STM32 MCUs

Hello, I am designing a card that will use an STM32G474QET6TR and I want to program it using USART. The card will use a USB to USART converter (FTDI4232HL).  The Rx and Tx of the FTDI are connected to pin PA2 and PA3 respectively, as I found in AN2606. My first question is how can I tell my MCU that it is supposed to use bootloader mode ? and Which pattern would be better to use ? Also, regarding the pattern, how do I tell the MCU that nBoot1(bit) is supposed to be a 1 or a 0 ?

Hello, I am working on NUCLEO-F070RB board, I have developed the Custom Bootloader Code to test the Bootloader functionality I am using blinky application with HAL_Delay(1000); When I run the blinky application independently the application is working fine. Hi there,I'm designing a custom PCB using the STM32N657Z0 MCU. The design is extremely space-constrained, so I try to leave out everything I can. Since this deviates quite a bit from the reference design (well, the N6 Discovery kit, that is) I'd love to get some clarifications from someone from ST experienced with the N6 hardware side of things:1. I'm not using USB at all. What should I do with the USB power pins VDD33USB and VDDA18USB, can I just connect them to ground? Or leave unconnected? Are the tuning resistors OTG1_TXRTUNE and OTG2_TXRTUNE necessary when I don't use USB, or can I just leave these pins unconnected? I assume all other USB pins (data etc) can just be left floating.2. I do not use any external crystals or oscillators, can I just leave the OSC_OUT, OSC_IN, OSC32_OUT and OSC32_IN pins unconnected?3. I have a high resolution PC monitor (3840x2160) and have set Windows scaling to 150% to make icons and texts in most applications readable.Screenshots in TouchGFX simulator with F3 are pixel perfect and match what is rendered on target hardware, but rendering during simulating is done using Windows scaling, so it is not sharp (1 pixel is 1.5 pixels).I want square pixels. Hi,I am working on a project using STM32H757I-EVAL. I wanted to know what the model number of the microphone present in STM32H757I-EVAL. In the user manual, I could just find it as ST-MEMS digital microphones. Also, does it support external microphones? If so, how many can be used?

I am experimenting FreeRTOS to learn how to use it and CubeIde.  Simple stuff right now.  I am attempting to implement the runtime stats as described in  V10.1 FreeRTOS Reference Manual (p 86) and am having two problems.First, the TaskStatus_t {pxTaskStatusArray[ x ].ulRunTimeCounter ] reurns 0 for ulRunTimeCounter. so the runtime_percent is always zero.  I have configGENERATE_RUN_TIME_STATS  set to 1 in  FreeRTOSConfig.h. Any clarification would be appreciated

Hi everyone,I’m trying to implement LoRa point-to-point (P2P) communication using the stm32wle5ccu6.I configured the .ioc file based on the SUBGHz_Phy PingPong example for the NUCLEO-WL55JC1. Then, I wrote the code for LoRa transmission. On the receiver side, the only change I made was replacing:Radio.Send((uint8_t *)BufferTx, sizeof(BufferTx));withRadio.Rx(RX_TIMEOUT_VALUE);However, I’m still unable to successfully send or receive packets. On the transmission side, I keep getting a TX timeout.Could someone please take a look at my configuration and help identify where I might have gone wrong? Hi ,I'm working on a code to collect data from a load cell wit HX711 cip. I'm using STM32CubeIDE.I configured GPIO pin 6 as Clock output for the HX711 but when calling HAL_GPIO_WritePin the output pin PA6 does not change.The hardware configuration is set in CubeMX .I'm not even sure what information to provide.I reduced the code to only couple of lines ... 

We are currently using this chip and hope that this selection can be supplied for more than 10 years.May I ask how to retrieve such information?

It is my understanding from watching this video from ST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kx7yWVi8kbUThat many STM32 chips come with a built in bootloader in ROM that can be accessed by pulling the BOOT0 pin high. However, I just took a couple of brand new STM32 blue pills out of the package and was not able to see the USB device enumerated, and when I opened STM32 Cube Programmer and select USB, it sees nothing and says "NO DFU DEVICE FOUND" The blue pills are a super basic board and have jumpers to pull BOOT0 and BOOT1 high, so I would think this would work. ST Application Note AN3156 says that the STM32 chip on this board support the DFU built in bootloader, so I'm not sure what's going on here. Anyone have any light to shed on this?

