I have some display problems in my IDE (STM32CubeIDE v1.9.0). For example, I added the LWIP part to my board with #define LWIP_IPV4 1 and #define LWIP_DHCP 1.When I am in debug mode, I can see that I pass in the code present in dhcp.c (starting with #if LWIP_IPV4 && LWIP_DHCP) but the code is totally greyed out as if LWIP_IPV4 and LWIP_DHCP were 0.This is an example, I can observe this phenomenon elsewhere in my project.Does anyone have a solution?

I think I spotted a bug in CubeMX.Target processor STM32F767ZIT6. Firmware for F7 package 1.16.2.I don't tend to use I2C (it's a terrible hack), so I was surprised when I saw that I had stm32f7xx_hal_i2c.c and stm32f7xx_hal_i2c_ex.c showing in my map file. I checked my Cube model and all I2C devices were disabled, and yet Cube was throwing the I2C support code into my Drivers/STM32F7xx_HAL_Driver/Src and Inc folders. Everything else is accounted for, but I2C??? no thanks.In stm32f7xx_hal_conf.h, I2C is enabled too. If I comment that out and delete the i2c.c files, my project still compiles.A flag from a previous time that didn't get cleared? Not likely, I stay away from I2C for my mental health. @Community member​ What works:Using STM32CubeIDE 1.6.1 and created a .ioc for the F750 I have used the library with arm_math version V1.4.5 b in my previous project with the STM32F750 without a problem, adding __FPU_PRESENT and using ARM_MATH_CM7 using hal drivers. I don't have any libraries linked. and it compiles and FFT works. Intruction set is THumb2, Floating point Abi-hard, unit = FPv5-D6. using 9-2020-q2-update GNU tools for STM32 toolchain. I am working with a STM32F429ZIT MCU based board with the LAN8742 interface and some LEDs. Can't enter into the debug mode on the development branch, but when I switch to master branch I can normally use the debugger. Difference between master and dev branch is minimal, and projects settings and debugging configuration is the same. I've tried to restart the CubeIDE, clean the project and remove all live expressions, restart the PC, but nothing seems to fix it.

Something weird is going on when I'm trying to build my project on STM32CubeIDE 1.10.1 on Windows.The process takes several minutes (instead of less than a minute).I launched Task Manager and Resource Monitor to investigate it, and what I found out is even more weird.I select the "Clean" option to rebuild everything. As I expected, I get all CPU cores used for compiling the code and this is perfectly fine. However, it finishes as expected in less than a minute then the STM32CubeIDE just freezes doing nothing.The app is totally unresponsive.Here's what I have on Task Manager:

Hi all, I am using STM32 F411 Discovery board and am facing an issue with compression, i tried different compression libraries (zlib, mzip etc) all are using File system, unfortunately the F411 Discovery does not supporting Local File system, my concern is i want to compress some sensor data of size of below 1KB to .zip format, because the client server only accept data in .zip format, so i am looking for buffer to buffer compression libraries if any available, else please suggest any other way that available to solve my problem, i am using STM32 Cube IDE for developmentThanks in advance

It seems CubeIDE expects the ioc file at the same level as the .project and .cproject are located. When trying to open an ioc which is NOT at the same level as the projects are Iocated, I get this error message: "Invalid Input: Must be project's active .ioc file."In an existing project we want to upgrade we use 2 ioc configurations. That worked fine until CubeIDE:[.project] +-- ASP +-- HAL_ST +---- HSE.ioc +---. HSIStartup +---- HSI.ioc   I made several tests, trying to add the ioc as link, other places.
