Posted on June 01, 2017 at 10:27Hello. I'm working with stpm34 and have a next problem. I can't get phase-angle measurement. It's always zero. I've got period measurement and it work well. I checked PER_ERR, but it's odd. It's placed in two positions. First, in DSP SR, and there always 1. Second, in DSP LE, and there always 0. I just can't understand how it must work, please help.#stpm34-phase-angle

Posted on May 30, 2017 at 16:32Hi all,I have a device which works with 2 pcs Li-Ion battery 18650 each 3.7V in serie and need 5V and 3.3V each 500ma.I want that the device has a 12VDC standard power connection and when the power is connected, the device can be turned off and the cells are loaded until the cells are full. Then the load have to be stoped. When the device is not connected to power then the device can be used. If the device can also be used during charging, its better.I found IC's for loading the cells, I found enought power supply IC's but I couldn's find any IC which do both together or any reference circuit how to combine them to reach this goals.Have somebody an Idea how to solve this problem?Thanks for your help,Osto

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 18:01My question ask is related to the following: If I send by my code to the stpm34 consecutively dummy commands 0xffffffff,will the read pointer for read register increment, for example if I send command 0x30ffffff and after that send two dummy commands 0xffffffff will I get the read registers with address 0x32 and 0x34?

Posted on May 29, 2017 at 10:17I need to generate two PWM signals (frequency 6.78MHz, duty cycle 50%) to drive an inverter that must be shifted by an amount programmable on-line by the user (the chip will be interfaced with a microcontroller and must be programmed on-line).The PWM shift resolution (minimum shift between the two signals) must be at least 18-20 steps between 0° (signals in phase) and 180° (signals in opposite phase).I need to find an IC suitable for this application. On the web I found the STNRGxxxA (STNRG288A, STNRG328A, STNRG388A). However I am not sure if these components meet my requirements (maximum switching frequency, maximum PWM shift resolution) or some other IC more suitable for the task exists.Thanks for your support.Best regards.Marco

I have successfully implemented the electronics on a bread board and I want to design the PCB now. I'm using the software called Fritzing for that reason. From what I can tell is the gain is 1.5583 and the offset is 1.5277V.Can someone help in verifying these values and on how to convert to amps in the software.Thanks in advanced

To clean the DC-DC in the positive side I choose a LDL212, input is +13V from DC-DC and output is +12V.In addition to his own over-current protection I'm using a resistor to measure current at his input, differentiator to current/voltage converter and comparator against a reference to know when the current is exceeded , the output is connected to the EN pin of the LDL212 and when the current is over the programmed limit it is switched off intermediately, also in the case of the short circuit against GND, no problems here.But  If the other side of the over-current or short circuit is the negative rail (10ohm resistor is enough here) the regulator is burned even if the protection is working.The datasheet says Vout should not be less than -0.3V (page 6) and seems like this is the case when the device is shorted against the ne

Posted on May 16, 2017 at 07:58Hello!I need information about values of the rms current which don't result in the open-circuiting of a transil diodes type SM6T and 1.5KE and about values of I2t  for these devices.I need this informations to determine the fuse for transil to avoid the possibility of destroy the transil in the manner of destruction it'contacts (open circuit).I want to eliminate the risk of transil diode becoming an open circuit after a pulse overload and continous current overload.I'll be very gratefull for all informations which will help me to solve this problem.

Posted on April 18, 2017 at 14:07Hi,When I am using the BEMF compensation configuration within the SPINFamily Evaluation Software, I input the Application Parameters and the Motor Parameters for my particular motor. When I press the �Evaluate� button at the bottom right of the menu, the following Device Configuration Values are calculated:KVAL_HOLDKVAL_ACCKVAL_DECKVAL_RUNST_SLPINT_SPEEDFN_SLP_ACCFN_SLP_DECThese calculated values can then be written to the device and can be seen in the Phase current control tab within the �Device Configuration� menu.

Posted on May 04, 2017 at 18:20Hi,We are working in a project using Viper26ln to generate a 3.3V (250 mA maximum current) from an AC 220 line using buck topology because we want our circuit as compact as possible, so we  avoid using transformers.We have build the circuit suggested by the eDesignSuit but the output that we get is 1.4 volts.Any suggestions to achive the 3.3V will be appreciated.Cheers

Posted on April 19, 2017 at 11:00Hello,I'm using the EVAL6472H evaluation kit to experiment with the L6472 driver. I'm having trouble with the hold current setting, when is set the hold current to 200 mA for example, only 70 to 100 mA flows through the motor. When i use a higher current setting, more current will flow through the moter. The current flowing through the motor even exceeds the limit, a setting of 500 mA results in a current flow of about 900 mA. I checked the TVAL_HOLD (address: 0x09) and it contains the correct, previously written value.I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Posted on April 25, 2017 at 10:24Anybody who can teach me how to use a powerstep01 to drive the step motor?I have the demo boards and the powerstep01 works well with the demos and the download software from st.com.Now, i want to use another MCU (low price) to drive the step motor with powerstep01, but i found the software is very hard to understand, and it is hard to adjust the program to fit the new MCU.Did anybody do the similar work before?Or can somebody tell me how to adjust the demo program, at least make the motor move.Thank you very much. 

Posted on June 01, 2016 at 13:15Hi to all, i implemented the STNS01 on a small wireless sensor. The STNS01 is charging a coin cell type LIR2440. The schematics for the battery charging part of the sensor are attached below. Usually the charging process works without problems. But a few times i had the problem that the STNS01 produced a lot of heat and the CHG status LED was flashing. Unfortunately i can't tell if the CHG status LED was flashing before the STNS01 was getting hot or if the STNS01 was heating and than the LED started flashing. When i removed the power supply and let the chip cool down a bit, i was able to do another charing process without problems. The problem that the STNS01 got hot, occured maybe 5 times out of 500 charging processes. My question is now, why is the STNS01 getting hot sometimes and charging without problems for the rest of the time? I can't find a reason for this, but i need t

I connect HALf/FULL pin 19 to GND but it work in 'NORMAL DRIVE MODE' by default.I tried to connect pin 19 to low in even state and get the 'wave drive mode' on but when restart the driver it go back to 'normal drive mode'.please i need a solution to stand on 'wave drive mode' permanently.

Posted on April 11, 2017 at 07:24I am using LD1085  voltage regulator connected to a 500mA of load. When the capacitor connected is 100uF at both i/p and o/p it is becoming too hot within  30-50 sec. Same is the condition with 10uFcapacitor at i/p and o/p and also with 22uF at i/p and 47uF.Please tell me some way to connect this voltage regulator so that it dissipates less heat.
