STM32 MCUs Motor control

I am trying to simulate/test code that would would drive the STSPIN32F0 from a control MCU, it would just save some time if there is source code available, it has oviosly been implemented for the ST Motor Control Workbench.

Hello,I have EVALKIT-ROBOT-1. I am working on connecting the device but I couldnt make it.Here are the marks what I did:1) The motor encoder and power cables connected to J12 and J10 respectively on the kit.2) I connected A and B lines between my isolated USB-RS485 converter and RS485 port on the kit. TERM and A+ connection shorted with a cable.3) 120Ohm tied between A and B lines on my isolated USB-RS485 converter.4) Motor Control Workbench 5.4.3 downloaded.5) en.STSW-ROBOT-1_R1_LL downloaded.6) I loaded the en.STSW-ROBOT-1_R1_LL project on Motor Control Workbench software and wanted to make connection by clicking "Monitor" button.7) BUT I always got "Connection failed! No response, check the communication cable, the power on the board or the baudrate (set to 115200 bps)The configuration is Port: COM6, Baudrate: 115200ALSO,I tried with ModbusPoll software and no response.

This is a basic question but has me stumped. I have an existing motor project with a *.stmcx file. I generated a new *.xml file for the motor using the profiler. How do I get the *.xml file converted over to a new *.stmcx file? I can load the existing project in the Motor Control Workbench but it doesn't give an option to load a new motor file .....

I see that 128 pin package is supported even though it is a non-stocked item at Digikey. I can build a project for that package, but I need to build for the 64 pin package. How can I do that?

Has ST some solutions for many motors control (3 motor for gimbal, or 4 motors for drones) from one board compatible with ST MC Workbench for fast development? How I can develop drones?

Hi,I inflated the en.stsw-spin3204.zip into the c:/PRG/STSW-SPIN3204-V1.0.0 directory.I follow the UM3210 '2.5.2.3 Create a build with system workbench for STM32' but import was wrong. Maybe the fw source too old (2019.02.15) for new STM32CubeIDE? What can I do?  Do I import the files one-by-one by hand? :(Ups! System Workbench.The solution:I have System Workbench on my computer, but I haven't used it in a long time. Import works with it, if I copy the files into the c:\GITshared\Cube\Stspin32f0_6steps_v1\stm32_cube\ directory.

My company develop a new BLDC Drive board in order to control a BLDC Motor For use in automatic doors mechanism.i attach the datasheet of the motor. The electrical parameters of motor is the following:1. Number of polar pairs : 22.Max.application speed: 4000 rpm3.Nominal Current :1.5Apk4.Nomianl DC voltage:24v5. Rs in 3.54 Ohm.6. Ls in 9.06 mH.7. B-Emf constant in Vms/Krpm N/A8.Nominal Torque is 0.048N.m and stall torque torque is 12N.m9.Nominal current is 1.3A and stall current is 5A10.Nominal speed is 4000rpm and stall speed is 280011.Motor's rotor is possitioned through the hall effect switch and the angle is 60°it is critical the parameter B-Emf constant in order to make the motor spinning successfully? Do I need to buy the B-G431B-ESC1 board only to measure this parameter using the ST Motor Profiler software?

When we're using Motor Control Workbench to control the motor, we can get the motor information and control the motor through Motor Control Workbench. Is this information available via UART?We need to know how Motor Control Workbench communicates with the motor from our application i.e. we need to know the communication protocol and what motor information is available? What is the update rate? In other words, we want to know what data we can request and receive from ESC. Could you please, provide us with the related information?Thanks.

Hi! I am trying to control sensorless BLDC motor using STEVAL-ESC001V1.I finished profiling my motor and working on the example on Workbench(STEVAL-ESC001V1 electronic speed control 5.4.0).I opened the example on the workbench and set the motor parameters (I didn't change the name of the project)and fed PWM through other STM32 kit.Here are my external inputs and PWM signals I am generating (PWM is 490Hz).I can hear the beep sound continuously without PWM signal and the motor barely moves like 1 degree changes per deep.When I feed PWM signal, the beep sound is gone and the motor didn't move at all. Literally doing nothing.(I was changing the PWM width from 1060us to 1700us, Still nothing)What can be wrong here?I am just guessing this can be happened due to the gain of OPAMP because I am using the big motor not like small ones for drones. It is 300W 3000RPM 12V 10A(Nominal).

