STM32 MCUs Software development tools

A couple of weeks ago STM32Cube disappeared off my computer. I went a got the install file for the most recent version (2.1.1). Since I have installed this when I try to import an old project into the workspace or use MX to generate code when trying to configure the pin outs to start a new project it keep trying to import lots of additional projects giving prompts that the project is old, it will be removed the new version will be installed. It then tries to import the STM32072B_EVAL project and hangs up.All the projects I'm trying to work with at the moment are based on the NUCLEO-F413 board.These are the imported projects

Hi all, I've developed an external loader for STM32H563ZIT6 nucleo board for W25Q128JV external memory. I've followed the ST guide on how to implement it and it's currently working on cube programmer:verified mass erase, download of a .hex file, verify through data read and everything is ok. When I load the external loader into the debugger section of my main program, flagging initialize and enable flags, the debugger gives me errors; attached the .txt file with the console log. I've added a gpio pin on the init() function of the loader to check if the init starts when loading through debugger, but the led have never tourned on.  Can someone please give me a hand to solve this problem? Thanks 

Has anyone had success installing the Cube IDE on a Raspberry Pi 5?  I first got the error message "Installation dir cannot be temporary one: /home/my_name/Downloads/makeself_dir_o70WRx"I tried various workarounds suggested by Gemini, ultimately creating new directory/opt/stm32_installermoving the unzipped file to this new directory and then trying .../opt/stm32_installer$ sudo ./file_name.shIt went right ahead and created a new temporary folder in opt/stm32_installer and failed in the same way again!If anyone has succeeded in getting the Cube IDE to work on a R Pi 5, please let me know how you did it.Thanks for reading this far.

I am working with the MDF peripheral and find this to be a great peripheral. However the CubeMX generated code for multiple DMA based filters is not correct.I am using two filters with DMA and CubeMX generates the following descriptors:MDF_HandleTypeDef MdfHandle0;MDF_FilterConfigTypeDef MdfFilterConfig0;MDF_HandleTypeDef MdfHandle1;MDF_FilterConfigTypeDef MdfFilterConfig1;DMA_NodeTypeDef Node_GPDMA1_Channel1;DMA_QListTypeDef

Unfortunately on my computer the project is not created as packs can't be downloaded, error is the following (in this case for button pack): Error installing STMicroelectronics.button_part_drivers.2.0.0 pack Could not save pack of pack-URL: https://developer.st.com/st-pack-server/api/v1/pack/STMicroelectronics.button_part_drivers.2.0.0.pack, got: Unsupported `GLOBAL_AGENT.HTTP_PROXY` configuration value: URL protocol must be "http:".   I'm behind a proxy (set at system level), and if I use the URL listed I'm able to download and manually install the pack. I tried setting proxy information on MX2 as IP:port with no result. Is there a way to solve this?

STM32CubeIDE 1.15.1 login error, although Check Connection shows "green" in the "Firmware Updater". Because of the Login error I cannot Install "STM32CubeU0 Firmware Package V1.0.0 / 12-February-2024". I have seen in the Forum, that this kind of error has been around for a while, and even with this (for the time being) latest version of STM32CubeIDE. If some of you fellows have working ideas, please let me know!

 I noticed the following in the recent post announcing STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code 3.8.0:CLI tools: A new bundle manager is enabling VS Code to download required CLI tools. This replaces the all-in-one STM32CubeCLT package. ...Now that STM32CubeCLT is no longer required by the VSCode integration, what is the future of STM32CubeCLT?  In particular, will it continue to be updated and supported?

Hi @STackPointer64 , I wanted to note one issue related to the 'Save As' feature. After I enter the project name (I2C_new_project_name) and the project repository (/home/gil/.../I2C_new_project_name) I click the Save button. I open the newly created ioc2 file with a text editor and I notice that the source code path is the one of the old project: "CMake": {"outputPath": "I2C_old_project_name_cmake","toolchain": "GCC","exportSource": "include-packs-from-local","removeBoard": true} I was expecting to see the source code path of the new project. Sure enough if I generate the project with this ioc2 file it will write to the I2C_old_project_name_cmake directory.  I edited the ioc2 file  to change the source code path to the new path to fix this issue.   Regards, Gil Original post:

