STM32 MCUs Motor control

Using "Motor Control Workbench" I created a project for the following hardware:NUCLEO-F303RE + X-NUCLEO-IHM16M1.I did not make any changes to the standard configuration.I generated the files by setting the TARGET to CubeIDE with firmware package FW V1.10.0 and STM32CubeMX 5.2.1The project was successfully created. Through CubeIDE I tried to import the project into my WorkSpace using "Import -> Existing Projects into workspace", but I get a message "No projects are found to import".So I used "Import -> Projects from folder or Archive", then I selected the directory that contains my project, finally it was imported into my workspace.However it is not possible to start the "build", probably because the configuration file is missing. Why is this project not compatible with CubeIDE?I am attaching the Workbench file with which it is possible to generate the project to be used in CubeIDE.

If anyone has an example of how they communicated with the STEVAL -SPIN3201 motor controller that they can share, I would greatly appreciate it. The chip used on the board is a STSPIN32F0, and it communicates on USART configured as an interrupt. I have the workbench software working with it just fine, but I'd like to communicate with it using a serial port. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi, I have some question on mcu selection in MC workbench. As I have previous build an application based on STM32F103VC, I would like to use MC workbench to do configration. However, i cannot select it from the list. Are there any other solution? Thank You

Hello Community,I have purchased a STEVAL-SPIN3201 eval board last week. I want to drive a 48V Drum motor using this eval board with Motor Control Workbench 5.40. But I don't have the full motor parameters. Based on the user manual UM2152, the motor parameter configuration need to modify if different motor application is used and then generate new firmware code download into the eval board. My question is anyone tried this kind of motor using Motor Control Workbench 5.40. i am using STEVAL-SPIN3201 development board for the project.first i start the workbench and give the board details then after setting i give to generate code.the workbench is giving the code with errors.why this happens...?i am attaching my log which is generated from workbench..

After I load the program into the MCU, I tried to connect the device in the monitor and it show the message "connection failed! No response. check the communication cable, the power on the board or the baudrate". I have checked the baud rate and port is correct and I don't understand the problem.@Later, I enter the debugger mode and when I step into the code MCboot(pMCI, pMCT) inside MX_MotorControl_Init() in motorcontrol.c, it stucks on this line. I wonder what would be the problem.In addition, everything works well in single motor mode. I can spin the motor in the monitor. However, when I switch to dual motor mode, the problem occurs. IDE used: System Workbench for STM32Software used: MotorControl Workbench 5.4.0MCU used: STM32f303VC

I am a hardware guy, so please bear with me. I want to build the project for the STEVAL-ESC001 in CubeIDE (I don't have IAR). Can anyone help me understand what are the files I need or how to figure out which files I need to include in the project so I can build and debug it? The project as expoted from Workbench does not work, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Thank you.

Hi there, I am using ststem workbench for stm32, cube mx v 5.3 and mcsdk 5.4. I want to develop a dual motor application with stm32f303re. However, after I generate the code and upload it. It cannot connect through the monitor. (Works for single motor). What would be the potential problem? I would be very appreciate and gratful for receiving any of your suggestions.

Hello, we are using STM32F303 to control a BLDC motor ( 48V, 900 rpm, with encoder) . The motor is working fine most of the time with the generated code using ST motor workbench. However we have the following issues:1- Motor works fine in torque mode but not in speed mode. It generates so much noise and doesnt spin under load. Without load, spins but the speed is oscillating .2- In torque mode, when we spin the motor at high speed, it works for a while ( 15 min) and them speed drops as the test goes on ( from 450 rpm to 370 rpm )3- The other problem is that we cannot run the motor above 450 rpm. applying more Iq does not help. Increasing input voltage does not help either.I really appreciate your urgent response.thanks

We are testing on a STEVAL-SPIN3201 board the motor described in attached pdf document.Any suggestions for Motor Parameters to put in?The Motor Control Workbench included Motor Profiler is not supporting the STEVAL-SPIN3201 board, any option to use this board to extract the motor profile?

