STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

In an effort to track down an unrelated problem, I switched back to using my H7 DISCO board and the HSEM_CoreSync sample application. If I debug only the CM7 code, or only the CM4 code, I can step through any/all lines. However, if I try to multi-core debug, single stepping on the CM7 says it is performing a step:(before hitting F5)(after hitting F5)

Whenever I try to use the SFR view window, it consistently crashes the IDE. Completely hangs up, not responding to anything (e.g. resizing the window) anymore.. left it sit for 15min (way too long) no responsiveness.I can easily reproduce this by launching a debug session, and then e.g. trying to unfold "NVIC" item in the SFR listings. => IDE hangsAlso starting to type so I can narrow down the amount of entries in the panel => IDE hangsTyping "NVIC" somewhere else first, then copy-pasting it into the field (so it doesn't first go searching for everything with "N" in the name, and then having to read a few hundred registers) => IDE hangsI'm using STM32CubeIDE 1.13.0, installed last week. The target is a STM32U575 on a nucleo. None of my user code is running yet, because its still halted at the entry of main. I've not touched any of the debugger settings w.r.t. to the onboard STLink.OS is Manjaro Linux with all up to date packages.Ple

I have been trying for hours to upload code to the STM32-N6 and I am simply out of ideas. I only managed to upload debug code to RAM once, then I tried erasing the flash on the PCB using STM32CubeProgrammer (which worked, the standard code is not on there anymore) but now I cannot even use the debug option. Hi everyone,I'm relatively new to STM32 and I'm running into a confusing issue with the debugger in STM32CubeIDE.I have a simple while loop where I read an ADC value (potentiometer) and use that value as the delay time for a blinking LED.The code is definitely working physically. When I turn the potentiometer, the LED blinks faster or slower accordingly. This confirms `HAL_ADC_GetValue` is returning a changing value.When I run the code in Debug mode and look at my variable (adcDeger) in the live expressions tab, it is stuck at 0. As my project has morphed I have started from a STM32F103, moved up to a G431, then a F446.With a few #defines and tweaks I have a shared main app code base with identical project structures for each of the processor types (that makes it easy to switch between MCU boards as when whilst doing code tests).All theseSTM32CubeIDE projects have Runtime library = Reduced C, and "do not use default libraries" is ticked. All build fine.All used CubeMX to generate the appropriate sources etc.., all have 99.9% identical CubeIDE project structures.As a stepping stone to a STM32F723 I am bodging up a port to an STM32H723, but so far have been unsuccessful in getting it to link. I am looking to use Ceedling for a unit test framework and want to use STM32CubeIDE's Unit Test support for running it in the IDE. I have successfully set up Ceedling and am able to run from command line, but it would be nice to at least understand how to run in the IDE. I have read over a couple different tutorials for setting up unit testing in the IDE, but haven't found guidance on addressing the issue(s) I have; perhaps I am not approaching the problem correctly.  I use Ceedling to set up the initial unit test folders and project.yml file in my project folder structure.  From searching around the internet, it would seem that I need to set up a Run Configuration specifically for running tests.  I got the Eclipse C/C++ Unit Testing Support plugin, created a Unit Test Run Configuration for my project and added details for Ceedling. I am using Google Test runner for the output, and have the project.yml file set up to output gtest like reports. 

