Hello,STM32CubeIDE.Is it possible to show hints (description of the function, description of the parameters of the function, description of the return value) when calling function?I made this function (see Figure 1) and made documenting comment. When I calling this function or I hover the cursor over the function name a tooltip with the function code pops up, but I want to see description of the function (@brief parameter from documenting comment, see Figure 1).Figure 1

I have an stm32 board connected to a raspberry pi.I am trying to start a remote debug session from StmCube IDE Installed on my computer and I get this error.I haven't encountered this problem before and I don't quite understand its cause because I have configured everything correctly :- in Cube IDE Debug Configuration I selected connect to remote GDB Server with correct host name and port 3333.- in the pi side I created an openocd.cfg file which includes "bindto 0.0.0.0" command in order to allow connections from any ip.

I am working with STM32N6570-DK. My code is building fine , suddenly a hard fault has started coming. I have tried updating firmware, resetting the board, unplugging and reconnecting it, But debugger is getting stopped after sometime. 

So apparently in 2026, creating a basic embedded C project now requires… a login.Tried spinning up a project in STM32CubeIDE and got a nice “half-built” result:Project created ✔Code generation :cross_mark:Explanation :cross_mark:Turns out the IDE now needs to quietly download the HAL/CMSIS packages, which in turn requires a myST account login… but:It doesn’t tell you thatIt doesn’t prompt you (on Linux at least)It just silently fails and leaves you debugging yourselfSo you end up thinking:“Did I misconfigure the clock? The linker script? The .ioc?”

Hey Team, Another day with a different problem.We have reached the point where we have to migrate to either XIP or LRUN in the life cycle of our project.We choose to do XIP and set up the External memories appropriately , For this workflow, we are using the the stm32N6DK, and  MX66UW1G45G_STM32N6570-DK.stldr for starters.We have set up the debug session as indicated in the  Getting started with STM32N6 MCUs in STM32CubeIDEAttached are theDebug logs from some of the debug sessions.The content of my linker scripts (FSBL) and (APPLI)Screen shoots of debug configurations . 

We have a custom stldr file that we generate to program external flash on our board with STM32U599VJ MCU, we use STM32 CUBE IDE with Jlink. How do I point the IDE to use my stldr file when loading code to onchip and external flash? The option to point to an external loader stldr appears on my if the debug configuration is chosen with STLink, not for Jlink.  ThanksSansh 

I upgraded to STM32CubeIDE Version: 2.1.1 and imported my existing projects as STM32. I opened Project / Properties / C/C++ Build and it says "This is not a CDT project." I've never seen that before using version 1.18.1. What happened and how can I fix it?

Hello,if you are using macOS and STM32CubeIDE and need it productively you should currently refrain updating your macOS. Due to a bug in Eclipse (https://github.com/eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.swt/issues/2621) text selection does no more work via dragging your mouse or using shift+arrows.There is already a fix but STM32CubeIDE does not provide the fix as update as of now.I already filed a case. 

In the "Debug Configurations" window (or at least that is the only place I have verified it so far), when scrolling down to access the options at the bottom, the mouse pointer might accidentally hover over a combo box. If you continue scrolling, the combo box cycles through its options down to the last value before the main window continues to scroll.This can cause (and has caused me) quite a few headaches while debugging one of my projects.I believe the correct approach would be to disable this scrolling behavior for combo boxes to prevent accidental changes.Best regards!

Hi there,I'm debugging an STM32L081 project with an ST-LINK/V2 ISOL, and the Live Expressions data during the debug session is corrupted.Sometimes, removing all expressions, stopping the debug session, and/or power-cycling the processor makes the data display correctly again. However, after a simple code update, or adding  new data on Live expressions; the data becomes corrupted once more.This has been a known issue since 2023. I’ve seen many colleagues reporting the same problem. Even ST technicians have escalated it under internal ticket IDs 222326 and 175214.Unfortunately, as of early 2026, there has been no update.I have installed the latest STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0, but the issue still persists. Come on, ST team!!!!You are aware of this issue. Please inform the community about when it will be fixed. Thanks in advance.

The STM32 toolchain based on gcc 13.3 already supports a lot of C23 features, e.g. constexpr. This is really awesome.But the current version of CubeIDE seems not to be able yet to parse these new features, so syntax checking / highlighting / code linking breaks.Is there any simple workaround for this? Or is there information available, whether the next version of CubeIDE will update this?

Hey all, just installed STM32CubeIDE on cachyOS and connected my HiLetGo STM32F103C8T6 dev board (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VKSVM21), and the IDE is giving me the following error when I try to debug or deploy:I tried installing ST-LINK-SERVER separately just to be safe, and it said that it was already installed. Hi,I am trying to debug STM32N6 program loaded in external flash. When I started the debugger in the FSBL project I can put a breakpoint just before it jumps into application inside external flash. It is obvious I wont be able to see the symbols since it is not loaded. So I loaded my application elf file under debug_configuration/Startup/Load Image and Symbols (See attached image). Split from STM32CubeIDE missing “STM32 Project” and CubeMX after fresh installation - that issue was resolved.This is a new issue.The new version 2.1.1 appears pretty useless even after trying to make a project with the separate cubemx. From the IDE you cannot then build the project. It just sits there. I would hope that the IDE is at at capable of building and compiling the project but it appears that is no longer the case.Did you employ someone from microsoft to break it. It was working perfectly before hand. New->STM Project->.....->build->debug. I will revert back to 1.19 to avoid wasting more time and just use an older CubeMX as that was the only reason I upgraded P

I am trying to download the windows version of the IDE but I can't get it to work. Either the download button doesn't do anything or it's just not there. I've tried with different email accounts, different web browsers, different networks but that didn't do it. I've looked on here and it was suggested to disable browser extensions like ad-blockers and such and I've disabled all of them and still nothing. I would appreciate any help.

I do not know what happened. If I double-click ioc file, it used to open inside CubeIDE. But now it will open inside another separated cubemx window. I may have changed some settings by mistake.How to change the settings back so I can open ioc file inside CubeIDE?

Where can I find the Option in the Preferences  to set the text of the function Name to “Bold”?