Hello everyoneI would like to know if there's a stand alone Windows software for monitoring motors: I generated software using Profiler/WorkBench tools, and with WorkBench I can monitor parameters using Monitor function. So we can check temperature, speed, power and so on. The problem is that I have to run WorkBench and open a project to reach monitor tool via serial port.Now I've to test software in the field, and I would like to use a software similar to monitor, without passing through WorkBench.Does anybody know if a software like this exist?Thank you guysRoberto

Hello everyoneI'm playing with IHM08M1, and I'm trying to increase current up to 40/50 Ampere (peak). Changing parameters in Workbench I can do it, and motor spin well, even under heavy loads. There's only a problem: I've to remove one LMV331 in the circuit otherwise Overcurrent signal will trigger BKIN on the MCU.Using an oscilloscope, I noticed that the output of the open collectors comparators is not truly "digital": it is expected that signal stay at 3V3 until current*Rshunt is less than Vref, but it happens that this signal start to decrease when current increase in one phase. If the current increase "too much" this decreasement causes the BKIN detection, while current*Rshunt is minor of Vref.I've tried to change capacitor (10nF) on comparators outputs, but I've not obtained improvements.I've noticed this behaviour on 3 different IHM08M1, and I changed LMV331, to be sure that they weren't defective.Does anybody know why of this strange behavio

I would like to create a minimal 3 shunt PGA driven FOC control from an STM32F303CB chip.  It has 4 op-amps (I need 3) and 4 ADCs. I can see in CubeMX that I can set up 3 op amps in PGA mode gain 16 and 3 ADCs (ADC1,2,3) with TIM1 TRGO event, which gives me perfectly synchronous current conversions and one would think that would be ideal. I can then use a spare channels for the BUS voltage, or ADC4. The comparators can stack on top of the OPAMP input pins (sensible) and run the OC control. Great, I have a minimal sensorless FOC system, when I add a few gate drives (STDRIVE_601 in this case) and transistors (Whatever...cheap TO-252 FETs). This is a fantastic building block for "just give me a motor that spins with virtually no PCB space".But on the MCWorkbench, this seems impossible. Embedded PGA only allows for 2 opamps, and in any case, they do not appear to be connected to the correct pins, which are not modifiable.

I am using the ST Motor Control Workbench V5.4.1.19309 with a brushless DC motor, Nanotec DB59L024035-A. I have successfully profiled the motor using 'Motor Profiler 5.41. The motor parameters and Speed Sensing have been set to use Hall Sensors. When I use the Workbench Monitor function to start and stop the motor in either direction, the motor spins as expected. However, when I attempt to switch motor direction while the motor is running, the motor stops with either a 'speed feedback' error or an 'over-voltage' error. Should the motor algorithms allow the motor direction to be rapidly changed while the motor is running? - I would have expected the code to slow the motor to a stop, and then ramp the motor speed up in the opposite direction.

I am using a B-G432B-ESC1 board and ST Motor Control Workbench to test run a couple of brushless DC motors equipped with Hall Effect sensors. When attached to a motor with Hall Efect sensors, does the Motor Profiler program look at the inputs from the Hall sensors to determine their phase relationship, so automatically configure the signals into the correct timing order through firmware when using the motor with the Motor Control Workbench? Or do the Hall sensor inputs need to be wired to the ESC in a defined order ?

I have the project files downloaded from STMicro for the 3D printer board, STEVAL-3DP001V1, filename en.stsw3dp001.zip. The project is for SW4 and I can get it imported and working with System Workbench but I'd like to get it successfully imported to STM32CubeIDE. There are lots of errors and files not found. Too many to be just a glitch so I must be doing something incorrectly. I've followed the instructions for converting the project using the ST information but no luck. Has anyone tried to import this particular project or anyone willing to give it a try?Thanks,tjm

I need some working project for B-G431B-ESC1. I was trying to use MotorControl Workbench (X-CUBE-MCSDK). There is a project for the target but it creates an absolutely useless project. Some non-existing header files, no main file included in the project.I see what is the problem - I have to install STM32CubeMX. But I don't want to use HAL layer, I work with bare metal drivers (CMSIS). When I try to compile the project I get - Fatal Error[Pe035]: #error directive: "Unknown target." In the devices list (in IAR7 and IAR8) I see no STM32G4xx family.Well.
