Heyho,I had some really strange error, which went away when turning optimization from "fast" to "off".The function EthPhyInit() always returned 166 = 0xA6 - it should return "HAL_StatusTypeDef", something between 0 .. 3.So I changed all the return values to some integer between 1..8 to find out where things go wrong, then added the last line:uart_printf("EthPhyInit() good ->return 0\n\r");before returning 0 when all went well.Still, always got 166 back, even when I got "EthPhyInit() good ->return 0\n\r" on the terminal.Until I turned optimization OFF, now all is good.WTF is happening there? Hello, Using controller: STM32F767BIT6 External SRAM: SRAM-1x16M-48TSOPI Interface SRAM via FMC is successful, currently using heap_4 and tried to work with moving variables & complete heap to external SRAM and it works. But I want to use external RAM as extended RAM if internal RAM get exhaust. I have seen some examples in Keil which allow to do the same by using .ANY .ANY (+RW +ZI)  So, this will allow to use runtime RAM if it is free, so just for thoughts, if I define .ANY in internal and external RAM then in runtime it will decide where to go based the available size. But in STM32CubeIde, not sure how it can be done. So, I need help or examples to understand how we can actually use external SRAM as extended RAM. Thanks, Nitin

New user, fresh download of STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0.Created the demo "hello world" c++ project. Then attempted to compile it. I have a project that builds with no errors but when I "Run as..." the project builds but  never enters the upload sequence so doesn't upload.The board in question is a Nucleo F411RE & is communicating fine over UART. A previously loaded project is still sending out its debug messages, so I know the USB is good.Debug is not playing either...

The IDE opens successfully, but essential features such as MCU/Board selection, CubeMX integration, and embedded software package management are not available, which prevents me from creating a standard STM32 project. I have already tried reinstalling the IDE, but the problem persists. I would appreciate guidance from the community on the correct installation procedure or any additional steps required to enable full STM32CubeIDE and CubeMX support on Windows.

I am trying to use the gprof editor/viewer within cubeide but it doesn't work, everything just freezes then crashes with no error messages, i also found nothing in the logsI'm trying to use gprof profiling arm-none-eabi-gprof.exe, i have my code instrumented and got a valid gmon.out file, it is small ~15kb, the file is valid as i can process is manually with gprof.exe and get a textual representation of the profiling data.However i don't want text output, i want the included viewer in the cubeide, to see in a nice tree view the data, i have the option to open the gmon.out file with the gprof editor but when i do, it asks for the corresponding elf file then after that everything freezes then crash. What am i doing wrong? I'm trying to configure DMA in Memory-to-Peripheral mode for the STM32WB09KE, specifically to transfer data from memory to a Timer channel (TIM2_CH3 for Addressable LED's). However, in STM32CubeMX, I cannot see the expected DMA options under the DMA Settings tab for my Timer. 

With CubeIDE 1.x iterative development is simple1 Start CubeIDE and create new project. It is possible to select C++ project option at project start (without any effect)2 With Device Configuration Tool create initial perifery config. It is possible to open second windows for it and have two separate windows side by side. Generate code.3 Switch to first window and work with generated code4 If need new device, switcn to second window, add new device, config it and generate code.5 In first window regenerated code is created in sync with Configuration Tool. Convenient and logical steps. Great work!How iterative development can be done with CubeIDE 2.0?

Can multiple versions of a software be installed on one computer or system? The latest version I recently downloaded doesn't include MX. Should I install version 1.19.0, or use the uninstallation method for version 2.0.0?

From cube 1.3.0 I always get this error and the cause seems to be the path generation in .d files. In cube 1.12.1 the path is relative but from cube 1.3.0 it is absolute and generates something like \\?\C:\.... So the only solution for me is to stay with cube 1.12.0. The build however seems ok an the bin file is generated. Did anyone had a similar issue? I just installed CubeIDE 2.0.0 on Ubuntu 24.04 (finally!).  However I cannot launch it (I do get the initial workspace selection popup, but after selecting "Launch" I get this error):$ /opt/st/stm32cubeide_2.0.0/stm32cubeide_wayland Could not create GBM EGL display: EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED. Aborting...A little bit of poking around on Google suggests that installing libnvidia-egl-wayland1 should fix this issue, however on my system libnvidia-egl-wayland1 is already installed:$ dpkg -l | grep libnvidia-egl-wayland1ii libnvidia-egl-wayland1:amd64 1:1.1.13-1ubuntu0.1 amd64 Wayland EGL External Platform library -- shared libraryii libnvidia-egl-wayland1:i386 1:1.1.13-1ubuntu0.1 i386 Wayland EGL External Platform library -- shared library I have tried rebooting a couple of times but I keep getting the same error.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

SOMETIMES (not always), when i try to debug (and only when i try to debug, run does its job well) with STM32CubeIDE my Riverdi board, i encounter the "Could not verify ST device! Please verify that the last version of the GDB-server is used for the connection" error. It happens right afterLoading RTOS driver... ThreadXConnecting to GDB server 127.0.0.1 on port 61234 ... ConnectedListen for GDB connection on port: 60000 ... Connected.if this helps.Downloading code with run is always fine, and sometimes the debug option works, but not always. It is really annoying to rely on luck to make the *** thing work. I tried unplug-replug. The board is definitly not counterfeited, same goes for the ST-Link.

I am asking this question because I am a relatively new engineer working with STM32 and Cube IDE. When choosing the MCU to create a new project for my new board containing the STM32F401CCU6, I see that it is not listed and only STM32F401CEU6 appears. Can I create the project based on this model number and will everything work the same? I wanted to try it myself, but today has been a tough day, so I would appreciate your help with an answer tomorrow when I get to the office to save time.Thank you in advance.