Hi, I'm running the following example project:STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.17.0\Projects\STM32F769I-Discovery\Applications\mbedTLS\SSL_Clienton the development board STM32F769I-Discovery.Seems like the application uses the .h file STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.17.0\Middlewares\Third_Party\mbedTLS\include\mbedtls\config.hto configure the embedTLS module.The project also includes this .h file for configuration of mbedTLS:STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.17.0\Projects\STM32F769I-Discovery\Applications\mbedTLS\SSL_Client\Inc\mbedtls_config.hBut it doesn't seem like it's used, why is that? BRJonas

hi guys, I'm a desktop programmer and do not know much about micro controllers and electronics but i am very interested in making an oscilloscope  which:- simple to build with well known parts and ICs- it uses bluepill as the ADC and no other ADCs- it be able to measure negative voltages- It uses near maximum  ADC sample rate possible from bluepill  Single channel would be enough for above spects. recently I was working with a cool project named rp2daq which convert RPI Pico to a 500KSps /12Bit resolution and uses USB to send data to PC.I did try to make a proof of concept version of a oscilloscope on top of it and it did worked (kind of) available from here.I was using this simpl

Hello all,for my DIY Radio Controller (LoRa and STM32F1C8) i am using two joysticks and one poti.I am reading ADC with the DMA but what i noticed is that the ADC values are not so accurate.I know with not (professional, expensive) Potis and joysticks this accurate is almost impossible.With 12 bit resolution the ADC value is (0 - 4095) but the problem is that sometimes the tolerance gets more then 20 or 30 and this value is not ignorable for RC.P.s. the wires from Joysticks and poti are about 10cm long.My question :Is there any idea or way to get more accurate readings from ADC? some filtering or anything else.Would be using switching regulator as Vcc problematic? Please if you have some tipps or ideas it will be appreciated.Thank you in advance.

Hi We are using a custom STM32U5G7-based board to drive a BLDC motor using STSPIN230 with Hall sensor feedback. The Hall sensor inputs are handled through interrupts, and motor commutation is performed based on these events. The motor operates smoothly when the HCLK is configured to 80 MHz (HSI with PLL). However, when the HCLK is reduced to 8 MHz (HSI), the motor no longer rotates smoothly, despite the PWM timer frequency being maintained at 50 kHz in both cases. We would appreciate any insights into potential causes for this issue.

HI I m implementing a project using H753 to control a DC motor via a H bridge motor driver, which can stop motor by pull high both AN1 and AN2 pins,  i m required to brake within 200m sec, can anyone advise how accomplished this?using FreeRTOS task or Semaphore or osDelay(200) ?

I can't erase the flash in the STM32L552CCT6 with the code below. I wonder if my code is wrong. When I check the memory, the 2kB from the flash address 0x803F800 is not 0xFF. Hi! I am looking for help with my own PCB design first running process. I have PCB with STM32F407VG and LAN8742A PHY. I lost the whole day trying to run it without any effect. After powering on, the orange LED is on constantly, and nothing else. I tried it with the program, and the behavior is the same with an erased chip. I have attached schemat parts, clock configuration, and the board state photo.I tried to set multiple clock configurations, but nothing came up. Maybe I need to add some power sequence at the start of the MCU. I tried many configurations of reset line and the same effect, just nothing. I don't have any idea what I should do more.I will be grateful for any help and suggestions! Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Hi,We have a 1MEG resistive divider which we hope to provide the reference to the comparator internal to the STM32L073.Though we need to know the input bias current of the comparators inside this micro in order that we can calculate the volt drop by the bias current across the divider resistors.Please advise if you can?

I'm just getting started with my STM32WB15CC nucleo board, and my first goal was to put in shutdown mode to check the current draw, which I expected to be around 1 uA. I'm measuring the current on the JP3 header with a joulescope which should represent the actual current used by the MCU itself.I'm using the PWR_LPSLEEP example in the CubeMX IDE, and exchanged the "entersleepmode" call to the "enter shutdown mode", see below: /* Enter Sleep Mode, wake up is done once User push-button (SW1) is pressed *///HAL_PWR_EnterSLEEPMode(PWR_LOWPOWERREGULATOR_ON, PWR_SLEEPENTRY_WFI);HAL_PWREx_EnterSHUTDOWNMode(); After the shutdown call, the joulescope shows a current draw of 42 uA, which seems very high for shutdown mode.Am I missing something? Hi,I've a project that has quite a lot of peripheral configurations, plus code, based around Nucleo H755.Now I need to port this into a new project based on the same chip (STM32H755ZIT6) but targeting my own board design. I will be using the same peripherals.Is there a convenient way to migrate the project in CubeIDE without having to painstakingly re-enter all of the .ioc's configuration parameters in a clean project?Copying the code over is easy enough, it's just stuff relating to the BSP that I see as problematic.Having previously played with editing the ioc file manually I concluded that this is not a good way forward (and I'm aware that it's not recommended).Thanks

Is it necessary to enable interrupts in I2C_CR1 if I only want to look at the flags but don't want to go into the interrupt service routine? For instance, I want to be able to look at the status of RXNE and see if it is set, but I don't actually want go into an interrupt routine. Can I just leave RXIE (the bit that enables the interrupt) as 0?I am keeping RXIE as 0 for now, and I am still seeing RXNE get set when Rx data comes in. Is this normal?