Hi,I'm a teacher, not a NASA technician, and for years I've been using STM32CubeMX with Nucleo series boards to teach my classes of 16-17 year-olds the basics of microcontroller programming. After a few years, I'd prepared numerous examples of increasing difficulty, with the MX section being a key component. Along with the exercises, I'd prepared the lessons on slides. If the IDE version changed, I'd have to make a few small adjustments. Now, in the labs, some technicians or colleagues have decided to install version 2.0. The difficulties in integrating the MX environment have increased exponentially. I have two solutions: either ask the technicians to ALSO install version 1.19 (an issue that involves extra work, money, time, and arguments with colleagues), or I'll spend a few weeks adapting the exercises (the first three took me two days) and rewriting the lessons. Hello ST Community!I am currently considering an STM32N6 for a new project and decided to use CoreMark as one of the benchmarks to compare candidates. According to its datasheet and published results on https://www.eembc.org/viewer/?benchmark_seq=13733, the STM32N657 should reach a score of ~3616. I noticed that the published results on the EEMBC website report usage of “ArmClang v15.0 - Keil v6.18” as the compiler. I figured it would be worthwhile checking what score I’d get from STM32CubeIDE’s GCC toolchain.I ran the test on a NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board and obtained a CoreMark score of 2389, which is quite a bit lower than I expected when comparing against the published results.The test application is designed as follows:CoreMark source code from h

In STM32CubeCLT (including latest 1.20.0 version), there is CMake but no make.To build projects from CubeMx gererated make projects, I have to install STM32CubeIDE and add below into PATH.  C:\ST\STM32CubeIDE_2.0.0\STM32CubeIDE\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.make.win32_2.2.0.202409170845\tools\bin Manually install standard GnuWin32 Make is not enough because it miss some additional tools such as rm.exe, mkdir.exe ... 

I just downloaded the Cube IDE (v2.0) and none of the tutorials will play in it, none of the tutorials online match this IDE and I do not have the MX tool because ST said it was included in the Cube IDE. I'm ready to delete all of this mess or can anyone point me to current (as of today, 2/2026) methods to start from scratch.  BTW, yes, I have seen how to import 'older' projects, I've read several other posts, but if ST is serious then the tools ought to work properly or I'd have to consider them (ST and their tools) to uncared-for; i.e. is ST disinterested in selling us some MCUs even if we can't get started with THEIR tools. Either the tools should work and the site's info should be correct or we will have no choice but to look elsewhere. There are plenty of MCUs around these days.

I have been trying to download STM32CubeIDE for Windows, but the download never starts. Someone can help me with this issue?

 

I'm migrating from Windows to Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) as my main OS, and I'm setting up the STM32CubeIDE for development.  I noticed that the Linux install of STM32CubeIDE (v2.0.0 downloaded from this site) is missing almost all of the ST specific features that make using the IDE worth it for me.  Is there a reason for this?  Is there a way to install these after the fact?The ST specific features I'm speaking of are the integration of STM32CubeMX and ability to generate all the initialization code for the various peripherals that I'm looking to use.   Specifically: I'm looking for the Linux install to have an option of File > New > STM32 Project, which then gives me the option to select a board (Nucleo, etc.) or a bare MCU (STM32U575xxx, etc). It then generates a .ioc file and eventually generates the code.  

I bought the STM32H7 dual-core EVAL board STM32H757I-EVAL and started with TouchGFX. I created some first buttons in TouchGFX Designer and flashed them to the board — that part works fine and runs without issues.Now I want to continue programming in STM32CubeIDE, but I cannot start the CM7 debug session. CubeIDE shows:“Launching STM32H747I-EVAL_CM7 Debug has encountered a problem”“Failed to execute MI command: load …\STM32H747I-EVAL_CM7.elf”“Error message from debugger back end: Load failed”The M4 upload/flash finishes without any error message, but it looks like the M4 application does not run. Hi,I have NUCLEO-U083RC-B01. I attached X-NUCLEO-IKS5A1 to it. All jumpers are in default positions.In STM32CubeMX I enabled I2C1 with default values. In the main program I am trying to check the device readiness for MEMS sensors on the X-NUCLEO-IKS5A1, e.g, ISM330IS. HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReady returns HAL_ERROR.I tried to set the I2C1 GPIO configuration Pull-up but no success. Hi, so the recent change to make CubeMX a separate app has broken my old project. I am using a Nucleo board and HAL in the project. After a change to the .IOC file I get "stm32h7xx_nucleo_conf.h:50: warning: "USE_NUCLEO_144" redefined". Is there a resource somewhere explaining to to do all of the after the CubeMX split?
