My product has to under go the following test. TEST_Cases.xls .Our input voltage range is from 12V to 57Vdc. Dual supply (DC_1 & DC_2).During the surge test the DUT(Device under test) was failing. We are observing the power cycling issue. Please suggest us the solution.Note: With 12V input my test passed but with 48V input it fails. Posted on July 12, 2017 at 12:23I'm using STM32 PMSM FOC Software MC library to run my motor. I use the MC API to interact with my own code and it seems to work fine - motor can run.However, mentioned in the User Manual (UM1052, section 10.3, Table 18) that the periodicity to call TSK_SafetyTask() function is 0.5ms. But currently my code is calling this function at 1ms interval. May I know what is the impact of calling this at 1ms interval?

Posted on July 03, 2017 at 12:13We are using LED6001 LED Driver in a Flasher.The problem is when the input is less than 10.5V it works O.K but when the input is more than 10.5V the LED current reduces to almost 10mA or shuts down. The Problem is same with 6LEDs at the O/P and 12LEDs at the O/P. We have also tried shifting the OVP much above the O/P required volatage, but still this problem exists.Please help us to resolve the problem.  Please find the updated schematic.#boost-led-driver #led6001 #led-driver

Posted on October 25, 2016 at 13:37Hello,I'm trying to use an Arduino UNO R3 to control the IHM03A1 stepper driver.  I found an Arduino library for the IHM01A1, which looks to me like an older version of the stepper driver.  I installed the library and uploaded an example sketch, which should move the motor about using various commands.  However, when I power up the board, I get a green power LED, and a red and an amber LED lighting up, and the step LEDs are very dimly lit up. There is no motor movement.  I'm wondering whether anyone can help.  It says it's compatible with STM32 Nucleo boards, and compatible with Arduino UNO R3 connector, but none of the official software seems to be for the Arduino... I'm coming to the conclusion ST doesn't want Arduino users to be able to use the ST library for this device, and want us to buy a Nucleo board instead?  I hope there is a way to use the Nucleo library on a proper Ar

Posted on July 10, 2017 at 17:33Hi, i'm trying the powerstep board, with 1/16 step using advance current control, when the motor run there's no problem. But when the motor is stopped there's a little noise from the motor. The noise is greather when the motor is stopped in a micro-step position, and is less when the motor is stopped in a full-step position. Its this noise normal in the powerstep? #powerstep01 #motor #noise

Now I want to control my EVAL6482H board with a nucleo F072RB board but I'm not sure how to proceed.I tried to download the STSW-SPIN005 firmware library for the L6482 but the link is broken.I've gone into my dSPIN discovery kit > user_motion > dspin and found firmware for the DSPIN (L6470 and L6472) products.Where is the firmware for the L6482H?Thank you.

Posted on December 14, 2016 at 07:23Hello,I have made the reverse battery protection according to the datasheet and the UM1557 (user manual) with a diode in the GND line in parallel to a 4.7kOhm resistor.But if I do a reverse supply I detected a high current consumption.This is due to the resistors at the CS outputs that are connected to ground. In my case these are 2.2kOhm resistors. They are only of the size 0603 and they will get destoryed in case of battery reversal.But there is no advice in the datasheet or the user manual. What can I do to protect these resistors. Is it only possible by increasing the case size?

Posted on July 03, 2017 at 13:00I am documenting short-circuit behavior of the VND5T050AK.  I remember seeing a threshold around 36-44 A as the trip point to put this chip in the overload state.  However I can't find any spec in the data sheet and can't remember where I saw it.  Does anyone remember where this is documented?

I see correctly SOC and other information such as ChargeValue and Current, but the remaining time function always returns an error (-1) which is inevitable since RemTime is initially set to zero and Current is always negative when using batteries. Posted on June 26, 2017 at 14:37Hi, I'm trying to design an LED driver using L6599 and L6533 (boost then LLC) stages, I'd like to know if I can use a 300Hz PWM on the STBY pin of 6599 to drive the output in a PWM dimming control? The datasheet doesn't specify the minimum time to come out of STBY low state for the chip. Note that I don't mean to put it in sleep so that it has to soft start, I just want to use the burst mode to my advantage. I'm thinking of synchronously having a shunt MOSFET to drain the low energy current when I've disabled the 6599. Thank you#pwm #l6599

Posted on June 22, 2017 at 22:39Can I connect STPM32 to high-side of a load? If I do so then the shunt probes will be on 230V and 229.9V potentials. That is not wrong yet as I will not connect current negative input (IIN1) to mains neutral. My concern is that current positive pin and voltage negative pin are 0.5mm apart. Posted on June 21, 2017 at 10:05Hi everyone,I have purchased a STEVAL-3DP001V1, and I'm trying to make it operate. My first question concern the header J22, i.e. the prog connector. My board came without any jumper at all. But according to the board schematic and the F401 user manual, when there is no jumper on J22, BOOT0 is held high, thus the F401 enters system memory on startup. If I power the board with 12V, nothing else being attached, the current consumption goes to approx. 72mA. However I can access the webserver from my phone (not my PC, this would not work), and browse through the pages. But I can't access the files on the SD card.If I put a jumper on J22, the current consumption goes to approx. 105mA.What is the correct position for J22 for the normal operating mode ?Second question: according to the board user manual, one can provide the 5V for the logic by using the ST-Link USB plug. When we power on the microcontroller from a different source (USBasp is connected to PC which turns on atmega328P) and program it using Arduino. I have connected a motor to output pins and when I connect battery power to VHN2SP30 chip, the motor starts running. Everything seems to be working as expected.Bad Scenario:The trouble starts the other way around. I connect the battery to VHN2SP30 chip and then power on the Atmega328P chip from another 5v source, but the motor does not rotate. There is also a regulator connected to Battery input which provides regulated 5v supply to AVR chip. Even in this case, the motor does not work. I tried removing the regulator / keeping the regulator. Whatever I do, it does not make the motor rotate. The only wa

Posted on June 11, 2017 at 20:20hi!I'm making a DC-DC converter from +18~24V in to +/-13V, +5V out with at least 1A on each output. So far I have working the +/-13V@1.3A and I'm trying to synchronize them to have less noise. In the board I designed, I was just connecting the sync pins together but (after plug it) I realized they are referenced to a different levels of voltage so, no easy sync is possible here!Is there a preferred way to do this? since the master will be the one with the highest frequency... how I should correct the levels if I don't know which one will be the master? I would like to know about the accuracy of STM's sensorless estimation of electrical angle compared to the ground truth. Since the Texas Instruments (TI) Instaspin method claims less than 1 electrical degree error, I am wondering such information is available with STM as well.Thanks 

Posted on December 01, 2015 at 19:37Hello, I set up the following minimal circuit to get started with the l6384e high voltage half-bridge driver[1]: Vcc is 5V. And with the 100K resistor on DT/SD I measure 2.2V. Which is well above the Vdt=0.5V as given in table 5 of [1], hence the device should be enabled. Now following the timing diagram in figure 3 in the datasheet[1], I would expect LVG to be high. Unfortunately it is 0V. Is my expectation wrong? Did I miss something? Thank you. [1]:
