STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Hi guys,I m currently trying to debug my custom prototype stm32G474CEUx based project using stm32cubeide 1.18.1 version. But Once I set the breakpoint at particular line and then I try to step into it in debug mode,  then It would not go to that function inside, instead it goes somewehere. It seems bit strange. Previously it dd not happen. Actually i restarted the cubeIDE  but it did not work out.In fact previously my project was giving the correct result but after this issue, i am not getting the correct result on serial terminal.Can anyone please guide or help me for this.?  Many thanks in advance.!

I would like to use SWV for debugging on the Nucleo-N657X0-Q board.I first enabled SWV debugging and also change the CPU clock to 400 MHz.  

Using cube IDE to debug my application i've witnessed breakpoints behaving unpredictably: sometimes they appear on their own in breakpoint list view while not present in the file editing view; other times the breakpoints i've just placed and just used dissapear.What can be a cause of such behaviour and how can i prevent it from happening?

I have imported several example projects into CubeIDE which don't show the header files. The header files do actually exist in the windows file explorer, and the project does properly build and run. So why don't these show up on the CubeIDE (Eclipse) project view? Is there some Eclipse setting that I am missing?

Hello,I'm new to STM32Cube-IDE (and Eclipse). Normally I use the ARM-gcc toolchain and do assembly coding.I managed to create a New STM Project by using the Example Selector tab in the Target Selection window.In this case it was the BSP Example for the B-U585I-IOT02A Discovery Kit (with the STM32U585 chip). After modifying the code in accordance with how-to-use-semihosting-with-stm32cubeide  the code runs OK. Now I would like to COPY the Project and edit that. From the multiple "how to clone a project" threads it appears that this is not trivial. (?) One of the threads I read was from 2022 and IDE version 1.8. It seemed that multiple otherwise experienced developers found it odd that this wasn't a straightforward task. Manually copying and search/replace

... ideally automatically as part of a normal Debug or Release build.

I am using CubeIDE version 1.11.0 for a STM32F411RC project. After i've changed boards (between two equal custom boards), my live expressions started showing wrong values. The values are only wrong in the live expression, because if I halt the program and read them, they are correct. I've tried removing the variables from the live expression and inserting them back again, but it didn't work. I also tried turning my variables volatile. I also removed all optimizations, but to no avail. I erased and remade my debug configurations from scratch, but it didn't change anything. The only thing that worked was turning on the Serial Wire Viewer (SWV) in the debug configurations. It worked once, but when I stopped the debugger, did some changes, and started it again, it was all wrong all over again. It never got right again after that. Is there some kind of configuration I am missing? The only thing I didn't try yet w

I bought an analysis program from a company and they gave me a plugin .jar file to install the analysis program in IDEs. When I put this plugin .jar file in a folder called dropins in the Code Composer Studio IDE folder, it works directly. But in STM32CubeIDE version 1.16 there is no dropins folder, even if I create it myself it doesn't work. When I tried to install the plugin as jar with the “local” option from the “install new software” screen, it didn't work. I don't have the Update site folder, only the .jar file. How can I install it in STM IDE as it is installed in CCS IDE?

Hello all, i have reported it several times but ST has successfully ignored it. So i am posting it here. In CubeIDE is folding not working if file is long (around 3k lines). This is a major problem because a lot of LL "drivers" (BTW, it is RAL-Register Abstraction Layer) are quite long. Most of the lines are comments, and if you are unable to fold them, the files are hard to use, harder to read and it makes confusion and anger. If you are writing some module, which has to be longer, it will be also hard to use and read, and user could insert a duplicity which lead to bugs.  Please fix it finally.

I am using STM32CubeIDE version 1.18.1, and when using float formatting, STM32CubeIDE shows me an error with red squiggles about float formatting not being enabled in my toolchain.When I go to Project Properties > C/C++ Build > Settings , I see no 'Tool settings' menu, and no linker option to specify. I am using CMake, so I believe this is normal since STM32CubeIDE does not know about my build configuration. How can I make this error disappear while using cmake ?

