Posted on July 14, 2013 at 01:41 Hi, as I couldn´t get any ifn003v1 board, I bought an EVAL6230QR with an stm32f4discovery, and I´m trying to get them work together with the ST FOC library the ST MC Workbench and a MAXXON motor (EC-max 283833). I´m trying to run the demo code, the one that starts and stops the motor repeatedly. But it turns out that it resets because of a fault. by debugging I could find that the error is defined as MC_SPEED_FDBK, and I was trying to find out why.  Is the St MC workbench set wrong? I´m wiring something wrong? I will appreciate any help to set the parameters correctly. Thanks in advance,Best Regards

Posted on July 03, 2013 at 03:23Anyone know if it's possible to get the source code for easySPIN?I bought the stepper motor eval board EVAL6474PD, but in order to control it the GUI, I need the IBU interface board (STEVAL-PCC009V2), which I don't have...   I do have a several USB to SPI boards but not that one.Basically I'd like to see how the spi commands are generated based on the different user settings..  since it looks like some of the calculations are done on the chip and so only a high level command is sent.. while other, more advanced operations, must calculated offline by the host and passed to the chip as a series of low level commands. #easyspin

Posted on June 21, 2013 at 09:52I used VIPer53 in my product,I found that some of them entered into overload protection mode after running 5-10 mins at out power was 14W, and my design output power is 45W at Vin=220Vac. Change another VIPer53 the circuit can work very well.The VIPer53 with something wrong need more 3 Watts than the one without problem at the same output load. 

Posted on May 20, 2013 at 20:37Let me set you up on my situation before I ask my question. I am experimenting with an EVAL6482 with my design.  I am trying to reach 2900 steps/sec with my mechanical hardware.  I manage to get to 2200 steps/sec without a real problem.  The next jump to  2900 causes it to run then stall.  One of my thoughts was that the MOSFETS were not on long enough to reach the current.  So I tried adjusting TCC in GATECFG1 register.  I thought increasing the value would keep the gate drive on for longer.  Interestingly there seemed to be little to no effect UNLESS I brought the TCC value down to 0 or 1, 125nS or 250nS.  At those levels the 6482 tripped the OCD!  This was totally unexpected,  I figured it would just not run.  To get to TCC=2 I had to turn the TVAL_RUN and TVAL_ACC vary low.  I increased TCC all the way to the maximum and nothing noteworth

Posted on May 11, 2013 at 21:44I am working on developing a board to replace the ST GS-D200S with the L6208 for a pre-existing application. I have already designed and manufactured a small amount of boards for this purpose. I can't seem to get the proper torque out of the motor I am using (datasheet below). The system is running at 2A and 24V. I am not sure of the driving frequency. Also, when the motor is running correctly (although with low torque) it will intermittently seize up and make a grinding noise. I used the suggested component values for the charge pump. My current sense resistors are .3 OHMS/2W. I have a voltage divider of 10k and 1.15k supplying the Vref's which gives a ref voltage of approx. .515. I know this seems like very limited information but if anyone can provide any help I would greatly appreciate it. The specific motor is the HY200 2215 0220 AX04 Motor Da

Posted on May 23, 2013 at 09:05Hi,I’m planning to use the motor driver VNH3SP30 to manage a DC motor that operates at 30V. The maximum current is 12A and the control will be made with a PWM signal of about 9 kHz. According to datasheet, the operating supply voltage is 5.5-36V. But looking for information about this device on the Internet, I have read that shoot-through currents make PWM operation impractical above 16V. Is that true? Can I have problems if I try to drive a 30V motor with the VNH3SP30?And I have another question. In the datasheet I have read that a blocking capacitor between VCC and GND is necessary (500μF per 10A load current is recommended). Is this capacitor really necessary? Because I've seen quite a few schematics with this device, and this capacitor is never used. Could this capacitor improve the PWM operation?Thanks.

What software should I use with STEVAL-PCC009V1?I tried it on Win-XP, after installing drivers it was recognized as Universal Dongle Demo Board. But after starting dSPIN software from here http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF258265 and trying to connect a board, the error appeared that I should connect STEVAL-PCC009V2 board.2. Posted on April 11, 2013 at 23:08I am trying to use the evaluation board for the L6482 driver chip in StepClock mode, but I have been unable to move the motor. The status word is reported as 0xE503, indicating an UVLO condition. A second read of the status register returns the same value, indicating the condition is persistent and not power-up reset related.  CONFIG word is set to 0x2C98, and the board voltages are as follows: VS=24.28V VCC=7.52V VREG=3.37V VDD=5.03V (supplied from an external microcontroller board) VBOOT=30.24V Question #2: What TVAL register controls the motor current in StepClock mode? Is it TVAL_RUN? Question #3: How are OCD_TH settings in [mV] related to the actual current limit in mA? Is it OCD_TH [mV] = current_limit [mA] x Rsense [ohm]?