Hello everyone,I am currently working with the STM32N6570-DK board, and I'm still in the process of understanding the workflow for the STM32 programming environment (STM32CubeIDE/CubeMX). (I have implemented simple code to turn on the led with a button and using the RNG available in the board, as a get to know the board and programming environment before this).I am trying to include the CMSIS-DSP library (arm_math.h) into my project, but I am stuck. I have tried several approaches without success:I tried following the method shown in this tutorial video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxqnBByUvKE), but it didn't work for my setup.I tried manually copying and pasting the .h and source files directly into my project folders, but that also failed and resulted in compilation errors. Cross selector displays operation frequency of STM32H743II as 400MHz, but it should be 480MHz. I've refreshed all data and databases but the result is the same. Is there a known solution for this issue?

In STM32CubeIDE 2.1.1, Project Explorer keeps collapsing constantly.This has been a persistent bug for a very long time and is very annoying.Can't ST just fix this since it is based on Eclipse?

The data sheet for the G474RE says it has a Memory Protection Unit. The article on how to enable/configure it in STM32CubeMX shows a CORTEX_M# node under "System Core". I don't see that node. Thank you.

Hi! I'm working on setting up FDCAN communication using the STM32N6570X0-Q Nucleo Board. However, when I try to modify the bit timing parameters—such as the Nominal Prescaler, Nominal Time Seg1, or Seg2—the baud rate doesn't seem to change regardless of the values I set.On the receiving side, I'm using a STM32H533RE Nucleo Board to echo the messages, but it doesn't receive anything—so I suspect the issue may be with the timing configuration on the N6570X0-Q.Do you have any idea what might be causing this behavior?Thanks in advance! 

Hi everyone, I am developing an application for the NUCLEO-H7S3L8 kit using VS Code with the STM32 VS Code Extension. I have successfully built both the 'Boot' and 'App' projects.Currently, I am struggling with flashing the 'App' project firmware into the external Flash memory. In STM32CubeIDE, selecting an External Loader (.stldr) is very intuitive within the Debug Configuration, but I haven't found the equivalent setting in VS Code for the STM32H7RS series.Could you please guide me on how to configure VS Code to recognize the External Loader and the proper workflow for flashing code to external memory for this specific MCU?PS: On STM32cubeIDE, I'm referring to this example: https://github.com/ST-TOMAS-Examples-ExtMem/stm32h7rs_ospi/tree/main. Hello everyone, I recently encountered a strange BUG.I use DMA to transfer ADC data. Previously, this program was configured this way without any problem, but it suddenly doesn't work these two days. What's even stranger is that I used STlink in the IT file to HAL_DMA_IRQHandler(&hdma_adc1); Break point. The value can be read out during debugging, but the serial port still doesn't work.The development environment is CubeIDE1.18.1

There are 4 external events that can be chosen to trigger and reset individual counters of each HRTIM timer unit in STM32H743 MCU. CubeMX shows those events once the Event Configuration is chosen "Enabled" . Yet only Source 1 is active (allowed to be chosen) but the Source 3 that I need to connect internally to the TIM2 TRGO output is inactive (cannot be chosen) . Why? My attempts to use AI got strange results - after searching the STM documents AI concluded that CubeMX is limited , it allows only external on-pin connections and any internal connections must be manually coded in addition to the generated code. If it is so then why does CubeMX show those other options yet does not allow to choose them? Or is there way to activate those options ?Please anybody give me suggestion.Note: the STM32CubeMX is the latest downloaded and installed yesterday. The MCU library pack is also current.

Hi,when selecting the STM32C051K8 in Cube MX it seems that CubeMX has wrong configs/specs about it?As you can see from the screenshot below it shows it is a LQFP package but - unless I missed something - it is supposed to be a UFQFPN32 package.The main issues are...1) when searching for micros with that package, that micro does not appear2) not sure if the entire CubeMX generated code is somehow affected? Firth thought is that it is just a package difference but the pin count is the same so perhaps it is ok, but perhaps not? Point #2 is the most important at the moment. Could someone form ST please guarantee we can use CubeMX to configure the part?Many thanks 

It would be nice if the further versions could be running on case sensitive file system on macOS.Currently I need to use an USB key formatted APFS only. Then i can run the installer and install the programmer on this USB stick. As I most of the time only need the command line tools (*CLI) I copied the binaries and some folders with data on my case sensitive disk. They work fine. Only the GUI is not possible on the case-sensitive file system.
