STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Hi, I wonder if someone can explain how I can be more competent in using the CubeMX graphical tool for various peripheral configurations. Take for example, I am familiar with UART port hence the Cube MX GUI config tool for the UART is easier for me to understand and use. However for I2S for example which I am not familiar with ...how do I use the Cube MX GUI to do its configuration? Trial an error? Or is there any user guide that I can refer to?NOTE: Tools are made for making life easier not the other way round and ideally (thru the graphical tool) adapting into using new peripherals (of the MCU) take less effort Please help clarify - many thanks

Hi, I am using the STM32CubeIDE version 1.9.0 Code Generator feature (via the CubeMX graphical interface) and wanted to generate the 96 MHz sample clock for the I2S codec. Unfortunately, I found that the code generated under sub "void SystemClock_Config(void)" missing the I2S clock setting which supposed to look something like below://all these are not generated by the CubeMX code generator RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef PeriphClkInitStruct = {0};   ... I created and developed a project for more than 4 years, and changes in the project have always forced us to migrate to newer versions of CubeMX and also newer software packages. The project is for an STM32F407VGT6 microcontroller. The last stable version was with CubeMX 6.2.1 and software package 1.26.2. Now when I try to migrate to CubeMX 6.5.0 software pack 1.27.0, after clicking generate, CubeMX deletes the main.c file from the project. Restoring the backup main.c file is not a good idea, since the changes are not made in the older file. The main.c file is generated when the project is made from scratch, but with migrated project, it is deleted.

When I configure a SWV data trace comparator with a variable name, it's working properly. If, instead of the variable name, I use its address (extracted from the map file, so I know it's correct), it doesn't work, I mean no data is printed out in the SWV Data Trace window and SWV Trace Log doesn't show any activity related to this.For this simple example, it would be fine to use the variable name but, for other situations, using the address is required as the IDE is not able to resolve the variable address.I'm currently using v1.9.0, I don't know if previous versions are showing the same issue.Any clue about that?

I have an STLINK-V3SET connected to a Seeed Lora-E5. I also have a Nucleo L476 developement board with on-board STLINK. On the Seeed board I am able to connect STM32CubeProgrammer and have loaded a file. I cannot connect however STM32CubeIDE as I get an immediate failure to connect due to GDB server ....On the Nucleo I have successfully connected the STM Utility and downloaded a file but once again I cannot connect STM32CubeIDE. I downloaded all three of these apps today so they are the latest....CubeIDE is 1.10.0. The IDE was working just fine as I have flashed Nucleol476 and NucleoWB boards but somehow I have corrupted it's ability to use the GDB server. I deleted the debug and .launch but to no avail....Please help here as I no longer have the ability to use the IDE ????? Dear all,I am using Cube MX to generate a template code for my new project. In Advanced Settings page under project manager tab, Init sub-routines order is not correct and I also cannot fix it. DMA is used in ADC1 and it should initialize before than ADC1_Init. However Cube MX puts ADC1_Init function before than DMA_Init. MX_ADC1_Init order also cannot be changed because order change buttons are not active. There is a problem with RCC section as well. I reported previously and ST said it is known issue and will be fixed. (https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00001Xuay2SAB/adc-clock-setting-in-st-cube-mx-for-stm32h742vgt). However I may find another problem. I genereted a template code using Cube MX and I realized some peripherals clock and PLLs are not set in PeriphCommonClock_Config subroutine. Hello,I plan to modify the USB Audio Class for a project created in STM32CubeIDE and using the USB Middleware library. I select the peripherals I need in the Device Configuration Tool, plus the USB_DEVICe Audio class. then I generate the code.In all of the code, I can make changes as long as I put my code in the proper places guarded by /* USER CODE BEGIN */ / *USER CODE END */ .There is no such mechanism for the USB classes. So if I modify or add a function, then later on I might need to re-generate the code using the Device Configuration Tool due to a project change (say, adding a GPIO pin), but doing so will overwrite all the USB files.My workaround is to find and copy all the USB files I modified, copy them to a safe place, generate the code, then copy back my files. I just downloaded both STM32CubeMX (windows) and en.stm32cubef4_v1-27-0.zip.When I try to install the F4 package, it ask me for confirmation of license, checks license,churns mightly for a long while, and finally says "Problem during Unzip".I confirmed I can unzip the file AOK and downloaded a 2nd time just to be sure.I tried letting CubeMX download and install the file, with same result.What's going on???Thanks,Best Regards, Dave

I am trying to do UDP on Discovery STM32H735G-DK.1)     MX Pinout configuration tool seems not compatible with the examples: if I open the example LwIP_UDP_Echo_Server in the configurator, LwIP remains disabled in the MX pin configurator.Q1: Is there any way to create/update the .IOC from the example so it can be used as a base to start working from using the MX tool?  2)     If I generate with MX a basic configuration, even disabling all hardware peripherals, the tool keeps nagging “partly disable conflict with�? even with peripheral ADC I disabled.Q2: How should I understand conflicts between 2 hardware parts where 1 is disabled? I have a touchgfx project, and I need to send bytes from a hex file over uart to a different micro. Everything in this works, but I am using dummy data that I hardcoded into the program. I want to be able to add a .hex file to my project, have my program open it, read it, and then put it into a byte array for me to eventually send over. I was going to use the process outlined in this link: HEX File to Array in C : 10 Steps - Instructables, however, I am not certain on the correct way to add the hex to the project and then properly read it especially in the STM32CubIDE environment.
