STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Hi. Is it possible to generate code with CubeMX for multiple configurations, which can be initialized on-the-fly?Example: I have only one UART available, e.g. UART1, which can be connecrted directly via RS232 voltage translator, or when USB VBUS voltage is detected, I would like to route UART1 to (external) USB/UART bridge. To spare glue logic I would like to use different pin mapping. Within CubeMX I can configure only one pinout for UART1. Is there any option to configure single periphery (UART1) to more than one pinout configuration? Thanks. Marko

Hello!It took me a while to figure out how to run a multifile search, and I have questions about it:Is there a way to link the search with ctrl-F like in any other software?What is the search icon supposed to represent? I thought it was the tip of a fountain pen, therefore unrelated to search. Is it the tip of a fountain pen? Is it something else? In any other software, the search tool is like a magnifying glass. I'm not against innovation when it evolves towards clarity and ease of use.P

Hi,My program works with gcc compiler optimization Ofast and g++ compiler optimization Og without any problem in STM32CubeIDE. I also use -fno-builtin-memcpy and -fno-builtin-memset. However, when I change g++ compiler optimization to Ofast, my code doesn't work. So, I can't be sure that -fno-builtin can work with Ofast.

UPDATEToday, as the first thing in the morning I run my USB test that didn't work the last 3 days. Out of the blue it started to... kind of work. The device (USB disk) is detected as mass storage device, so the USB host enters the HOST_CLASS state, then after trying to mount the FS i get HardFault called.My understanding of it is it must be hardware fault then, it must have been from the start. To be more specific - the micro USB plug of my OTG cable. Judging by the look of it (it looks fugly), it must be it. I ordered a better OTG adapter, one piece, without a cable, a branded one, Hama. I will perform all tests again when the hardware arrives.Several lessons learned here. First - I need more peripherals to test, one is not enough. First hardware errors like connections must be ruled out. Then - I figured out how to test the USB host properly. It's all in usb_host.c file, the USBH_UserProcess() function. I have examples but they do not use the .ioc file. I need to find a way to integrate the drivers using the ioc file.

in fact i m trying to read and write data on SD card through an adpter using FREERTOS ,spi and fatfs .I m using stm32F767ZIT6the debugger return FR_OK for f_mount when it s put with 0 option and not working for 1 option.the prblms is that even when i try to take the SD card from the adpter it returns the same thing for f_mount (FR_OK) and for the functions after it ;they are not working for exemple: f_open always return FR_NOT_READYso i dont know if it s hardware prblm or something with the drivers !!i m even doubting a clock prblm but i couldn 't fix it and really don t know why ( i m just adding that there's no prblm with the adapter because i tried it with an arduino program and it s working to say that i found the file opened and written )so i m stuck trying to find the prblm :(

In the STM32CubeMX there is a preload setting. If I enable the preload then I can see the update interrupts are working as expected. But, if the preload setting is set to disabled, then no update interrupts are seen. This is true for all timers A-F and also Master timer.NOTE: Only the update interrupt is impacted here, while other interrupts are working fine.

I noticed a problem (possible BUG) with the Clean Project when working with bigger projects in STM32CubeIDE 1.7. When I try to clean project i get error: make -j12 clean  make (e=206): The filename or extension is too long. make: [makefile:169: clean] Error 206 (ignored)I tried to build and clean the same project with STM32CubeIDE 1.6.1. Hello i have a SKR board and the MCU was faulty. I swap the chip and tried to conect via SWD on CubeProgrammer but no success after i have can connect via usb but when i as to program by my mistake i erase full chip and after cannot conect again.Is there some way to conect the chip or is broke?

I am using a stm32f105RBt6, just teasing with FreeRTOS (cmsis_v2) at the moment.Two unexpected things are happening:If i stay with Dynamic allocated memory but increase my Queue size further than 10, i get thrown into a hardfault..... maybe some nefarious Ram accesses/stepping out of the heap? im still learning about that. If i declare the Mem allocation to be static, same error.