Posted on April 17, 2013 at 11:53Hello, I've prototyped a led driver built around an HVLED815PF, it's woking nicely.Now I'd like to add an integrated day/nightswitch to the lamp, with minimal components. Is it possible to put the HVLED815 in some sort of sleep-mode or standby, with minimal power consumption from th supply (while the rectified mains is still on the drain)? Or I have to disconnect the circuit formthe mains supply?The lamp is a 10W led lamp, powered from 230V mains, high power factor circuit, not dimmable, built adapting theAN4129 schematic and component values.Thanks,Fabio Eboli #hvled815 #led

Posted on April 02, 2013 at 02:13Hello.I've gone through the process of selecting part values for a few other dc/dc converters but I'm stumped with the steps to do so for the MC34063. I'm starting with 12V and converting to 5V and 3.3v so I just copied the example circuit values for the 12V->5V step-down but I have no idea where to start on the 3.3V one.The calculations table seems like it has the key information but I'm not sure how to interpret it. Some of the calculations are asking about forward voltage but don't specify if this is if using an external transistor or if its a part characteristic or what, same for ton/toff etc.

Posted on January 27, 2013 at 23:05Hello, I am trying to rotate my stepper motor 5000000 micro-steps (in 128 micro-steps mode) and its size is bigger than ABS_POS register size (it only has 22 bits in two's complement format). When the register overflows, the motor stops, instead restart the register. What is the way to rotate more micro-steps than the register size, without stopping the motor? On the other hand,  Run(DIR, SPD) command only accepts data of 20 bits size ... Thanks, #abs_pos-register

Posted on March 06, 2013 at 16:20I am trying to get the L6480 Demo board communicating with the L6480 Evaluation software using the the STEVAL-PCC009V2.  I have tried in Windows 7 and Windows XP and was able to get the driver for the PCC0009V2 loaded on both O/Ss. However, I have not had any success communicating to the L6480.  There is a comment that the PCC009V2 needs a firmware update, but I cannot find the firmware update tool IBUUI or the firmware to update the board.

Posted on February 21, 2013 at 12:35I have built up a prototype board of a 2A white LED driver using the LED2000 step down converter with a single LiIon battery as the power source. Everything seems to be working as it should, but I would like to test the circuit more thoroughly to make sure that the design is robust. Would anyone have any pointers on how to test the circuit, what parameters to measure, and what warning signs to look for that may indicate that something is not functioning optimally? Thanks, Dave

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 11:20Hi, I'm evaluating the L6470 for a project. Going over the datasheet I noticed that the minimum value for 'maximum current limiting' is 375mA. I need to drive a very small stepper (6mm) with 12V power source. According to the manufacture, the current should be limited to 100mA. Most stepper drivers have a simple sense resistor for limiting the current, unfortunately the L6470 doesn't. I can get a 5V variation of the motor that can handle a higher current (410mA) but the driver is designed for 8V (minimum) Is there a way to solve this issue, limit the current to 100mA in some way so I could use the L6470 in my project? When I'm looking the signals on CN1 connectors, the 6 pwm are 35 KHz. My goal is to see how the library drive motor with 6 pwm. For the moment, I don't have driver. This possible to see this 6 signals without driver ? If yes, do you have a correct configuration for stm3210b-eval ? Thank you,

However, I need to handle data coming from a primary card ( beagle board) by ethernet (RJ45) with udp protocol.I am stuck because I don't find how I can capture the data received from the ethernet wire.I use DMA controlleur. I kwnow that data received is store in a specific buffer (pbuf) but when i try to screen the data value on the LCD screen, nothing happen. I also use the ETH_Get_Received_Frame() to reach the Buffer1Addr in a ETH_DMADESCTypedef structure, but I can't recover incoming data.I use  #done!

Posted on January 11, 2013 at 18:38I'm attempting to get started with an IFN003V1 board.I am new to STMicro software tools and eval boards.I could not find V3.0 of the MC Library, so I installed V3.2.  I didn't find an IFN003V1 project, so I attempted to apply the IFN003V1 patch to the 3.2 MC Library.  The patch details reported 'nothing to patch'.I subsequently found the link to V3.0 of the MC Library, so I uninstalled V3.2 and installed V3.0.  When I attempted to install the IFN003V1 patch I got an error 'can't open crosscheck.h' and I found that crosscheck.h was missing.  I then ignored the error and proceeded with the patch.  The patch details reported that it could not open several other files and it appears that nothing was patched.  (The patch was run from the installation folder of the V3.0 MC Library.)What do I need to do to get set up for work on the IFN003V1?
