STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

I've just bought a NUCLEO-F103RB board, and installed STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0.I've gone through the following steps:Made a simple application (File->New->STM32 Project)PA5 configured as a GPIO output (for the green LED LD2), and PC13 as a GPIO input (for the blue button B1)The c code is a simple "if button pressed then turn on LED, otherwise turn LED off". All works as expected.I then double clicked on the ioc file to use the GUI to edit the pin configuration, and under Pinout & Configuration I enabled USART2 (changing it from mode Disable to Asynchronous). All other parameters were left untouched.After using the cog icon (Device Configuration Tool Code Generation) I rebuilt the project and used Run As to download it to the board. As usual the console in the IDE reports "Download in Progress, File download complete, Verifying..., Download verified successfully", but then repeatedly prints "Target is not respo

Does anyone have experience with integrating hierarchical state machines (C-code) with a STM32CubeIDE project?For example, the QP/C software by Quantum Leaps generates state machine C-code based on a graphical modeling tool. If the state machine diagram changes the C-code is re-generated: https://www.state-machine.com/qpc/index.htmlHow can this capability be integrated with the STM32CubeIDE?In particular, if the state machine code is updated, how is the project source updated?Also, if the STM32CubeMX files (.ioc) is updated and the project source is re-generated, how can the state machine code be protected? Hi all, I have an STM32H743 project that I've been working on. I've worked on a fair amount of projects in STM32CubeIDE in the past, but now I have a problem I haven't encountered before: the linker is putting my .bss section in flash as well as RAM. I'm not sure why an uninitialized section would be placed in flash... I've attached the output from the build analyzer as well as my linker script. The script is almost the default, except that I've added D2/D3 RAM and have moved stack & heap to DTCM. I've used very similar scripts in other projects and BSS ends up only in RAM in those projects.Can anyone find what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! 

Hello, I saw a thread titled Your Input Matters: How Do You Use STM32Cube Examples?And I tried to enter to the examples selector of CubeIde (I never tried before).When I open the selector, my computer takes several minutes with the cpu fan at highest speed. After this, I tried to select a board to reduce posibilities, and happened the same, but I had a memory full error.The only way to continue is to kill CubeIde. It's impossible to close it safely.But now CubeIde does not start. It ask me the workspace, and shows the picture of screenshot I attached.If I select a different workspace, it works. And now, my questions are...Can I restore

Hello everyone,I want to make a usb connection using USB_OTG_FS_DP and USB_OTG_FS_DM pins on the STM32U575 board. When I tried it with the examples found on the internet, it didn't work. When I tried the same method on the STM32F401 board, it was enough to select only USB_OTG_FS -> Device Only and Middleware -> USB_DEVICE -> virtual com port. What basic settings do I need to make to see my STM32U575 board as a virtual com port on the computer? I'm not very experienced in this. Thank you in advance for your help. Also, when I use the ux_device_cdc_acm example in CubeIDE, it does not appear as a virtual com port.

I'm developing a LoRaWAN device using STM32CubeIDE with the LoRaWAN stack (SubGHz_Phy and LoRaMac) on an STM32WLE5JCI6 microcontroller. Using Stm32CubeIDE 1.3.0...When I Copy and Paste a project in the Project Explorer (and name differently), it does copy the project. I also renamed the CubeMX IOC file to match the new project name. Then I did a Clean and a new Build. However, when I go to Debug, I get a number.To verify that the new project is using the new project paths I do a "Close" on the first project, then rename the old project in Windows Explorer.Builds fine, but when debugging it is complains that it can't find source files. It is still looking for the source files in the original project.... I changed the source lookup path in the Debug Configurations > Source to look in this project, and it still cannot find the files.And when checking if there are any files in the new project's Debug folders, they are indeed empty. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Before the STM32CubeIDE had serious issues with the live expressions during debug, with variables showing random values and signs when they were unsigned (the issues are various years old now https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-mcus/stm32cubeide-1-18-0-released/m-p/778624#M34678) After updating to STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.18.0 Build: 24413_20250227_1633 (UTC) the live expressions completely broke All the variables now show 0 and they won't vary As you can see from the screenshot, hovering while on breakpoint shows the correct value. BackgroundI have developed firmware for a LoRaWAN device by modifying the LoRaWAN_End_Node example for the B-WL5M-SUBG1 development board, which was extracted from the STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32WL series (v.1.3.0) from ST's website (not through CubeIDE). Based on this, I have further developed a custom PCB containing the STM32WL5MOC and other peripherals (antennae, RTC, LEDs, buzzers, etc.). SituationTo test the custom board, I have flashed the STM32 chip with a simple firmware which toggles the GPIO pins based on button presses - this works as intended. Working with getting TraceRecorder to work with an L562 project.  When the tracerecorder software is added (using the package), SYS_DBG_ENABLE_TA4 is set to 0, which inactivates the feature.  SYS_DBG_ENABLE_TA4 has to be manually set to 1 to enable the feature.  So far, so good.  Get it working, and then decide to make a change to the .ioc file.  exit configurator.SYS_DBG_ENABLE_TA4 is reset to zero.If it is set, PLEASE leave it that way, since it makes no sense to reset it.  Amazing the number of errors you can get on default settings (like streaming mode taking almost half a megabyte of memory or more).I'm regarding this as a bug.Thanks.