Hello,STM32F411CE microcontroller.I created a starter project via STM32CubeMX using HAL and opened it in STM32CubeIDE. When I run this project in debug mode, the SFRs tab is empty (see figure bellow). Why?When I create a project without using STM32CubeMX and, accordingly, without using HAL, the SFRs tab shows the registers and value of registers.

Edited to clarify that this is specifically STM32F4 (originally just said "Fx").I've a library .a file compiled using STM32CubeIDE for STM32F4 series.Is the .a file be compatible to Custom ARM Cortex M4 to use in IAR Embedded Work bench?

Hello,I have been trying to open two files simultaneously in sdcard (one in READ mode and another one in Write mode) using the STMCUBE IDE fatfs library. Hello ST community, I have cloned a project developed by a colleague of mine using STM32WBA52 MCU.When I hit build for the project I got this error "Note: This behavior is deprecated and will be removed in future version of the linker"I updated STM32CubeIDE to 1.16, but I still get the same error, whereas, the project was initially developed using older version of CubeIDE Did anyone get into this issue?Any assistance would be appreciatedThanks

I don't know we are going where with this software. after update i was tried some pin name changes and pressed generate code.. and my USB CDC IF file gone.. with my codes.. how do i trust this software.. where do we go.. and now no where to config usb cdc and nothing work instead no usb descriptor error. how to recover? can i go back to old version? why is this software like this?

There is a typo error in debug mode window. While debugging, in the bottom right corner, the phrase "Description: Cortex-M4 core descriptions, generated from ARM develloper studio" contains a typo where "developer" is mistakenly written as "develloper". The screenshot is given below. 

Hello everyone,  I'm figuring out the redirection of `printf()` function to ITM Data Console on example of Nucleo-G474RE.  I managed to set-up the forward of `printf()` to ITM Data Console when it is used in debug-mode, but I can't use it when it is build with regular Run command. The start trace button stays grey and unavailable. However, I can connect to SWV with STM32CubeProgrammer. Which setting am I missing? The example code is simple and based on STM32 project without BSP. I am working on a boot loader and have a workspace that contains two projects - one for the boot loader and another for the application that it loads.As these two programs are tightly coupled, I have a single .ld linker file in the application project. The application and boot loader projects both use this linker file - the application project uses the default settings that were provided when it was created, with the boot loader being manually configured to use the .ld file from the application project.The default .ld file that was created for the boot loader project has been deleted because it is not needed.Everything builds and runs correctly, until I modify the .ioc for the boot loader. When the code is regenerated, a new .ld file is created for the boot loader project and the project settings are modified to point at it. At the same time, the content of the .ld for the application project is overwritten with what looks to be a new, default .ld file.Un

I have been able to load the demo source code for the STM32F469I_Discovery from GitHub and get it to run as expected under TouchGFX. However, when I try to build it in STM32CubeIDE, the folder for the BSP is not included and the corresponding obj files not generated.The attached file shows the top structure of the project. The Drivers\STM32F4xx_HAL_driver is being compiled, but none of the Drivers\BSP files are. The corresponding .h files are being found.What am I missing?Thanks, Dave 

Hi,I have created a project with Percepio's Tracealyzer integrated into a STM32G431 Nucleo project. I use this board a lot for my smaller projects, it is cheap, small, fast 170MHz, has an excellent pinout and the G432 processor really kicks bottom. The project is for a humane electrically activated animal trap. I used the project with a Time OF Flight Sensor, a VL53L4CD which has a 1 MHz I2C slave interface. To get it going I used the VL53L4CD_ULD driver software provided by STM. Im attempting to program an stm32H523CET6 MCU, i bought an ST-Link for it, and begun trying a basic blink sketch, debug said no errors and proceeded to load it onto the MCU. However, it displays the following: Target no device found Error in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target.i looked online and people seem to use STM32 ST-Link Utility app to erase or atleast connect to the chip but i cant even do that, it will ask to change to connect upon reset but it doesnt work.Steps taken:1.checked physical connections via datasheet and multimeter, it is correct.2. Checked if everything shares the same GND. It does.3. Checked for faulty ST-Link, it is abled to have its firmware upgraded and can connect(only the link), also shows up in device manager as "STM32 ST-
