STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Split from The MCU selector cannot be opened, but the board selector can be opened normally.That issue is confirmed as solved; so this is a different issueI had exactly the same issue and could be solved by removing xcubeai.But it's confusing while reading this thread, another reply was marked as solution. Actually deleting .stm32cubemx/finder doesn't work.  

HiAccording to the reference manual the high-cycle capable Flash of a STM32H562 is mapped to the address 0x0900_0000 to 0x0901_7FFF. The Memory Management Tool of CubeMX does not allow me to generate a Region in this address range (see Error below). Is this correct or should CubeMX not allow the generation of a memory region in this range? The Flash Option Byte was configured for the use of the high-cycle Flash.As a work around I can of course manually edit the linker script.I use STM32CubeMX Version 6.14 with the Firmware Package V1.5.0 to generate a STM32CubeIDE project on Windows 11.  

In STM32CubeMX, here is the orientation for a chip with a red dot marking pin 1 at the top left when text reads from left to right.In real life, here is the orientation for a chip with a red dot marking pin 1. As far as I'm aware, all STM32 chips are oriented like this, with pin 1 at the bottom left when text reads from left to right.

I have a suggestion for the STM32CubeMonitor-Power application.For the ultra low power applications it would be great if the Y-axis could be logarithmically scaled, so that the area around 0.5-100 µA is more detailed (sleep mode) compared to the active mode (1-2 mA). As it is now I cannot quantify the current usage with a glance when the device is sleeping.I would very much like this to be added.Greetings,Rico

ProblemInstalled version 1.17 of the stmcube ide. Need the .ioc code generation feature to work. The most convenient way to do this is to login so the ide can download firmware. I have tried to login. Login failed multiple timesTried1. Turn off firewall2. Run STMCube IDE as adminstrator3. Run installer as administrator4. Use mobile hotspot5. Installing newer and older versions of STM6. Installing the program on a different PCNone of the above options worked  

I am currently evaluating thefor use with 1000Base-T Ethernet and am attempting to configure the peripherals using STM32CubeMX. While following the same process as with other STM32 chips, I was unable to find the Ethernet configuration under Pinout & Configuration -> Connectivity. Could you kindly advise where I should configure the Ethernet settings?Thank you for your assistance.

I am using STM32CubeIDE for a project using custom hardware with a STM32G0B1CBT6.I recently hit a bug where my code was doing a 32-bit write to an address that wasn't on a 32-bit boundary (off by 2 bytes) and a Hard Fault was generated.I've corrected the code to avoid this, but this same code worked OK on an earlier project - which used Keil uVision and a STM32F103C8T6.I've seen references to compiler options to control this behavior, but I've not found them in CubeIDE or Keil.  Am I wrong here?  Or can someone point me to where those options might be?  Or is this some kind of difference between these two chips?Also: I'm on the fence about whether this is a good feature or not.  On the one hand, avoiding unaligned memory  seems fairly easy.  On the other hand, Hard Faults really cause havoc in my world. 

In STM32CubeIDE, I can compile C++ code in the project. The CMake file generated for the VSCode extension doesn't work with C++. Is there a way to use C++ code with less hassle than trying to get around this by hand?

Hi ST, This is just to let you know that STM32CubeMX version 6.17.0 does not generate correct cmake file for the STM32WL33 and this error results in the microntroller not starting up correctly but hangs in function  SystemInit() in system_stm32wl3x.c.   The problems is that the wrong is -mcpu is generated. I have an old Ubuntu 18.04 system which allows STM32CubeIDE to run, but the STM32_Programmer failed because libm.so and libc.so were wrong. I found glibc-2.30 and copied the libraries into the same directory as the STM32_Programmer lib. Now I just get a seg fault, even when trying to just get the version number:bin/STM32_Programmer_CLI --version Segmentation fault (core dumped)Is there any way to figure out what might be the problem?

I wanted to try out the new STMCubeMX2 with one of the suitable STM32C5 MCU and I get this errorNot sure what does this mean, is there any certificate needed to use STMCubeMX2 ?

I just bought a Nucleo-G491RE board and installed STM32CUBE to start a new project. During the project setup, the IDE downloaded and unzipped stm32cube_fw_g4_v160.zip. Then, when it downloaded stm32cube_fw_g4_v161.zip, this error message popped up. (screenshot below) Error downloading the following filesstm32cube_fw_g4_v161.zip (HTTP Access Forbidden) I'd appreciate any help to resolve the error. Thanks.

Not the issue of debug probe, just change 'Reset behaviour' to 'None' could solve this.

Is there and/or will there be an approved off-target unit testing framework for STM32 (in my case, STM32H5)? I've been trying to stand up a test project generated by STM32CubeMX, imported into VS Code using Unity unit-testing framework, but running into pitfalls. In the past, I've used PlatformIO's with ease, was hoping the STM32 VSCode ext pack would be similar out the gate.Over all, I'm aiming to test against the business logic and not needing a full-blown simulator. My rule of thumb is its good practice to do some kind of off-site (off-board) unit testing.Even if there is a solid blog post with how to setup STM32 + CMake + Unity (or equivalent) and vanilla C using the CubeMX generated project, that would be most helpful. Most of the blog posts I find are either outdated, doing something custom, or a different architecture.  Yes, I'll fully admit, my strong points are MSVC and C#'s tooling for test frameworks, and not so much with CMake/CTest.Tha

Hi ST,I’m trying to configure the clocks for the STM32C071GBUx MCU in CubeMX (latest version, 6.17).This MCU has two SPI interfaces, two UARTs, and two I²C peripherals. However, CubeMX only allows me to configure the clock for one UART, one I²C, and no SPI at all.Am I missing something?I’ve attached the complete clock configuration diagram below.

I'm using VSCode and J-Link for programming/flashing my STM23 MCUs.Unfortunately using the default setup from SEGGER (https://kb.segger.com/J-Link_Visual_Studio_Code#Support),J-Link only erases areas/pages needed.I found no information about modifying the process of flashing.Is there a way to modify the setup within VSCode in a way, to do a full chip erase when flasing by default?Many thanks!

I work in a workspace but I use vim with clangd for editing my code. I am wondering if it is possible to create a compile_commands.json file and if so how. If the IDE uses cmake under the hood then it should be rather straightforward but I cannot understand how to proceed. see e.g. this:https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/variable/CMAKE_EXPORT_COMPILE_COMMANDS.html 

I've successfully set up a docker container building my project using the headless script. I've also successfully generated a Windows version of the compile_commands.json using the setting inside the properties menu. But I need a version of this that's from the linux build, because I want to lint inside the docker container for continuous integration. I've looked at what gets changed inside the .settings folder when that setting is changed in the normal non headless IDE ("generateCDB=true"), and I've tried simply building the code with that folder and the files in it in the same place in linux, but compile_commands.json is not generated.

I am looking for a way to use a different editor for a STM32CubeIDE project. For the editor to show correct errors and provide code-completion, I would need a compile_commands.json file, which the clangd language server can use.I found this post which describes how to generate this file using an external program called compiledb.
