STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Hello all, I have created a custom section in memory region for the controller 'STM32L073VBT6TR' and also modified the linker-script for the same. I am using the '__attribute__((section(".custom_section")))' with the variables to be placed in the custom-section but however some of the variables with the 'unsigned char' are taking 4-bytes . I assume its the issue for alignment. Kindly suggest a way out. I am using the STM32CUBE-IDE for the development

If I do it just after startup of STM32CubeIDE, I don't get the message, but it doesn't work either (there's a flash of the busy circle, then nothing)

I want to specify the HEX file for data into the STM32 and the elf file for symbols used in the debugger. The User interfec has changed though and I seem to only be able to get one or the other (i.e. just the hex or just the elf).This is a necessary operation as safety critical software need to be able to verify PROM contentsusing a CRC32 generated off the target processor. Hello there,Recently I bought the STM32H747 DISCO as I want to start working with microscontrollers. I've been working with FPGAs for a couple of years so I have general understanding of how things work. Howerver, the question I have is very basic - how do you run the code on the platform?So far I have a blinking LED application, which builds with no errors, but when it comes to running the code i get some issues. I connect the eval board to CN2 and the demo application flashed on the boaard starts to run. When I try to run my application (from the CubeIDE) the demo application restarts and in the Cude I get the following message:That's it, nothing happens afterwars, the board simply resets. I suspect there may be something specific when it comes to running single core applications on dual core chip, or maybe I am running the application incorectly in some way.Do you have any ideas what am I doing wrong?Help is mu

I would like to know if it's only to delete the folders "STM32Cube" and "STM32CubeIDE" and its respective launcher. Or has it another folders/files to delete?UPDATE: it has a folder in /opt too, named "st".

When STM32CubeIDE started it propose me to select between STM32F072C8Tx or STM32F072C8Ux ...only these choice nothing more. I took the first one, telling to myself that I can change that after.But I cannot the MCU setting is greyed and fix to STM32F072C8Tx.How can I change that?At the end and because I changed the processor on my board I would like to select STM32L072CZT6Thank-you

Hi all,I'm developing an application with FreeRTOS and some task. In debug mode I'd like to jump from one to another without any issue. I really don't understand how. When I pause debug, the compiler always stop in the Idle Task. So I really can't debug my code. Also because two of my task just communicate by a simple semaphore. I'd would like to debug exactly the same way as FreeRTOS there isn't. Is it possible?Thank you.Best regards

Hi I am currently working on a project where I have to use single channel ADC with continuous conversion mode of STM32G431KB on NUCLEO board. However my code stucks at while loop where calibration needs to happen. Also I noticed that ADC12_Common register do not take value of 0b0001 which is divide clock by two. Being able to create a new project from an existing .ioc file is very useful. But when I've tried to do this (by selecting File->New->STM32 Project from STM32CubeMX .ioc file) the project seems broken. I can build it fine, but when I try to add new (existing) source files to the project (either by dragging and dropping or importing), they appear in the IDE but are never actually built. If you inspect the properties for newly added source files, the Tools Settings section is empty. If I create a new, blank, project, I'm able to add source files fine. Is this feature broken, or am I doing something wrong? 

I am using STM32cubeide 1.3.0, and I am running a project called 'test_1'. I want to create a 'test_2' project based on the 'test_1' project, what should I do? I've tried several methods, but I got an error.I tried changing the name of the 'test_1' project to 'test_2', I tried copy-> paste the project, but an error occurs.I want to know the exact way to copy and use a project that is already in use.

Hello! I discovered STM32CubeIDE recently and I've really been enjoying using it. The device configuration tool makes it easy to set up the parameters.In my project I want to decide at startup whether a certain pin should be an ADC or GPIO_Output. I tried to do this by setting up the pin as ADC in the normal way using the device configuration tool, copying the appropriate code into my 'user code' sections, and then removing the configuration.I also had to copy the stm32f4xx_hal_adc* files into the 'Core' section, and define HAL_ADC_MODULE_ENABLED for the preprocessor. Although it compiles, the result is that it hangs inside HAL_ADC_PollForConversion waiting for the ADC_FLAG_EOC (end of conversion) flag to be set. My code is very simple, this works nicely when using the definitions generated by the tool:HAL_ADC_Start(&hadc1); HAL_ADC_PollForConversion(&hadc1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); uint16_t val = HAL_ADC_GetValue(&hadc1);

