Where to start...I have mave made a bootloader (done this before), which is placed in the low end of the flash memory. The application is in the subsequent flash.My board has a USB port and a DIP switch for forcing the BOOT input pin high. When I flip the DIP switch on, and power the board, I can connect STM32CubeProgrammer to the internal DFU bootloader via the USB port. I can also upload my application through the USB port. Hi,This is for STM32U5 and STM32H7 series MCUs.I was starting to use ThreadX because it looked like it was preferred over FreeRTOS. Now it looks like it is going the other way FreeRTOS is preferred over ThreadX ... or so I read/watched.I liked ThreadX with FileX because they seemed better integrated than FreeRTOS and say FATfs. But I don't have a lot of experience with RTOS in general. I've used a bit of FreeRTOS before but it looked like ThreadX was a better option for STM32U5 series MCU (in cubeMX).The video I watched and info on going back to FreeRTOS  with separate FileX (from STM) said that it was going to happen by the end of 2025. I prefer to stay with one RTOS, whichever is going to make my life easier but I also need a file system.We're at the end of 2025 so I wonder if this switch from ThreadX to FreeRTOS with separate FileX has already been implemented in the new STM32cubeIDE v 2.0? Hi,I haven’t used SWO functionality before, but I now need it to stream real-time data.I’m using VS Code with the STM32CubeIDE extension, but I haven’t found any options to configure and display real-time data (via SWO) in a VS Code window. How can this be done?If this isn’t possible in VS Code, what alternatives would you recommend? Ideally, I’d like to output both text messages and real-time numeric data, with the data automatically plotted on a chart. What is the best way to achieve this?Thank you

This does not happen in CubeIDE 1.15.1 and the solution suggested in this post does not work either.How can I fix this issue?Thanks in advance,Gaston

While installing the program for my windows 10  it hangs at step 8 which is shortcuts set ups. So I have been reaserching the internet and forums for a while still didn't manage to find a solution

I am looking to use Ceedling for a unit test framework and want to use STM32CubeIDE's Unit Test support for running it in the IDE. I have successfully set up Ceedling and am able to run from command line, but it would be nice to at least understand how to run in the IDE. I have read over a couple different tutorials for setting up unit testing in the IDE, but haven't found guidance on addressing the issue(s) I have; perhaps I am not approaching the problem correctly.  I use Ceedling to set up the initial unit test folders and project.yml file in my project folder structure.  From searching around the internet, it would seem that I need to set up a Run Configuration specifically for running tests.  I got the Eclipse C/C++ Unit Testing Support plugin, created a Unit Test Run Configuration for my project and added details for Ceedling. I am using Google Test runner for the output, and have the project.yml file set up to output gtest like reports. 

The X-CUBE-AZRTOS-H7RS middleware is missing the setting to change the USBX System Stack Size which in turn means that the USBX_MEMORY_STACK_SIZE define in the app_usbx.h file can not be changed from its default of 1024. Hi everyone,I'm currently porting the App of STM32U5 SBSFU example to CubeMX and "smooth" is not the word I would use to describe the process.Namely, the SBSFU example includes Bootloader, Loader and App projects with memory map being in separate centralized header files included by all these projects. These files (region_defs and flash_layout) are not fully polished (some bugginess and inconsistencies) but they do ease the memory management a lot by using defines and not hardcoding; these defines are then used in projects' linker files in order to define memory regions.In contrast, CubeMX just provides a UI representation of the memory space where users can input all the memory bounds, be it flash or RAM. The trouble is, we can only enter numbers and not constants, so generated code is full of hardcoded address bounds.This does not play well with SBSFU Example - since these address bounds are not only used in LD files, but rather for defining FLASH areas

Hi,I'm a teacher, not a NASA technician, and for years I've been using STM32CubeMX with Nucleo series boards to teach my classes of 16-17 year-olds the basics of microcontroller programming. After a few years, I'd prepared numerous examples of increasing difficulty, with the MX section being a key component. Along with the exercises, I'd prepared the lessons on slides. If the IDE version changed, I'd have to make a few small adjustments. Now, in the labs, some technicians or colleagues have decided to install version 2.0. The difficulties in integrating the MX environment have increased exponentially. I have two solutions: either ask the technicians to ALSO install version 1.19 (an issue that involves extra work, money, time, and arguments with colleagues), or I'll spend a few weeks adapting the exercises (the first three took me two days) and rewriting the lessons. I would like to point out that in the integrated environment, only one lesson was needed to explain the MX funct