Hi folksWe have a 3-shunt sensor-less FOC solution for running a PMSM motor generated from STM32 Motor Control Workbench (ver 5.4.4). The max readable current is upwards of 500A. However, we find that the phase current gets limited to 200A peak. When the peak phase current exceeds 200A, the motor stops but remains in the Run state and outputs a DC current of 50A, which is incidentally equal to the current value specified in the starting parameters.We find that we are able to get higher phase currents by entering an incorrect shunt value in the workbench. This way, we were able to reach a peak of almost 300A. Entering a higher/lower shunt value increases/decreases the actual peak phase current proportionally. In short, the current is always being limited to 200A as read by the software.We are not able to figure out the reason for this behavior. What are the factors/parameters that limit the peak phase current?Also, why does the motor stop but remain

Dear Sir/Madam,I am using STSPIN32F0A IC for BLDC motor control for sensorless application. Since we are using Motor workbench to derive motor profile and would like to use the CONTROL MONITOR software to control the motor operation. But I have NUCLEO-L152RE board, which is not in the provided list of control board I can't use STLink VCOM port. So, I planned to program IC using Keil ulink2 kit and use any third part USB to UART COM port bridge IC to control the motor operation.Will Motor control workbench accept COM ports other than STLINK VCOM?Also why can't I use NUCLEO-L152RE board? what is the difference b/w L152RE and other boards?Regards,A Eashwar

Hello !I'm using Motor Control Workbench and the eval board STM32G431CBU6 with a PMSM.Fisrt, I have used the exemple 'ElectronicsSpeedControl' of ST and I have changed the motor's parameters. After the debug and compilation, the motor makes noise 'bip'. But the motor doesn't run and the fault is 'Over current' with the monitor. This is the same with an another motor. After, I have generated my own project with the parameters retrieved from Motor Profiler. I did the same Cube MX and 'Generate code'. The eval board connects with the monitor but when I put on 'Start Motor', there is the following message : "Communication is closed, the board doesn't reponse correctly". I checked every configuration on CubeMX and I don't see differences between the first and the second cases. So why in the second case the communication is closed ? Moreover, does anyone have any clue how do I solve the problem of overcurrent ? Thank yo

I am trying to use this ESC to drive a hoverboard hub motor. Motor profiler works, and I can build an application that lets me run at max speed. Need speed feedback to control torque at lower speeds. The motor has both hall sensors and an encoder installed. I can't get either to work. When I make the change in motor control workbench, build the application and load it on the board, the motor will not run. Any tutorials, or examples of adding hall sensors or encoder into a project.

I am using the MC Workbench tool to drive a 3-Phase BLDC Motor with Hall Sensors. I have enabled the hall sensors in the workbench, downloaded the code and flashed my board. How do I actually use the Hall sensor to control the speed? No matter what speed I set, the motor will always go to its max.

What is MTPA in the MC workbench speed position feedback management --> Hall sensors? This is NOT the Maximum Torque Per Amp, I believe. Any reference for this?Thanks for reading.

Hello,i'm using a b-g431b-esc1 with a 12 V sm-pmsm motor. After running the motor profiler and the motor control workbench, i've played with the cube ide. I have noticed the motor doesn't draw more than 1,6 A, but max current was set to ~5 A in the motor profiler. In pmsm_motor_parameters.h is a define for the nominal current which is set to 1,6 A, but changing it doesn't seem to affect anything. Do you have any ideas how to approach the problem?Greetings

Hello forum! I am trying to characterize a motor for experimentation with the workbench. I spun the rotor with a hand drill and got the following waveform, with the first 3 channels being H1, H2, H3 and the analog voltage being the back-EMF from the motor phase C. It looks to me like this is a 120 deg phase offset between each hall sensor, and since the channel back-EMF is 22 deg AHEAD of the H3, the placement electrical angle should be -22 deg, in the workbench motor parameters. Do you think I am misunderstanding the definition of the these values?Thanks for reading.Note the actual form factor of the hall sensor is within the 60 deg region of the stator.

Hello,I've got problems to connect with the STEVAL-SPIN3204 Eval board.I tried all the Baudrates which are available.the Stlink shows up normally in the device manager.Or does the STEVAL-SPIN3204 does not work with the Motor control workbench?Are there some way to test the hardware or did i Forgot something?

Hi ST CommunityI am working on a project where I want to use a BLDC motor for a screwdriving process. The setup is based on the B-G431B-ESC1 and a Maxon motor https://www.maxongroup.com/maxon/view/product/651618 (with a 6:1 gear added). The motor control is based on FOC generated from using STM32 MC Workbench. Power supply is 24V 10A. A hall sensor is used as a speed sensor.I am experiencing two issues here, comparing to what I expect, and to what I experience when I connect the motor to an off-the-shelf ESC. Low startup torqueFor a screwdriving process it is important that the motor can deliver a high torque already from zero speed. I am having a hard time archiving this with my setup. I can only archive something like 0.5Nm, but the current applied is low. Is it possible to setup the motor controller

Hi !Is there a way to fine-tune motor parameters (final ramp value, speed ramp up...) in the motor workbench without systematically re-generting code from Motor Control Workbench and then Cube-MX everytime every time I'd like to adjust a parameter ?It could take more than 3 minutes to change each parameter which makes the fine-tuning a hurdle.

Hi everyone,I'm trying to control a brushless motor with a NUCLEO-F302R8 + X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1. I've follow the video given by STM on youtube "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3ZuM2Z0UGs". I've follow each steps and my motor won't start with my program. But the motor is starting with the motor profiler. I think the problem is not in the code but in the ST Motor Control Workbench. I didn't change this settings but the problem is maybe here.Does anyone have the same problem and can help me ?
