So I've developed several 'MCU ARM GCC' static libraries for use in a range of STM32 devices.They contain standard definitions and utility functions needed by many different projects.When instantiating a standard, non-STM32 specific, 'MCU ARM GCC' static library, you are not promoted to select an MCU (nothing wrong here) however as you need to know the target for compilation, you need to somehow get this information to the compiler.When instantiating a STM32 specific project, CubeMX allows you to select a target, which is then locked in to the project and not able to be changed. Hi Community,I create a new project for my STM32F769i-DISCO board with the default settings.In configurator under GRAPHICS display resolution (480x272) appears to be incorrect - see screenshot. Correct resolution for this board is 800x480. Where/how do I change it? It may be a bug. Also, platform settings are not set.Are there any CubeIDE tutorials (YouTube etc) available for this flagship board?

Hello there!I know most ST uprocessor can work really well extending the internal flash to a Quad Flash. In Keil, I can easily create a FLM file (flash algorithm) and start debugging the project with only one click, even when part of the code is in the internal flash. But in TrueStudio, I can't make it work that way and most ST examples puts a "boot" in internal and tha "app" in external.Is CubeIDE a little better? Or do you know another way closer to Keil?Thanks a lot!

Hi,I'm using STM32CubeIDE and I'm trying to retarget printf to the USART1 of the STM32F746G.USART1 of the MCU is connected to the ST-Link Virtual com. I have tested the connection the USART1 directly using the function "HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1, "A", 1, 0xFFFF)" this does work meaning that the hardware is correctly setup. So far I have implemented __io_putchar() function in my main.cpp like the following :int __io_putchar(int ch){ /* Place your implementation of fputc here */ /* e.g. write a character to the EVAL_COM1 and Loop until the end of transmission */ HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1, (uint8_t *)&ch, 1, 0xFFFF); return ch;}I took the code from the one of the example in the STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.15.0 but for an other board since there is no UART_printf example for the STM32F746G. Any of what could be wrong with my implementation ?

I want use the CAN on a STM32F103.I note some difference between HAL documentation I have, and the HAL driver.The documentation is UM1850 rev 20 (april 2017).I don't know the version of the HAL driver, it's in STM32CubeIDE 1.0.2for example, in documentation, there is a "CanTxMsgTypeDef" with StdId, ExtId, IDE, RTR, DLC and Datain HAL driver, ther is no "CanTxMsgTypeDef" but a "CAN_TxHeaderTypeDef" with StdId, ExtId, IDE, RTR, DLC but without data.There are some differences like this between documentation and real driver, and it's more difficult to use it.Does an updated documentation exist ?

Hello,I am experiencing a hard fault when executing the following line of code:hourly_log.credit = *credit_register.The screen shot bellow shows the debug window at the time of the fault, with the variables, disassembly view, and registers.The code in question has been working perfectly on an old 8bit platform, now i'm trying to port it to the STM32 platform, and i'm running into some problems.I'll appreciate some help with this issue.Thanks

I'm quite new in STM32 applications. I'using a Nucleo-L053R8 and I need to store the data from ADC inputs in a SD card. I found some examples but with different MCUCan anyone help me sharing a basic and full working example developed in CubeIDE?.

My problem is: when i create new STM32 project i get this error "Code generation could not be done because the necessary firmware package is missing. Not able to complete STM32Cube project creation". I am using the STM32CubeIDE.I would like to use the standard HAL libraries to establish communication between two boards.I looked around a decent amount for example code but all the code I have found uses either old or custom libraries incompatible with the current version of HAL.Let me know if there is an easily accessible implementation tutorial or datasheet.Please help me get the following functionality.Functionality:I want to have a button on each and be able to send a CAN message triggering the other board to toggle its on-board LED attached to PB3.Schematic:Two Nucleo STM32f042 boards with their PA11(CAN_TX) and PA12 (CAN_RX) cross connected.a pullup resistor and wire attached to PB3 to be used as a makeshift button.Best,-Danny

As title.When I open a .ioc MX configuration of a project with the newest version, the IDE hangs at "Initializing Device Configuration Tool".

Are there any instructions on how to import an existing STM example project into STM32CubeIDE such that is can be built and deployed. At the moment its a very frustrating process that wastes lots of time and energy.

When stumped, I've found that the examples in the various board zip files that STMCubeIDE downloads are very helpful. However none of them are structured in a way that I know how to load into the 'modern' STM32CubeIDE. is there any documentation aimed at a new user of the STM32CubeIDE ecosystem, wanting to compile or modify or run the example code? the readme.txt seems to refer to keil and other IDEs I am not familiar with.a 'quick start guide to getting the samples running' from the POV of someone who has bought a nucleo board and download STM32CubeIDE as their first (and only) STM IDE would be enormously helpful.For now, I've got used to generating a new blank project using the IDE, then copying bits of the initialization code from the example, scattering the bits into the various c files in the IDE generated project. But there must be an easier way....?thanks

Everything works fine with Atollic TrueSTUDIO, but I decided to download STM32CubeIDE and create a basic empty project.In the Device Configuration Tool, all I did was enable "Debug Serial Wire" so that I can debug using ST-Link. After full chip erase in Cube Programmer, the CubeIDE debugger cannot connect with any reset option : connect under reset or software system reset. Whenever I jump to .ioc or CubeMX perspective the software doesn't respond anymore. When I try to install newer of CubeIDE I could not install on macOS Catalina due to incompatibility issues.

I created a fresh C++ project and copied over some existing C files from another project. I then renamed them to .cpp and started porting them. First I renamed the system include files from foo.h to cfoo. With this, CubeIDE complains about cstdint not being found. It compiles the file with gcc -std=gnu11 instead of -std=gnu++14.I tried setting the C Compiler to g++ but then CubeIDE chokes on C files using C++ keywords as identifiers.I also tried renaming my own header files to .hpp (because the error occurs in the header file) but the error message remained the same.error: cstdint: No such file or directory foo.hppHow can I tell CubeIDE to compile the file with the correct compiler?

After update of CubeIDE I got several errors with undefined reference- all were from stm32_seq.h methods. How can i fix it

Is this a bug in the tool or I don't understand how to tweak it?Debugging a bootlolader and app. image on a single core H743 or H753.The bootloader sits in bank1, sector 0 and the "application" in sector 1.When I begin to debug the bootloader, the debugger erases sector 1 as well as sector 0.In Atollic, I could write something into sector 1 and it stayed intact.Each of images is well under 128K.In the link script I defined size of FLASH as 128K, and then even as 120K.So I resorted to flashing two images in one debug config, as explained by Marcus for dual core H7 in AN....I had to put the sector 0 image (botloader) first, then the sector 1 image, though I debug the bootloader. Then it lets me to keep both images.I'd like it to be as in Atollic: just do not erase more than needed.Or, is somewhere a hidden option to control erase?-- pa