Hello,I have been trying to configure the ethernet RMII with PTP synchro on cube MX. The idea is to link the PPS signal to trigger the timer. I can't manage to get the remap to be done to the ETH_PTP_PPS as is not displayed in the dropdown. According to the same cube mx that option should appear. On a side note when I enable the RMII_PTP_syncro I also loose all the config information of ethernet which i find rather strange. Do any of you have any suggestions on what's the proper way of configuring this? Is this even possible or is just a bug of the prompt that implies is possible? Thanks in advance ;)

Hi, I am using CubeMX 6.16.1 to work on a STM32F777ZIT6 target. However, the generated code does not have the Macro definitions of the GPIO pins in main.h. Hello ST Community!I am currently considering an STM32N6 for a new project and decided to use CoreMark as one of the benchmarks to compare candidates. According to its datasheet and published results on https://www.eembc.org/viewer/?benchmark_seq=13733, the STM32N657 should reach a score of ~3616. I noticed that the published results on the EEMBC website report usage of “ArmClang v15.0 - Keil v6.18” as the compiler. In STM32CubeCLT (including latest 1.20.0 version), there is CMake but no make.To build projects from CubeMx gererated make projects, I have to install STM32CubeIDE and add below into PATH.  C:\ST\STM32CubeIDE_2.0.0\STM32CubeIDE\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.make.win32_2.2.0.202409170845\tools\bin Manually install standard GnuWin32 Make is not enough because it miss some additional tools such as rm.exe, mkdir.exe ... 

I have just installed STM32 cubeMX v6.16.1 on my Windows 10 machine have the following issue:In the Pinout&Configuration step we can hover mouse over items in the left tree view and eventually we can click on links to Related Documents. However those documents open in Acrobat Reader on my machine, even tough I have configured PDF-XChange Editor as default PDF viewer (Windows Settings, Apps, by ending, .PDF -> PDF XChange Editor).When I double-click PDF files in Windows Explorer they properly open in PDF Xchange, not Acrobat Reader. Having PDFs open in Acrobat is really annoying due to the constant popups and waste of screen space with useless tabs.

I am developing a product using the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q dev board and have generated the configuration setup from CubeMX and developed the code in the CubeIDE. When I need to layout my own circuit board I will want to use the STM32N657A0 variant which has 169 pins and I was wondering if I am able to use CubeMX to change the existing configuration done for the Nucleo board to the STM32N657A0 169 pin device without destroying the code I have already developed? I have written the code using resources and pin outs available on the STM32N657A0 device but the actual pins are different on the two devices so need to know if I can make the transition using CubeMX or whether it will have to be done manually?

Since I upgraded to version 3.6.4 of STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code, the style used for automatic code formatting has changed. For example, curly braces are now inlined, not wrapped as they were before.How can I revert to the old style? 

I just downloaded the Cube IDE (v2.0) and none of the tutorials will play in it, none of the tutorials online match this IDE and I do not have the MX tool because ST said it was included in the Cube IDE. I'm ready to delete all of this mess or can anyone point me to current (as of today, 2/2026) methods to start from scratch.  BTW, yes, I have seen how to import 'older' projects, I've read several other posts, but if ST is serious then the tools ought to work properly or I'd have to consider them (ST and their tools) to uncared-for; i.e. is ST disinterested in selling us some MCUs even if we can't get started with THEIR tools. Either the tools should work and the site's info should be correct or we will have no choice but to look elsewhere. There are plenty of MCUs around these days.

Hi all,I m trying to enter DFU mode for my SensrTile.box PRO using my USB.the problem is STM32cubeProgrammer  couldn't connect to my board.However, when i try to use another PC it works perfectly.therefore i suspect the problem might be related to  a driver issue on my laptop.Could someone help me resolve this issue?Thank youFor reference, my laptop is an Asus TUF Gaming A15.