I have seen this same thread somewhere before, but for a MAC platform, so hopefully someone has solved it for windows also.V1.3.0 Windows (running on 10) allows for .ioc creation and compiliation (using gcc eclipse compiler) but.... with both Nucleo-F446 or F407 boards , neither the nucleo ST-Link or an external ST-link /V2 module work for the debugger.the dreaded "Debugger connection lost. Shutting down " always happens. Files download and program fine however. Reverting back to V1.0.2 the debugger works as expected! I can see all the watch variables. Looks like my projects created with V1.3 also do not load into V1.0.2, so that is a problem, (but one I can live with if I am forced to develop in V1.0.2...)Is there a fix to this V1.3 problem?Below are screen shots of the message log. Does the fact that I am using the HAL libaries make any difference?Thanks for any assistance.

Hello, I'm getting started with stm32f429i. I built my project like the picture. The problem is when i build target, I had an error like the picture.I Crtl+left click to the "stm32f4xx_sai.h" and it pop out When i rebuid target it have the same error but with anorther source file. I have searched for the error but i found nothing. Please help me

I change the path of my current project which now includes some Japanese characters and I can no longer build my project. It fails at the linker giving the error that is no path to the linker script. And the path is shows replaces the Japanese with ?????. How do I get the IDE to no change the path to ????.I think it has to do with the IDE not reading the path as UTF-8 but probably as ASCII. Can someone help me set this up correctly?I can fix this by moving the project to a new path on my PC that doesn't have Japanese but the main path is in a cloud storage device and I can't change its path. I don't want to copy my project in and out every time I want to build it or any other project.

I have some annoying rendering issuse with CubeIDE 1.3 running on Ubuntu 19.10 (Pop_OS).The problem is that some of the toolbox windows are not updating/re-rendering when switching tabs or perspective.Debug perspective seems to have most issues, see attached screenshot.I have tried launching CubeIDE with the following command: "env SWT_GTK3=0 SWT_WEBKIT2=1 /opt/st/stm32cubeide_1.3.0/stm32cubeide %F", and it does not seem to help.I have an AMD GPU, and are running X11.Any suggestions?

Every once in a while (actually more often than not) I can not get the IDE to compile everything after a CLEAN. It would appear that it doesn't compile anything! Guessing, either the IDE did not remove the files resulting from a compile or the dependency rules are all messed up. However, the fact that I can exit the IDE, re-start the IDE and not do anything but BUILD ALL would indicate the IDE was the one that is performing unexpectedly. hi All.My name is Alfredo, I just have got a Blue_Pill_STM32F103C8 board.I just installed STM32CubeIDE (Version: 1.3.0), i wrote a small project as toggle led using the CubeIDE configuration and everything is fine. but now i am trying to do the same thing using an empty project (it means, not using Cube configuration), after some hours, the project is compiled, and it is working if I debugged it using my ST-Link, so I can see the led on-off,running the program step by step (loading a var manually with a value to move the program forward), but when the debugger is disconnected, Led is not blinking anymore. I tested the program just setting the port and the led is ON, later i changed the program and I reset the port and the led is OFF.I have never set the clock in my project, I do not how to do it (i was looking for this setting) but i could find it.can you help please.As i am using a for in order to spend time, I tested A

I get an error everytime i try to debug LED2. The error says: expectet identifier or `(` before `{`token. I added a screenshot of the code and where exactly the error is positioned. The code was modeled by simulink

I'm using version STM32CubeIDE 1.3.0 on Linux.I am developing a USB application, so I will need to use the external crystal.The external clock (HSE) for STM32F103C8 microcontroller is disabled in STM32CubeIDE. However, I see that it is possible to program with an external crystal (can be found in Figure 2. Clock tree of the datasheet).Could someone please tell if I have done something wrong.Steps to check is quite direct:-> Select STM32F103C8Tx microcontroller.-> In the .ioc file, "Clock Configuration", the HSE region will appear disabled.Thanks.