I'm new to Cube IDE and Cube MX but I've been trying to create a simple project based on an STM32H753ZI to investigate ADC capture.Having enabled a few channels on ADC3 I looked in the clock tree to find the ADC clock speed but it's greyed out. When I hover over the ADC Clock Mux section I get a message saying "ADC Clock Source is not available" and to configure one in the Pinout Tab ADC.I can't see any options that mention anything to do with a clock in the ADC section (or , I've seen screenshots from the STM32H743 where there is a "Clock Prescaler" option under ADC_Settings, but I don't see this option in my case. I've seen that sometimes options only become visible when other options have first been set, so hopefully this is something simple that I've overlooked.Any help would be welcomed.

I'm using an STM32L4 with STM32CubeIDE, bare metal, and using C++ along with Cube's C libraries. The compiler is the GCC/G++ supplied with STM32CubeIDE.I have some dynamic memory usage in STL containers etc. I'm aware of the recommendation not to use dynamic memory on bare-metal embedded systems, but it is generally used only during initialization, minimizing the complications.I would like to know how much of the heap I'm using, and found no way to do that. I saw discussions of __heapstats but it doesn't seem to be defined in this toolchain (?).It doesn't have to be a programmatic way, if there is some internal data structure of newlib or whatever that I can watch while debugging that will suffice.p.s.I know the term "free heap space" is not very well defined, because of block sizes and fragmentation, but I suspect that in my case it's going to be one big free block.any ideas?

I have a script in my project that generates code prior to a build that works great. Hello,Looking for a free solution to make development for metering, I would like to know if the demo firmware of SL-STPM-3PHISO exists for STM32CubeIDE ?When downloading the proposed solution it seems to be available only for IAR worbench.

This is on a Windows platform. After some crashes (that wiped my code!), I removed and then re-installed STM32CubeIDE. After re-installing, builds don't work. Reason is there is no make executable in the IDEs search path. It is buried in the application directory, but no path to it. Quick and Dirty solution of copying the .exe to a place in the IDEs path didn't solve the issue, just got a different error.I did delete the /ST directory too after un-installing, but still no luck getting make to work. Potentially related, this was part of a big "get everything updated" push that included updating to latest Atollic tools (9.3.0), STM32CubeMX (5.2.1) and latest Java too. Not very interesting, but here is the error message:08:31:17 **** Clean-only build of configuration Debug for project CAN_Input **** make clean Cannot run program "make": Launching failed   Error: Program "make" not found in PATH PATH=[C:/ST/STM32CubeIDE_1.0.

Hello ST Community,I am currently working with the STM32F723ICT6. This has according to the datasheet (added as image) a flash capacity of 256 KBytes.While flashing with the STM32CubeProgrammer, which confirms the 256 KBytes flash capacity, I generated a file with an exact size of 512 KBytes with random content and tried to flash it to the start address 0x0800 0000. My expectation was that this might not work, but the flashing was successful anyway.As proof I read 512 KBytes from the same start address via CubeProgrammer using the STLink and compared the checksum of the generated file and it was identical. Consequently the 512 KBytes were flashed completely. Do I have a mistake or is the flash capacity of the STM32F723IC identical to the STM32F723IEXX? Consequently it would be wrong documented.

Under the HAL template the SPI2/DMA in received only which worked fine. I have MISO and MOSI loop back for test purpose and need to send 3 or 4 byte per session.Because the client code is LL template so I can't use HAL solution. Below is the LL snips for which I use UART command to run the init. The DMA interrupt is not invoked after transmitting 3 or 4 byte data. After checking out the SRC in DMA1 and SPI2 register list including NVIC I found no difference from the working HAL template code. I don't see DMA interrupt flag set. I'm running out of ideas about what to do next and why DMA interrupt is not invoked by SPI2 received operation, have I missed something?NB: The BOOT1 is grounded by eval board (via 10K). I also have UART/Systick up and running which means the interrupt system is working fine. I wish to note this is demo FW as testbed which is MIXED HAL and LL template. //========================================================================

I'm using STM32H747I-DISCO board to test. I connected OTG adapter and USB disk to CN1 (OTG HS) port.In my STM32CubeIDE I have USB_OTG_FS enabled and configured.The software initialized the driver (successfully), then I try to mount my USB disk and I get FR_DISK_ERR.I checked in the documentation, that the LD7 should indicate the VBUS voltage presence. The LED is off, so I guess I don't have VBUS voltage.Why is that?Is this related to the USB_HOST settings?

I have used the CubeMX version with 5.6.1 and 6.6.1, and this problem always happened. What's more, I used this software in my Windows10.
